《Dungeon AI》Chapter 15 - War preparation part 3

"Well, now that that's all out of the way, Sarah, I'm going to talk to the Princess now. Anna is going to be out for the next couple of hours while she rests from prosthetic rehab."
"Okay, make sure to send me a live feed so that I can get the translation down faster. For some reason whenever you record stuff is always in English, but whenever I'm watching or listening they always speak in their native language. But you continue to speak in English. I guess the HUD does all the translation in their heads."
I opened up the channel from my re-created wandering boss. I had been using the infiltrator for the interrogation. I need to make some modifications to it so that it will look like he is breathing. But that can wait until I get done with the Princess. One of the cargo bays had been converted into multiple rooms; if need be, I can eject the entire cargo room with all the prisoners inside. Thereare eight rooms, but only four of them are occupied by prisoners. Sarah had been using one of her commander drone bodies to help out with the Princess, so she looked human. Apparently, there is some kind of misunderstanding going on between the two of them because the Princess kept throwing things at Sarah.
Unlike the other three prisoner rooms, this one had been designed for comfort. We are dealing with the mentally 12-year-old girl. After all, I wasn't going to lock her up in a bland room. I was planning on locking her up in a padded room in a straitjacket, but when Steve and Andrew woke up they said that it was a bad idea.
I didn't understand it. She was technically crazy. Therefore she should be in apadded room and be wearing straitjacket. But then Sarah chimed in saying that's not the proper method either. So I had to change it. The room was still padded, but this time it had a proper bed, desk, and some various exercise equipment. She was going to have to relearn how to use her body, and Sarah was going to help her out with that. We could easily get a drone to do it, but Sarah needs to learn the language, so two birds one stone.

I walked into the room to see Sarah and the one I now know as Millie sitting across from each other, playing a game of chess. Surprisingly Sarah was losing.
"Cray, great you're here. I guess I better put this away for now."
Millie smiled and said "She says that phrase every time she's about to lose."
"Hello Millie, my name is Cray. The girl quickly trying to get rid of the chess board is named Sarah."
"Yes, I know. I figured it out. How come I can't understand her though?"
"She doesn't have access to the HUD and has to learn things the slow way."
"Wait, how is that possible. Everything has access to the HUD. Even animals and some particularly smart plants. Does this mean all giants don't have access to the HUD?" She turned her head from Sarah to look at me.
"No, and you'll get to meet some that do have access, but Sarah won't be getting access to the HUD. Not until, well, that's a secret for now."
"So you work with giants. Is it true, did they invented the artifacts?"
I chuckled at this. "Yes, and you're actually on a functioning one right now..."
"I'm pretty sure I'm dead."
Okay wasn't expecting that. "Why do you think you're dead?"
"Well, the last thing I remember was being crushed and burned alive by a falling beam. Next thing I know I wake up in a room with a label over the door saying Purgatory, so I'm pretty sure I'm dead." She smiled when she finished speaking.
"Actually, several sections of the ship have been given weird names like that. There is one room called Haven, another called 'stay out of Jim's room', and another called 'here be spiders'. But I'm pretty sure the last one is just because a few of the drones went sentient on me."

Millie showed a confused expression. "What are spiders?"
"I don't think you guys actually have natural spiders. Let me get a few and show you. Suddenly I felt the impact of a pillow against the side of my head, and a message from Sarah at the same time.
(Do not show this girl spiders, humans freak out when they see spiders.
I don't know what she is going to do when she sees one of them.)
"Okay, I guess I can't show you the spiders. Sarah says you'd probably scream when you see them." Organics are just weird. They're only drone spiders. Humans have real ones in their houses all the time. It's not like it's a shade spider. Those are designed to be terrifying. Although it was weird how that one guy fainted. The drone hadn't even deployed its camouflage in time, so all he saw was just a modified spider drone when he fainted.
"Are they some kind of monster?"
"No, I mainly use them for repairs. But we've gone off topic, you're alive, but from what we could tell of the people who were delivering you none of them knew what was going on. The last three days or so have been completely wiped from their memories."
"So what do you plan on doing with me?"
Right now we're planning on getting you through physical rehabilitation. Sarah is going to be helping you out with that, and she'll be trying to learn your language at the same time. If you're having problems with translation use the button on the center of the table to get a hold of me."
Millie looked down at her frail and skeletal like arms. Millie muttered under her breath. "I feel dead. What happened to me?"
I tried to speak in a kind voice. "We will have you back to normal in two weeks. You're going to have to eat some food that from what I've heard is...disgusting. But it will greatly increase your healing and muscle growth."
"Yes, but what do you plan on doing with me after I'm healed?"
Completely deadpanned, I said. "Destabilize a kingdom."

Yang enrolls in the Imperial Officers’ Academy to study history, but despite his unusual and unmistakeable talent as both a tactician and a scholar, his classmates resent him for being a visible outsider. When tensions at the school boil over and several of Yang’s classmates attempt to murder him, Yang finds an unlikely ally in the top student in the class: the aloof Oskar von Reuenthal.
