“Great Senior, it is not that I do not want to protect the young master under your care, but it’s that I have some incredible difficulties that I urgently need to resolve…” Sung Li said as he tried to appear more resolute.

“Hmph! What incredible difficulties could a mere early Dao Ascent like you have? Speak! This lord would like to hear it.” Huang Xue’s ancient voice rang out in disdain.

“And why did the Gui clan gather an alliance to attack your Sung clan?”

After a moment, the archaic voice spread out once more.

“The Infernal Land...since I am planning to travel there in the future, I can promise you this: as long as you watch over that child until he reaches the Profound He realm, I will personally go avenge your clan in your place. A surge of happiness and disbelief arose in Sung Li’s heart when he heard Huang Xue’s words. He had already long realized that for him to reach the level in which he could threaten the four major clans in the Infernal Land may take an extremely long time, even with help from the Saint Mirror.

“Elder Kun, Elder Hu...and that’s even Elder Mu!” Sung Li sucked in a cold breath as he saw those figures. These were the people who had been chasing him for nearly the past two years!

While Elder Kun and Elder Hu were at the 3rd stage of Dao Ascent like him, Elder Mu was actually at the 7th stage! He was genuine late staged Dao Ascent! It was because of this elder that Sung Li had to be extra careful every time he moved around. After all, he had nearly died under this person’s hands multiple time, escaping only after using trickeries and burning his life essence.
