《AS LONG AS IT'S INTERESTING, ISN'T IT FINE TO LIVE AS A DUNGEON? (Hiatus)》Chapter 29 : Peak Behind The Kitten

[ ] Look. Kitten.
The girl held out her hands and atop them sat a small grey cat. Most female adventurers would want to smile and play with it. This girl however did not. It would perhaps be more accurate to say she could not. She was, after all, partially a golem. It was incredibly rare for anyone to choose to evolve into a golem, and even then their instincts usually prevented a full transformation. This is because golems have all of their emotions and free thinking suppressed. This means most golems that humans evolve into are halves like her. Her fleshy body was encrusted with polished stone and bits of metal. Lines of it ran up and down, and through, her body like metal through a hunk of ore. It would usually take a child experiencing quite a bit of trauma to willingly choose such an evolution.
[ ] Look. Kitten.
The girl repeated to her companions. It was less enthusiasm and more a simple observation. It had simply jumped onto her, although with a golem’s tough defenses even it’s claws would fail to scratch her.
[ ] Oh well it looks like the rumors are true. The dungeon cats aren’t dangerous huh.
A red goblin finger poked at the cat resting on the rocky hands of the golem.
[ ] Quit playing around. Dangerous or not, it’s still a dungeon creature. It still provides the mana to fuel your growth. Fels, just kill the thing already. Icas you should know better than to be so soft on dungeon creatures.
[Icas] Always a heartless one eh Kilian. Well, you’re right though. Waste not want not and all that.
[Fels] Understood.
The cat didn’t stand a chance against Fels’ golem strength and was quickly killed and placed aside. Even if she didn’t, Kilian already killed various dungeon animals that got within striking distance.

[Kilian] We’re aiming for the inverted forest. There’s little to hunt between here and there. Unfortunately we’ll need to make a few stops before that. On the first floor, we’ll look for any plants that has a mana regeneration effect. The ones that will work raw will take priority.
Icas scratches his cheek and pulls out the two walking staves that were in leather holsters on his back. Both were made of ironwood and enchanted, one with glistening white runes of ice and the other with grey faded runes of protection. The two staves slid together and with a practiced motion connected them together. The new stave was almost twice as tall as he was.
[Icas] Raw mana herbs. Disgusting. Well let’s get on with it then. I hope Fels is better at looking for herbs than I am.
[Fels] I will do my best.
Kilian nodded and walked towards the grassy area, pulling out one of the three one handed longsword on his back, preparing to strike down any creatures that come nearby. Icas followed behind him, using his stave as a walking stick. Fels nodded too and plodded along behind them.

A Gray and Grey world
What if adventurers are not as they seemed. In the tales of old, adventurers were the ones who vanquished the demons and beasts from the land, the ones who sealed the great evil away, the ones who saved the world from destruction and kept peace within the lands. But, what if that wasn't really what happened? What if adventurers are selfish, narcissicistic, and- depending on who you ask- evil. What if they weren't the paragons of good that their history books show. As they say, it is the victors that write history. In this world, this broken world, the true nature of adventurers will be told, unveiled to the masses. In this world, where history has yet to be written, the true heroes will be shown. Or- at least, that's what should've happened. But then again- heroes, villains-... everything is relative to the one who sees it. Everything changes depending on who's perspective... Perhaps the heroes of this story- may not be the heroes that you might think. Author : Hello everyone! I just want you all to know that this is a first time story.
