《Bugs》Book 1 Epilogue

The news of the church's bounty set off waves in the western region but in the dark woods, a man ran while looking at the ground.
His eyes shined and in his eyes he could see a pair of footprints which he was following. He ran quickly to catch up but suddenly stopped as the footprint suddenly stopped and there was no more.
This was the spy of the church sent to follow Droso. He looked around, his tracking skill was made to find all traces of a person. He turned and ran into the woods and within a 100 meter radius of the footprint he looked but found nothing. He returned to the last footprint but suddenly a thought came to mind and he looked up and saw traces in the trees where he had to pass near brushing against them leaving a tiny trace on the branches and leaves.
“He took to the air.” he frowned but did not seem discouraged. After a moment he put his hand to his lips and whistled.
After a moment a giant red colored bird appeared and the man took out a rag which seemed to have Droso’s scent on it. “Follow this scent.” he said.
Jumping onto it’s back the bird screeched and flew into the air and began to look for Droso’s trace.

“Hya!” a high pitched scream came followed by the roar of pain from a monster.
“Wow! A Maiden of battle is really impressive.” a warrior muttered far away from the battle. The party around him was sweating but nodded.
“We are lucky they can’t expand their numbers so much or else they would have long surpassed the other churches.” someone in the party said.
The leader flinched and tried to shut them up but a huge explosion came and a small figure appeared, “Who said that!? Come out and die!” the voice said and the men cried out in fear and ran before the little figure rushed them with killing intent and rage.

In the central region, within a small guildhouse, members were hard at work. Most of them were craft class players. At that moment someone quickly ran into the building and up to the second floor and entered the office room of the leader.
“Boss! Look at this!” he shouted.
The man didn’t wait as he handed a piece of paper to the boss. This boss was Droso’s real life boss, Jonas Beethoven. He read the paper and scowled. “Is this real?” he asked.
“Yes sir, it just came out.” the man said.
“Hmm…” Jonas thought, “Is there anyone near the western region?” he asked.
“There are a few.” he said.
“Pick someone with a combat class and send them over to protect them and help them out.” he said.
“Yes sir!” the man said and ran out to do the order.
Jonas went back to work but burned the wanted notice for Droso before doing so.

Cycles of Ruin
Civilizations rise and fall. Kith build them up and monsters, led by powerful dungeon keepers, bring them to ruin. For three thousand years the cycle has been maintained by the Guild of Chaos and its endless hordes of minions who—in absence of their long lost creators—have taken it upon themselves to keep the realms of the universe in balance. The Guild has grown efficient at this task, but some among its ranks have begun to ponder the utility of a universe that has been robbed of the very possibility of change. Basil von Doom is one such dungeon keeper working for the Guild, leading an army of loyal minions from one conquest to the next; burning civilizations and sifting through the ruins in search of forbidden knowledge that the races of kith were never meant to possess. But having spent more than half a century in pursuit of glory and fame—trying to live up to the legacy of his father—Basil has grown indifferent towards his work. Desperate for a worthy challenge, but bound by his duties as a dungeon keeper, he has turned his mind towards uncovering the ultimate fate of the previous master of his house and the secrets that were buried with him. Now the young Master of House Doom must balance his growing interest in pursuing the trail of his father with the responsibilities that come with running a dungeon in service to the Guild of Chaos. To remain in good standing with the Guild, Basil has even accepted the task of mentoring an apprentice dungeon keeper, a young succubus named Elnora. It is at the tail end of her apprenticeship that the story begins; with a civilization poised to fall—its greatest heroes gathering for one last assault on the heart of darkness—and Basil striking up a conversation with his apprentice that will set into motion the unraveling of the universe. ***This is a rewrite and continuation of my story that was first posted on RoyalRoad a few years ago.
