《Starborne Warrior》Chapter 43: Clan of Giants

I was a horrible beast. My heart felt nothing but a piercing void. Those beasts that took everything away, and I had become the very same thing. I ate them all, no matter how large or small. They all died in my path.

A lonely road that would lead only to one end. One day, I came across a tribe being attacked by beasts. Instinctually, I slaughtered the beasts without hesitation. The humans were of no interest to me. I ignored their beckoning and calling.

I ignored them when they began following me. I simply roamed, drawn by the scent of beasts. Many tribes were encountered along the road, the massive desert that I was conceived into seemed endless.

Often, many times a month, I was called back home by some intangible force. Guilt reeling in my heart, I kneeled there all night long.

The pack of humans behind me grew, and grew. They somehow found out my name. Perhaps a random villager or two from my tribe lived long enough to tell the tale. Eventually, all tribes were consumed. My heart was a darkened void, but this remained a faint light in the dark. All these people, saved from a vicious fate. This was proof that I was worth something at least.

One night, as I kneeled at the place my home once stood. I began to smell an overwhelming scent of blood. I took to the sky, following the thick, rich scent.

There was no life, in an ocean of torn apart bodies, existed a beast.

Once more, they would take it all. I began to attack wildly in rage, yet, it fought back the hardest of all the beasts I've ever encountered. It fought with trained skill and ferocity.

I realized it was a creature like me.

In the end, it strangled me, there on the bloody desert sand.

My last view was of the night sky, and the falling moon.

Those dreams always made me wake up with a headache. Or maybe it was the drinking. Ugh. I stretched my arms and spine toward the sky and those nice cracking noises of my spine soothed the soul. Au-ha was somewhat reeling inside, laying on a mattress that she had conceived. My mental landscape, at least around au-ha, was that of a normal human room.

“Don’t do that again without asking me.” she complained and rubbed her temples.

“Well, you had fun enough last night. How was it being drunk for the first time?”

“I could feel the information inside being consumed, slowly from the inside. It was scrambling itself like static. It was terrifying.” she stated bluntly.

“But I loved it, let's do it again sometime.” she added.

“Indeed, that was an entertaining night. Let's do it every night forever.” The Lord of Stars would chime in now and then, from unreachable depths inside, like some sort of demon.

I could only ignore the terrible advice and sigh. It actually didn't sound that bad, but I’ve still got things to do, many miles to go on this endless journey. The sun shined brightly on the snow, which reflected it back up. So bright.

I walked up the northern reaches slowly, in the brightness. Even now, I still passively did Daoist breathing. If I was a cultivator, au-ha alone could have made me into a genius. Maybe another life.

What was there in the northern reaches? All inheritances would just be a useless pain for me, no thank you. All beasts here were of ice, snow, or earth elements. No cities were here, only one at the base of the reaches, called Bie-shan

I had understood instinctually that I can't just consume all elements, as it will cause chaos within, leading to madness. So, I walk the path of lightning and magnetism. Earth would be fitting, and so would the wind. Yet fire, ice, water, wood and many others were incompatible with lightning. Of course, there are also legends of fused elements. One perfect example is my blood-alloy body.

So, the only thing to do was to go to the clans, and maybe go hunting for earth beasts. Though, they were much rarer than the ice and snow beasts, and finding one strong enough, one with a soul, would be a minor miracle.

Finally, after a long enough time, I saw a structure in the distance. A courtyard, and a large main hall, the materials used to make them long since coated in ice and snow. It appeared bustling with activity, with my eyesight, I could see clearly.

7-8 feet tall women, skin as pale as snow, large frames, their hair all different shades of blue. They all wore beast fur in skirts and tops. Some wore armor that looked made of icy bones. A lot of skin was revealed, they were considerably resistant to the cold.

All women.

“We should destroy this place quickly, they say northern cultivators are barbarians.” au-ha urged, clearly because of all the women.

“No, no. Don’t be savage now. Go talk to them.” the Lord of stars suggested.

“You! Be quiet already! You hide in the depths of our mind be still wont be silent?”

“Ours?” the lord scoffed.

“Yes, ours not yours, begone.”

I stepped in to stop the madness in my head. “Alright, alright, that's enough out of you two. Au-ha, I'm not going to have sex with these strange giant women, okay?"

"Good."

Aye, this was going to drive me to the brink one day.

Shaking it off, I moved forward. I was going with the Lord’s plan, not because of what he intends, but because I'm a civilized person, who lives in a society. I got close enough to the courtyard that the guards caught sight, I was draped in a red cloak, distinct against the white backdrop. I waved a friendly wave.

The guards took out horns and blew into them, guards started taking shots at me with icy arrows, the members of the clan all got into a defensive position. Many of them shouted “Begone, outsider.” while hurling magic, arrows, and whatever else they could get their hands on.

So much for society and civilization. I did not hesitate to attack, almost eager to.

This beast blood was changing me. The world was, too. My third eye shot dual shots of immensely powerful red lightning, those hit would disintegrate or explode on the spot. I force pushed all the projectiles out of the way, and got into close enough killing distance in seconds, my fists had the strength of a small range of mountains, and I could barely control my power.

They shouted and shouted that an attack was occurring. A brave cultivator charged forward with fists covered in ice. My tail turned into a whip and struck her clean in the neck with lightning speed. I smashed my way deeper into them. Many turned tail and ran.

In this world, I already started a legend of slaughter. I could join no clans, as almost all of them required you to be born. The Mo clan was an exception, and I was never an official member. I never wore the robes, only draped in a red cloth mimicked by lightning.

There was not much to be gained in slaughtering this clan. I didn't even know their names. Maybe some information could be taken, a vault full of valuable resources to steal. Most importantly, though, it would build my reputation. I guess they have not yet heard of me, but in the west, there were none who did not know my name or visage.

I was a beast, and beasts liked to move quickly.

I felt a little bad because some of them were cute. Let it be known I did not kill those who ran, only those who attacked me, which were slain in one blow. I would estimate most were dantian, some triple points, some rare outer fields.

I continued my way past the courtyard, up a hill, into a central plaza. A tall, mighty building stood as the main hall, straight across from me. Many of the pale giant women stood guard, and to my surprise, there were a few men. They were all human, and contrasted greatly to the women by their side.

They all stood there, almost guarded by the women. They had looks of hostility in their eyes, and wore the beast furs of the rest of the clan. Interesting.

One stood at the front, wearing a full suit of armor. Probably a commander.

“Why are you attacking? What clan are you from?” Her eyes were turned into slits.

“I'm from another world, I'm only attacking because you attacked first.” I receded my lightning blade fingers and held my hands up.

She stood silent and shocked for a moment. I was truly expecting her to think it was nonsense, but she whispered something to a subordinate of hers, who ran off into the main hall.

“What is your name?” she barked.

“Mo Star, or just Star.”

We stood there silently for a few moments. I broke the silence.

“Honestly, I just wanted to say hi, maybe get some information. I'm looking for people, and beasts.”

And a way out, but by now I knew. It would likely take the lord's access to travel in between, at least at the moment. One day, I may be able to swim across space.

“Well that was a very violent hello.” she stated with blank hostility.

I put on an exaggerated front “Well, would you expect? You attacked first, and I would not just be chased off like a dog. Furthermore, it's very difficult to defeat large groups of enemies without killing a few, you know? Honestly, it's your fault, you have terrible social skills as a clan.”

“We don't have much choice, we get attacked by the clans higher up constantly, not to mention beast hordes. You should know better than to wander into a clan without invitation!” She made some good points.

“Well, I couldn't get an invitation, could I?”

The woman snarled. She was tall even amongst the tall, her long and curly azure. She had an armored breastplate and leggings, but still showed plenty of skin.

It was hard to take sexy things seriously.

Suddenly, bust down the door of the main hall, out a… small giant. She was the size of an average human. She had the pale skin and signature white hair of the rest, and her clothes were the most revealing, as if a display of pride. A beauty, with a ponytail.

“What is going on here?!” she snapped. The large female commander kneeled, as did the rest. They told her I attacked them because I wanted to say hi. She laughed loudly and boisterously, “Brave and amusing human, you will have the honor of being slain by the queen herself. Ye Ning!” She summoned a large, double-bladed axe of hardened and dark blue ice.

I nodded, and my fingers shot out a lightning blade. Today, the queen would die.

Just as we clashed blades, a group of nearly naked men ran out from the main hall behind her, panting as if in a battle, or an orgy.

Her ice axe withstood a blow, but she was sent off balance, a man caught her. He had a magical collar on

I knew this man. An Icy mage, Light blue hair, and a nice carved body that was once covered with scars.
