《AS LONG AS IT'S INTERESTING, ISN'T IT FINE TO LIVE AS A DUNGEON? (Hiatus)》Chapter 35 : Execute

Snowblossoms are delicious. Grazing all day is wonderful. It's a shame there have been more nuisances recently. As I tilt my head and lean forward to pluck another flower from it's stem,

[ ] Air Cutter

a wind blade cut through the air and into my side. Well, between the distance it was cast at and the scales under my fur, it didn't accomplish anything besides knocking the snow off my back. I let out a snort and shook off the rest of the snow from my body. It seems like it's time for work again.

I stared up at the parrot harpy that cast the spell. It was flying. I can't do much about flying. Well, the roof is more or less one big trap anyways. I'm sure they'll get him if I just chase him around. I do wish it would stop casting those bothersome spells though. Keeping my eyes on him, my slow steps turning into agile bounding as the terrain starts becoming more complicated and less flat. Nothing that would hinder my kind though.

[Harpy] Gah. What? Shit. Stranglevine. And dryads. This might be trouble.

Just as the harpy seemed to turn around and start circling back, it happened. About time. The new addition that was added to our home, the stranglevine, has shown itself. A large and thick vine that strikes with all the ferocity and speed of a snake. It's ability to blend in and resistance to bleeding makes up for the inability to bite I'd say. It's a shame it can't really move around without the help of the dryads. I watch as it coils and binds one of the harpy's wings. It should be crushed soon enough. I ought to get underneath it so I can finish the nuisance when the stranglevine is done.

As I enter the valley underneath I notice a stench. A swordsman and some sort of octopus girl was also making a lot of noise in the area. It looks like if I want to get rid of the nuisance, I'll have to get rid of them too before they help out the harpy. The stench doesn't seem to be coming from them, but from this substance smear all on the hills next to us. I cautiously prod it with my hoof, even if I dont want it on me. Nothing seems to happen so I confidently step on it.

Woah. The smear suddenly expanded pushing me back. I was so surprised I let out a honk. It would... be troubling to step on these. I guess it's lucky that these guys are standing where this goop isn't. I rush forward, intending to gouge them with my horns.

[Swordsman] It's coming, get ready.

[Octopus] Vara, we'll leave Paul to you.

I ignore all the noise and charge. My charge was deflected by the swordsman's shield. He was too busy defending to use his sword by the Octopus managed to land a hit with a tentacle. It was strong and heavy, but not exactly life threatening. It was enough to push me back though.

[Swordsman] Gah. Even with the buffs this is heavy.

[Octopus] It seems like I can't do too much damage like this.

Well, let's get this over with them. I get in charging position and start gather the mana in my body. It seems they're scrambling and yelling but I can't focus on what they say. My conciousness narrows and I focus solely on my target. And I burst foward, my body moving with the might of mana. I almost have them. The shield wont save them from this. And

[Swordsman] Here it comes. Now!

[Octopus] Got it. Marsh's Embrace.

I stumbled. I stumbled? I stumbled. That's weird. Why would I stumble? Strange. It seems my path deviated when I stumbled, allowing them to redirect my charge again. Redirect my charge... towards the hills smeared with that strange substance. I tried to stop, but in my confusion and panic I slipped. I slipped? I slipped. No. I was made to slip? The ground. The ground. The ground in this area was muddy and wet. Was it always muddy and wet? No it couldn't have been.

Doesn't matter. Not right now. I slipped. Towards the hill with all of that strange goop. I landed on my side in it. Unlike when I merely stepped on it, it exploded outwards. I flew up into the air and something crashed into me. The harpy. It had somehow gotten out. No it's not alone. A dark elf too. The three of us came crashing back down to the floor. Pain runs through me. Broken bones probably. Lying on my side, I start sinking into the mud as if the very earth was pulling me down. I don't think I can get up. Not with the harpy and dark elf lying on me.

I feel a sharp object pierce through my eye and the world goes dark.

It seems like I won't be able to eat any more snowblossoms today.
