《The Journey Towards Stardom》Chapter 10 - Be gentle with me

It was the day after the unusual reunion with Aro. Putting off thinking about the shock he sustained, Faer started the day in a gloomy mood.
In his bedroom, Faer took a look at his clothing in the mirror as he was getting dressed.
Whilst in the midst dressing, Faer quietly thought, ‘I’m not sure if I should be surprised or not that Fleur knew my measurements.’
The ad he did for the clothing store was being released today. Apparently, the people involved were over the moon at how good it came out, so in celebration, a party was being held with other big wigs in the industry.
Faer leaned his head on the window of the car with his eyes closed. Jenna who kept sneaking glances at him was not sure what to say to get rid of this tense atmosphere.
Wrapped up in his thoughts, Faer was seemingly concerned about the rash impulses he’d been having lately. For example:
When Jenna came to pick up him 10 minutes ago, at the sight of her he was ready to pounce and that was not like him at all. Yeah, she was really sexy in her black dress which clung to every curve of her body. Her exposed arms and barely covered chest made his blood rage. The bottom skirt of the dress had a deep slit in the right side. Usually, something like this would be a little vulgar but on Jenna, it looked elegantly sexy if there was even such a thing. Through all this, Faer felt like his reaction was a little too extreme. If he had to sum it up in a word, it would: Territorial. Where were such thoughts coming from? These sporadic feelings were puzzling Faer and he was more than a little worried.

“Are you nervous? They just want to meet you and thank you. I got to say; you pull that suit off really well.”
Kids like him loved being complimented, especially from a beauty like her. Jenna knew he was going to skyrocket to fame, and she wanted him to find her invaluable so he wouldn’t leave her behind.
“This much is obvious.” Faer glanced at her. That pointed look completely dispelled the impression she was building of him.
Those sharp eyes were not one a naïve person would have.
Finished with the conversation, Faer looked out the window and did not speak again for the rest of the ride.
The car slowed in front of a mansion. Faer squashed down the impulse of getting out of the car before Jenna. ‘It’s natural for the star to get out of the car first.’ Was what he was thinking.
A frown marred his face at that fleeting thought. What's up with that?
Jenna got out of the car then pushed her head through his window.
“Act natural and don’t clash with anyone. I don’t want to scare you, but I’ve been to parties like this a few times. Someone like you will get gobbled up if you’re not careful. What do you say if someone becomes aggressive with you?”
Looking up at her with slightly dewy eyes, flushed red cheeks, and a compelling quivering voice, Faer said: "Be gentle with me?"
Jenna covered her bleeding nose and looked away. Shit, too destructive.
Exiting the car, he proceeded to walk slowly behind Jenna.
Looking back at Faer wearing that suit and walking like he owned the place, he conveyed the very picture of elegance. She only wished he would at least try to be more low-key.
The party was already in full swing when they entered the salon. Everyone seemed to be having fun as they chatted with acquaintances and danced to the music. The staff going back and forth gave off a very busy picture.

Straightening his collar, he looked around to find a relatively deserted area. Not because he was forced to attend meant he’d be willing to interact with anyone.
Everyone’s eyes were naturally drawn to Faer. Sitting at the corner of the room by a window, he could only sigh as he somehow ended up attracting attention.
His indifferent expression and the smooth, graceful action of sipping his wine coupled with his slender legs crossed without a care, the fitted grey tailored three-piece suit outlining his broad shoulders, slim waist, and long legs. He looked like a resplendent king without a care in the world.
The suit was making him feel way too hot, so he undid the top button of his meticulously fastened shirt.
Around a table not too far away, a few men and women were sitting, they were accompanied by many popular celebrities.
“So this was where you were.”
Jenna along with several men made their way towards Faer. Abruptly lifting his pair of peach eyes, his cold gaze bore right through them.
When he spotted Jenna surrounded by what looked like a pack of wolves he felt irritated.
‘Calm down Faer, why are you so annoyed? This isn’t like you.’
Standing before him, Jenna pointed to the men and introduced them individually. It seemed these men were the higher-ups for the clothing store and some well-known company CEOs.
Jenna wasn’t quite sure what to feel right now. These people practically strong-armed her into introducing Faer to them; as much as she didn’t want to, she hadn’t a choice. These people were giants in the business world; a word from them could either make or break you.
Faer knew he couldn’t snub these people so easily but he also knew not to get caught up with them. His modeling career was just starting so just had to endure silently until his career became stable.
Seemingly satisfied at his reaction, Jenna could finally breathe a sigh of relief. The big shots were then ushered away somewhere, and all he could say was good riddance.
Casually observing his surroundings once more, Faer pursed his lips as he saw several other models giving him hateful glances.
One man, in particular, egged on by the others, strode arrogantly towards Faer.
