Chapter 5: Difference in Ability

[Engel, are you going to tell them?]

[‘Bout what?]

[The dragon attack, Tsukuyomi, Parallel Versions of us, etc.-]

[Oh, that… I don’t know, maybe until we have a layout of what we should do…]

[We should at least give them our ‘Status Window’ don’t you think?]

[I agree.]

Whilst silently eating, Engel and Lene had a secret chat through the [Twin Call] they received from Yozora. They both were talking about the info they had held back from Yozora and co.- And among them was what they discovered about Tsukuyomi.

While fighting against him, Engel had tried to scan him with his [Demonic Eye], filling it with [Mind], which was useful but a delicate and difficult task; and His eye ended up bleeding just like when he tried to use his [Angelic Eye] to create a mind-based Longinus Lanze.

Due to it being the first time using his eye with [Mind], he could only know 2 things from Tsukuyomi, which in the basis of him lying, were confirmed true- His name and Race.

Tsukuyomi’s name is [Bryan Aster], and his race is [Ascended Veränderten].

This only worked to confuse them more, but they decided to leave that info in the corner of their minds until the time was right. They had lots to take care about with the topic of them coming back to Earth before thinking of a multiverse scheme in process.

When they finished their meal and cleaned the table, Engel changed to serious mode and gathered everyone on the living room.

“They changed…”

“Eh? What do you mean?”

“Well, I’ve just noticed that your eye color changed. Since when can you do that? Moreover, your hair color is black now.”

“Did it? Also, my hair is black from a long time ago… It’s just that ,for some sense of familiarity I change it to white in public.”

To Leslie’s query, Engel replied with honesty and looked for a mirror in the place, as to confirm whether his eyes changed color.

“Wait- You didn’t notice? They changed to Purple and Rose color.”

“I noticed too. Moreover, I realized they are the real color of your eyes.”

“Indeed…”

And so, Engel experimented with the change of his eyes. In fact, he was making [Mind] run in his body so his eye color changed. When he tried to stop the flow, [Mana] took its place and his eye color went back to the usual bright yellow-green. He hadn’t noticed this fact, but Lene did and Yozora pointed out it was the real color of ‘his’ eyes.

“Anyways, that’s not the reason I’ve called you for-“ Engel decided to let his eyes be yellow-green color, and his hair white for the time being as Leslie was with them.

“Is because I want to show you our [Status Window]. Lene already called Brunnhildr and I did call Izaak, Isold and Krestin. Is there someone else you want to let know this information?” Asked Engel while preparing some amount of mana in order to cast a spell.

“No. Only the ones here are enough. Aleksandra is in [Bereich] after all.” Replies Yozora with a wry smile.

“Alright. I’ll be back in a second.”

And so, Engel teleported to Brunnhildr’s location, which was provided by Lene a while ago.

“I’m back.”

“Good afternoon everyone.”

In less than a second, he came back with Brunnhildr who was already prepared to be picked up by Engel. She took a seat in a couch next to Yozora and attentively listened to Engel and Lene. After a moment, Krestin, Izaak and Isold appeared in the living room, leaving Yozora, Leslie and Brunnhildr dumbfounded.

“Alright. I’ll start from the beginning. There are three kinds of energy in the world- [Mana], [Spirit] and [Mind].

[Mana] is the energy from the body, [Spirit] is the energy coming from your mind, and [Mind] is power directly from your existence.

Everyone with this have different effects in the world, as well as its backlashes. If you exhaust your [Mana], you’ll feel tired; If you exhaust your [Spirit], you’ll feel mentally drained and if you exhaust your [Mind], you’ll pass out, and even die.

For the basics, [Mana] is [Magic and Spells], [Spirit] is [Skills] and [Mind] is [Skills]. We use that format for these energies. Do you follow me?”

Asked Engel after briefly talking about what he knew. Everyone nodded and he kept his speech.

“We 6, including Shirayuki, learned how to control these energies and increased our power through them. We’ll go in order and start from [Mana]. We’ll show you our new strenght of when we arrived here.” He explained while readying his [Status Window]. The other prepared it too and showed it to Yozora and co. Shirayuki followed them suit after finding out she was too, affected by Earth.

What Engel means with ‘new strength’ is to the fact that, due to the new concentration of [Mana] on Earth thanks to the [Time-Space Tremor], the system to control and rate [Mana] changed, thus creating a new [Status Window]. For the Lost Gods + Shirayuki it didn’t just changed the appearance of the [Status Window] but also increased their powers at least by a threefold.

Though, it only affected their [Mana] and [Spirit]. What they really cared about was their [Mind], it didn’t work at all. For the gods, it was useless how much they improved in the other energies as they couldn’t even scratch a wall of [Mind] even with a compressed ultraheat laser made of [Mana].

Thus- Engel, Lene, Krestin, Izaak, Isold and Shirayuki shared their [Status Window] for everyone present to see.

“WHAT THE BLOODY F?!”

Shouted Yozora- the only one who could retain her reason after scanning every one of the statuses.

“Are you fucking serious?!” Shouted with all her might Brunnhildr after 5 minutes of silence. Yozora was the first one to react, but then stood still as if confirming that what she saw wasn’t a blatant lie.

“What the hell is with those resistances? Doesn’t those things have to make a complete 100% why is there a thousand?! What the fuck?! Also, the heck with that regenerative rate?! With that, I can heal my full health in 30 seconds! Not to mention what the freaking fuck is going on with those enhancements?! Oopart?! Twin Moon?! The heck is with you?!”

“Calm down sis… Calm down- We’re no less surprised than you.”

“You kidding me?! I feel like you can kill me with a slap! Besides, why can’t I perceive your energy?! What-“

And so, as Brunn didn’t show any signs of stopping her rant, Yozora gave her a shock with her [Phantom Stealth] and she blacked out.

The reason everyone was silent except Brunnhildr was because even Asher and Autumn didn’t have an idea of Engel and company’s strength. Even they two were shocked as they were way, ‘way’ behind the six of them.

At this moment, a myriad of feelings surrounded the group. Respect, fear, helplessness, shame and relief.

“You haven’t finished explaining, right?- I’ll talk to Brunnhildr later so continue.”

Said Yozora with a fake composure. She was shaking with various emotions at the moment. Was it fear? Emotion? She herself didn’t know.

“That’s right. I’ll continue then.” Said Engel with a quiet voice. He, and the other Lost Gods did notice their shaken heart but decided to stay put about it.

“This status is the modified one we received after coming back. Now, if we point out the [MP] in this status, and convert it with a 0:0 ratio, that’s the [Spirit] amount we own. Talking about [Spirit], this is the strength of the mind, the feelings, the so-called ‘willpower’… Or at least a small amount of it.

[Spirit] is the fuel to what we know to the [Yotse Skills] and many other unimaginable skills. Classified in tiers and types, there are several skills useful and fit for each individual.

[Radar], [Phantom Stealth], [Poison Hands], [Absolute Antimagic Field], [AEGIS], [Antimagic Slayer], [Slayer Amalgamation]… These and more are fueled by [Spirit].”

“I see…”

“Skills use less consumption, they depend on the type of, but are more difficult to master, as well as use due to its lack of versatility ,if not in various cases.”

“Lack of versatility?”

“Yes. Let’s talk about [Radar]. You can see you allies and people, as well as enemies, but that’s all. You can’t communicate, pinpoint exact locations after a certain distance or even see a thing. But, if you think outside the box, and master [Radar] to a full extent, you can turn off some features, to turn on others.”

“Just like I used my stealth just now?”

“Indeed. You cancelled it right away, not moving from this dimension but creating a dimensional ‘shock’ or disturbance that stunned Brunnhildr.”

“Everything depends on the user, huh.”

“That’s it. And so, I did explained about [Mind], right?”

“Yes, we already know about [Mind].”

“So- there’s one last thing to mention. These three energies are in different realms- A sword of [Mana] can’t pierce a [Spirit] shield. A [Spirit] bomb can’t destroy a [Mind] paper-thin shield. Thus, if I were to use a pebble with [Mind] I can pierce a [Mana] filled armor with ease.”

“…..”

And so, in a complete silence, Engel finished explaining their actual strength. He, and the other gods, deemed that saying their [Mind] power’s numeric value, as well as their long list of earned skills would be too much of a shock, as regardless of what the numbers mean, they were quite high. Thus, they decided to postpone it for another time.

Part Two.

[Brunnhildr’s POV]

I woke up after two hours the talk with Engel ended. Indeed, seeing their status was much of a shock. I thought they were like walking nukes… No, they already were walking nukes before leaving, now they are like mini big-bangs with feet. For the register, my max STR is 35,000 so pretty much I'm nothing next to them.

This somehow makes it easier and harder to cope with.

Lene, Krestin, Izaak and Isold went back to their respective places. Engel sent back Asher, and allowed Shirayuki and Autumn to stay. Yozora wasn’t happy about it, but let it go due to the sudden work that befell us.

By work, we mean the release of the hostages that bastard of Terrence took. God knows where Ms. Cole went as she is the only one with the head able to compete with him.

Engel, as sharp when needed, noticed our restlessness and offered his help- Which I was going to ask even if he didn’t ask.

No matter how bad things seem, this slip was our fault, so I don’t want to involve him and the others too much in this ‘fight’. That’s why- I only asked him one thing… To take the dirty laundry Terrence and his allies have.

[Quarta] is unable to attack them with cybernetic warfare as they hold privileges to stop her. It was a miracle we even have the right to use her, as well as trying to move her as a piece to deceive them.

It seems stuff sped up and we had to act right now, but then-

“Who might be at this hour?”

Asked then Yozora who was unsure of who rang the bell.

“Three women, two man. Not so powerful; young and… Why do they feel like the gods?”

“Eh? Ah! Those are-“

“The [New Blood]?”

Just as Shirayuki mentioned their presence and Engel tried to mention then, Yozora opened the door and said their name out loud.
