《Montgomery and Carano》Chapter thirty-seven

The next morning Jenna woke up first. Greyish light filled the small flat. Robert peacefully snuffed beside her and she spent a couple of minutes laying there with her eyes closed, her head on the man's chest, listening to his steady heartbeat.
Her lower belly ached from what they did the evening, but she liked that gentle pain. In fact, she knew that for sore muscles the best medicine was some more workout and they were already in a bed…
Jenna started to stroke Robert's chest half with the tip of her fingers, half with her nails. He sighed and his arm that was wrapped around the girl's body made a move, his palm caressed her lower back. Jenna got goosebumps from that and hummed-purred like a cat.
'Good morning,' said Robert with a croaky voice that Jenna found very sexy. She kissed him after she said "good morning" too. He was very enthusiastic about the kiss and Jenna had to push him back onto his back.
'Patience,' she whirred quietly into his ears. Then she kissed him again, a little too passionately on purpose just because she enjoyed his reaction. The blanket thrown over them started to look like a tent around Robert's waist and this sight made Jenna's stomach taut a little. She bit her lips. Her hand left his chest a while ago and was now discovering the six vaguely outlining squares of his abs. She laid on her side, one hand busy with Robert, the other supporting her head and enjoying the view. She always assumed that Robert was skinny under those suits and him apparently working out was a nice surprise.
They kissed again as Jenna's hand went down very slowly. It ducked under the blanket and Robert moaned as the girl wrapped her fingers around his erection. She moved her hand up and down painfully slowly and then Robert ran out of patience and took over, turning her onto her back. She grinned and grabbed him, rolling him back, then gave a little laugh seeing his surprised face.
'I said patience, Montgomery.'
She was sitting on his thighs now, pinning him down with her own body. She leaned forward and kissed him again, first on the lips, then on his chest, enjoying his hardness pressed against her belly. Her kisses followed the way her hand just showed as she moved down, and she grinned at the loud groan Robert gave when the first little kiss landed on the tip of his thing.
Jenna kissed it again. Robert sighed again and his waist did an unwilling movement. Jenna smiled, then put her lips around his manliness and let it slide into her mouth. She managed to take the whole thing at once and Robert awarded that with a groan that was much louder than any of them before.
She knew what she was doing. She indulged him with practised moves and his groaning became constant very quickly. She loved to hear that. Her lips started to prickle. Robert grabbed her hair with both of his hands but he didn't try to control her at all.
The urge in Jenna's stomach tightened with every second gone by. It was time, she wanted, no, she needed Robert in her body right now. She sat up, took a deep breath and looked at the man. He was gently stroking her thighs, panting. She leaned forward hesitantly but he kissed her without a pause.
Jenna moved her hips carefully, blindly trying to find the right position, moaning every time Robert's thing touched her clitoris. Then she finally got it, she felt its tip inside her and she straightened her back, letting Robert fully into her. She half sighed, half moaned and he placed his palms onto her waists, groaning as well.

She lifted herself a little then lowered her body back, slowly. All of her muscles were shaking now, both inside and out. Her next move was just a tiny bit faster and then the next one faster again. The man filling her up felt amazing now, he was hard and just the right size for her. Soon she was riding wildly and Robert grabbed her boobs and she grasped them and his hands with them too and now the man moved as well, following her rhythm. She looked into his eyes and kept that contact as long as she could. Her back arched when the first orgasm exploded in her and shortly after came the second one and she didn't even mind that Robert finished in her after that because the pleasure started to take over, it had become overwhelming.
Jenna leaned forward and laid on Robert. He was still in her, but now it wasn't sexy, it just felt good. It felt right.
'Yeah…' she panted struggling to catch her breath. 'Definitely not that old.'
'The credit mostly yours,' he answered hoarsely, then hugging her. 'I'm just trying to keep up.'
'Nicely done,' she smiled and kissed him.
Jenna could have gone back to sleep right there as they were, but decided to get up instead. They both sighed when she let Robert go.
'I'm gonna take a shower… In a minute…' her legs were still shaky, and she really needed that minute to put herself together.
In the bathroom, the first thing she noticed was the toothbrush she used on the evening of the ghoul fight, in the plastic holder, next to Robert's. That made her grin.
As the hot water was pouring all over her sore body, she was thinking about how strange this all was. Her relationships ended at the point where she got out of the bed, but now she had to go back to the room soon and act like a functioning adult. What were people even doing when they weren't having sex? Talking? About what?
Also, there was that tiny little issue about the person she just slept with. It was a fucking Montgomery, for God's sake! She was taught, nay, trained that Montgomerys are the enemy.
Not to mention the feelings. The sex was good, probably in the top ten she ever had, but the reason why was scaring her. She had feelings for that man she just rode on, and it was a very new experience for her. She knew that sex and feelings usually came together, but she made a point not to do that. It sounded very dangerous.
Yet, here she was, taking a shower in Robert Montgomery's apartment, having all kinds of formerly unknown feelings, not knowing what to do and she somehow still didn't want to run away. How weird, Jenna thought.
Once she finished, she stepped out and wiped the mirror so she could see herself. Her eyes were sparkling, her lips swollen and red, her whole face was somehow lit up. She noticed that she was smiling. She wasn't surprised.
While Jenna brushed her teeth she was thinking about what she said to Robert back in the hospital. She meant all of that, every single word. And there was nothing wrong with all of this, after all. Two people who liked and found attractive each other had sex and will spend some time together. Nothing to see here, it was all normal.
She walked back into the room naked and still wet from the shower. A drop of water rolled down on her left breast and she grinned seeing that Robert cannot take his eyes off her.

'Can I borrow some clothes?' she asked.
Robert nodded and Jenna went to the wardrobe. She took a pair of boxers and a white shirt. She left that unbuttoned and enjoyed the man's appreciating looks.
'So, erm… We had sex,' she said while she sat down on the bed, next to Robert. 'Feels kinda weird, right?'
'A little,' he said. 'But it also feels… I am not sure. Feels… right? Natural? Normal?'
'It does,' she agreed and put her head onto Robert's shoulder. 'So… What now?'
Robert put his palm onto the inner side of her bare thigh. Jenna felt her lower belly shiver and grabbed his hand.
'No, I mean, yeah, we should totally do that again soon, but that's not what I was talking about. I meant that what now that we are… Kinda… I don't know, "together"?' she even showed the quotation marks with her fingers.
Robert kissed the top of her head.
'Now I'm going to take a shower. Then we are gonna have breakfast. After that, we will see. Sounds good?'
While he was away, Jenna scouted Robert's seemingly unused kitchen and stopped to stare at his coffee maker mistrustingly. It was a simple model with the filter inside and the big glass thing. Jenna was thinking about her own modern coffee machine and murmured something about people living in the last century.
There was some leftover coffee which made Jenna reevaluate her newborn relationship with Robert while she poured it out into the kitchen sink. Why on Earth would somebody in their right minds drink old coffee? So disturbing.
When Robert came back, there was fresh coffee in the glass and Jenna was pouring it into two mugs.
'Milk, right?' she asked and Robert nodded.
Jenna gave him a mug and kept the other then walked to the couch. She sat down, crossed her legs and looked at the books on the coffee table. The man put on sweatpants and a T-shirt then settled down next to her.
'Okay, coffee and breakfast,' she said. 'Then what?'
Robert looked at her with his eyebrow lifted.
'Are you alright, Jenna?'
She sighed and put down her coffee on the table. She fully intended to forget about it.
'I… I never made it this far and now I don't know what to do,' she admitted.
'Never?' Robert sounded surprised.
'Nope. My longest relationship was when I bumped into the guy's roommate on my way out in the middle of the night and I somehow ended up in bed with the two of them for a second turn… And I probably shouldn't tell you things like that… Shit.'
She felt embarrassed and wanted to hide her face because it went red. She bowed her head and let her hair do the job. That was all new: Jenna never cared about anyone enough to be embarrassed in front of them.
Robert put his arm around Jenna's shoulder and kissed her head.
'It's okay. Everybody has a past.'
She looked up, face still red a little but with some interest in her eyes.
'Do you, Montgomery? How many girls sneaked out of here at the first sunshine?'
'A couple. Most recently only you,' he said, taking a sip of coffee.
'Yeah, sorry about that. Force of habit.'
'Don't mention it,' he waved. 'However, I have been engaged once.'
Jenna's eyes opened big from the surprise.
'Really? Then how come you are not married? Wait, you aren't married, right? I'm really not against some group activity every now and then but if you just gonna say you are married I…'
'I am not married, Jenna,' he laughed. 'We split up after two years. It was… Very polite and low-key. In fact, that's how I would describe the whole relationship.'
She frowned, trying to understand.
'Then why did you propose to her? She sounds kinda boring.'
'Well, she wasn't an adrenaline-junkie demon hunter, which is apparently my type, that's for sure. She was smart and well mannered, also a sorceress with a doctorate in literature and a very good-sounding family name, if you know what I mean.'
Jenna nodded. Her family wasn't that rich and famous as Robert's but she knew that her father would give her away to the first guy asking if he could help Don Sebastiano get elected.
'So it was easy. She was nice and your family liked her and you ran to buy a ring like a good son to make your father proud,' she summed up.
Robert laughed again and nodded.
'That's exactly how it went, yes. She said yes and I was not the happiest man alive because I realised I just didn't care at all. That's actually how all of my relationships ended, I just lost what little interest I had, so I moved on.'
'Well isn't that reassuring?' Jenna shook her head, but she knew very well that if something's going to end this thing between them it won't be boredom. 'Now go and make me some breakfast quickly before you lost your interest in me…'
Robert got up and went to his fridge. He took out everything he found and stared at them critically.
'You can choose between French toast and something which is either a slightly withered orange or an unusually big tangerine. We also have pickles, for some reason.'
Jenna voted for the French toast and Robert got on it. While he was busy in the kitchen, the girl looked around to see how she could put on some music. Knowing Robert she expected some old fashioned way and wasn't disappointed when she found a turntable in the corner, behind a few towers of books. It had its own little cabinet with shelves for the records.
Jenna knew exactly what she was looking for. It took her a minute to find it amongst the lots of other records, and another minute to work out how the turntable worked.
'You really like this song, don't you?' Robert asked when he recognised the first guitar beats of the Wind of change.
'That's the original soundtrack of our first date,' she answered. 'You know, the one when we ended up killing undead monsters and I got a concussion.'
'Best first date ever,' nodded Robert and Jenna laughed. Then she walked up to Robert and hugged him from behind because it always looked good in the movies. It was so freaking weird to be this direct and intimate with someone. There was not enough amount of casual sex in the world to make her feel like this.
After they ate, Jenna washed the dishes then picked up Robert's cane. She whirled it between her fingers. Robert was at the corner, turning the record to the other side.
'Why do you like these things so much?' she asked.
'It is handy and classy at the same time,' he answered.
'It's silly and makes you look like a douchebag,' she replied and threw the cane at Robert, who caught it. He had lighting-quick reflexes.
'Not like I could ever use it again,' he shrugged. 'Now it's just a fancy stick. Maybe I should learn some kind of martial art…'
'Yeah, about that,' Jenna rolled up the sleeves of her borrowed shirt to show Robert that she didn't have her bracelets on. Then she closed her eyes, took a deep breath and said a simple word.
Magic roared in the room and something invisible grabbed the cane, tearing it out of Robert's hand. It flew over the length of the apartment and landed on Jenna's outstretched hand.
'What the… How?' Robert was astonished. Jenna said the word again, and the cane slowly levitated back to him.
'The Goddess,' she said. 'She is from a time when humans still knew the Old Talk, right? When I was fighting with her on Trafalgar Square I managed to catch the name of Movement. First, it was just a fun little curiosity but then Marcus said something the other day about you think you could still do magic if you had a way of using something other than written Runes…'
'Yes,' Robert nodded excitedly. 'I believe I still possess the ability. I can make Runes lit up if I'm concentrating really hard. So I figured if there was another way to activate them …'
'Like saying out loud their real name.'
Robert nodded again.
'Like saying out loud their real name,' he repeated.
It didn't work the first time and it still didn't work the tenth time. Jenna saw that Robert was losing his faith quickly even if he tried to hide that.
'Maybe something is wrong with your concentration…?' she guessed.
'Maybe button up your shirt,' he smiled.
'Fair enough,' Jenna grinned, looking down at her breasts. 'Why don't you try to use your emotions? I know they taught in school that you need a cold and clear head when you are doing magic, but my spells are always stronger if I back them up with some anger.'
'Which is exactly why they taught us not to do that,' pointed out Robert. 'Yes, anger can intensify the strength of your spells, but it also makes them unreliable, even dangerous for the caster. '
'I'm doing just fine so far,' Jenna shrugged. 'Try it.'
He did so. Jenna felt that her feet lifted from the wooden floor and she was flying right into Robert's arms, literally. He hugged her on impact and staggered back to keep his balance. It wasn't a perfect execution but it was real, working magic.
'Son of a bitch, you did it!' Jenna kissed him, and he kissed her back.
'But it wasn't anger,' he said then, still hugging Jenna in the middle of the room.
The girl blushed and she knew it.
'Listen to me very carefully now, Montgomery. If you say that it was me you were thinking about, I will be touched, really. I will also be very, very concerned about what to answer and we will end up having sex right here on the floor so I don't have to talk. Please, have mercy on my sore body and shut up.'
'It was you,' said Robert smiling.
'Oh, damn you, Montgomery…' Jenna said then she kissed him while she was pulling him down on the floor.

Oh, and his memories also told him the Sentinel Tower would change reality in six months to protect the planet from the Demonic Horde.
