∼ Day 4 ∼

Standing before the beautiful scenery of the glades I smack my proverbial lips.

It's power leveling time!

Currently, I was sitting on the outskirts where the rocky hills meet the glades.

It took me a few hours to get back here from the where the goblin versus beetle battle took place, and I was starting to already feel a bit hungry even though I ate one of the goblins back there.

I noticed this time around with my current evolution, the growth in my size hasn't been increasing all that much. Or at least compared to when I was a lesser sanguinite.

Other than that, these are my current plans:

Kill horned rabbits.

Eat horned rabbits.

Sleep.

Repeat.

Should be workable I believe.

As such, for the entire day until sundown, I began a slaughter fest of rabbits.

How the fuck are there even so many rabbits in these glades?

They are quite literally endless.

Today I killed a total of 55 rabbits!

I thought I'd be able to kill a lot of rabbits, but not this many.

You would think that they would start diminishing in numbers when I cull them so fervently like this. But no!

They just seem to keep popping out of the woodwork.

Fucking like rabbits, that saying might be a bit of an underestimation in this case.

Pulling up the prompt for my day of exploits, I mentally grin as I get immediately become satisfied with my progress.

Although the gains were enormous, I also noticed how fast the drop in the EXP gained was, each time I killed and fed. I sadly won't be able to this for too long.

By the way, yes it does say killed 55 rabbits and drained 54 rabbits...

It was one of the last rabbits of the day and night had fallen.

I just managed to take a rabbit down by injecting my paralytic compound directly into it's heart. And as I was about to drink my fill, when my senses screamed as both a vague scent coupled with a feeling of faint heat from a living creature nearby hits them.

Immediately dislodging myself from the rabbit, I hovered in the air to see who the fuck wanted to disturb my meal.

A streak of shadows suddenly flies past as my prey which I had just killed was snatched up by a feline radiating shadows from its body.

Motherfucker! You little cat thief!

It suddenly stopped it's momentum at the edge of a series of bushes as it looked back over at me.

Deja vu...

This is way too fucking similar to that one time, is it the same motherfucker?

...

Well, that was why I'm missing one rabbit's worth of blood.

Oh yeah! I barely managed to use appraisal on the cat through my haze of hatred before it disappeared into the bushes.

It had incredibly high agility and dexterity, but it's other stats probably weren't that good.

I must say, that those have increased a lot more than I would've expected.

And it would seem that I can't even advance blood profiling... huh.

It's unfortunate, but it only cost me 1 skill point and I essentially just got it back for hitting max level.

It would definitely be nice if I also got all the costs back when I hit max level with my other skills when they can't be advanced again. But I highly doubt it.

But let's just advance lesser paralyze while we're at it.

Interesting...

The lesser petrification skill seems quite strong, having the effect similar to that of the mythical creature gorgon or medusa. But I'd prefer that my blood I drink not turn into stone, besides who even knows if I bite into someone and petrify them that I wouldn't get stuck.

Lesser rot inducement is in of a somewhat similar boat. I doubt that the efficiency of the blood will stay good if it starts rotting.

Lesser bewilderment seems usable though. But if not for one new quality of the higher rank of lesser paralyze, I would've picked this one.

Not only does paralyze become more potent, but it also now can be secreted from my claws.

Done deciding, I choose the increased rank of lesser paralyze.

Standing there a bit awkward at the realization, with my only remaining right leg held out in front of me for a minute or two, before I shake myself out of it and open my status.

It feels so damn good to see the fruits of your hard work, and not only that but also feel the literal surge of pure power running through your veins as you become stronger.

I'm really starting to love this new world of mine, even though it wants to kill me 99% of the time.

On a side note, I did pay attention to something that didn't make too much sense to me.

While yeah sure, these horned rabbits aren't predators so they don't get all that much EXP.

But how the fuck with so many rabbits aren't there any evolved versions?

The only rabbit being different from all the other ones was the alpha one I encountered.

Not sure if that one was an evolution though.

Wait, how much exactly do have I explored of these glades?

Trying to paint a mental map, with all the pieces of memories of the places I've been since coming here I think I can somewhat guess where I've been.

Since I kind of know how much the glades area expands in each direction by flying up and looking around, I can say that I've been only on the left side of the glades, using the village facing the glades as a standpoint. Even when I met the adventures and followed them, I didn't approach the right side.

There was one thing that put all of it into perspective, and it was where I found the alpha horned rabbit first.

Seemingly for the entire time I've been on this world, I've somehow managed to only fly around the outskirts of the glades, never really in the center of the glades.

And if I remember correctly, the time where I've been the closest to the center, was the time I found the alpha horned rabbit.

If my hypothesis proves correct, then all of the stronger and maybe even evolved horned rabbits will be towards the center of the glades!

But I put my thoughts of committing rabbit genocide aside, as I feel a wave of drowsiness hit me.

I've barely rested today and I've been grinding my levels and skills, so I desperately need some time to sleep it off.

So I find a good looking tree and promptly fall into a deep slumber.

Waking up again with the twin suns on the horizon, I stretch out all of my limbs (minus one that is) and set about my day.

This time I'll continue my act of slaughtering small balls of fluff and very slowly approach the center of the glades.

Spending another entire day killing rabbits I find a perch on a large beautiful tree, which I found when night fell, to reflect on my progress.

Another day, another shit-ton of EXP.

Even though I was still hit with the ever-diminishing returns on the EXP gains and a lower body count.

So while I was very slowly approaching the center of the glades my EXP gained didn't decrease too much from yesterday, which also led me to find out that my hypothesis seems to be right.

The closer I came to the center, the higher level each rabbit seemed to be.

Well, let's also check my skill increases.

It doesn't seem that I can level up appraisal by appraising the same creature multiple times since I did it on every rabbit both yesterday and today.

I start to feel my focus waning a bit, must be quite tired.

I quickly then check my status as I begin to feel sleepy again.
