In contrast to everyone’s expectation, the school didn’t bring the students back to Tokyo straight away even after that horrifying incident.
Hoping to calm the students’ mind, Tokyo Arifu High School decided to let them enjoy the beautiful sceneries of Okinawa instead.
Of course, some parents didn’t agree and wanted to see their children as soon as possible. For this case, school either sent the students home or brought the parents here.
The government and many Japanese people, mostly Okinawa natives, who took a pity on these high school students also donated their money to give them the best holiday.
Everyone called that incident ‘Naha’s raid’. Although there were not many casualties, the incident really changed people’s mindset about monsters.
It was the first time the world saw six airplane sized monsters appeared at the same time.
Aside from Kiyomori Shin who was applauded as a hero, there was also a mysterious mutant, that killed two of the monsters in an instant.
From the footage, both media and government couldn’t find out the identity of this mutant. They only saw the monsters suddenly exploded into pieces. Even the person who was almost killed in that situation only saw the monster in front died and nothing else.
No one thought the monsters were destroy out of blue for no reason. Therefore, everyone believed it was a doing of someone.
Some people cursed this mutant for not finishing the last monster as well. If it wasn’t for Kiyomori, all the students would have already died.
The other side debated that the mysterious mutant must have used up all his power.
However, no one could refute this mysterious figure’s contribution in killing two monsters. The government gave him the title of ‘Naha Mysterious Hero’ and hoped that he could show up and receive the rewards.
The Government’s intention here was obvious that they wanted to recruit this powerful figure. Many countries also investigated about this ‘Naha Mysterious Hero’ secretly as everyone wanted to know his real identity.
They all knew his real value, especially Japanese Government. From the military report, they found out that the soldiers used up to hundreds of armor-penetrating bullets and dozens of explosives just to take down one Grasshopper.
The power to kill two plane-sized insects in an instant was unbelievable adn cost-effective.
Not only just leaders of countries, almost all of the leaders of powerful organization in the light and dark started to pay more attention to the mutants and monsters.
Unknowingly, this small incident had caused a huge undercurrent on Earth.
However, one of the main target of every leaders, Kiyomori Shin was currently spending his time nonchalantly enjoying the fresh sceneries of the temples in Okinawa.
Because he had also killed a beetle in one strike, Kiyomori was also titled ‘Naha Hero’ and was secretly under observation. He also got the reward of ten millions yens from Government.
Well, the problem was…
Thud!
In the dark valley, a figure suddenly dropped from the rooftop and landed on the ground unconscious. No one knew if he was still alive.
“Fourteenth..” mumbled Lucien. Because everyone could see Kiyomori’s power from youtube, he had became the target of many dark organizations.
‘And now I have to act as his plot armor behind the scene..’

Lucien could only sigh. Because Kiyomori was now popular, many girls and boys surrounded him everywhere he went. If the kidnappers were to take action many students would have been hurt as well.
This was why Lucien had to secretly do this cleaning job. Although they were not his friends, he didn’t want his schoolmate to accidentally get hurt, especially the girls who idolized him.
Well, the main reason was that he got the weird feeling. He felt that even if he didn’t do anything, as a ‘protagonist’, Kiyomori wouldn’t receive any harm.
However, the feeling of seeing the fate’s puppet annoyed him. He wanted to disrupt this flow somehow.
‘Or should I just kill this Kiyomori once and for all?’
The idea was rejected instantaneously. If all these ‘Protagonist’ hypothesis and his feeling were right and Kiyomori was a hero, Lucien couldn’t just kill a hero, right?
Hero will save the world. Everyone knew. He also knew. So, if he kill him, it would mean he destroy the world.
‘There is a reason this guy was made into a protagonist.’
The process didn’t require much energy from him anyway as all he needed to do was to either blowing the kidnappers from the rooftop with Wind Manipulation or paralysing them with Paralyse.
“Haaa..”
Lucien sighed. He didn’t want to mention it but there was another reason he helped Kiyomori.
He had already found out that the guy who dropped the bucket last night in onsen was him.
‘That guy is hating me so much seeing his potential harem being licked like that..’
Lucien’s action this time could be counted as a compensation for NTRing him. Although Kiyomori kept sending him murderous intent from time to time, he tried to ignore it.
“Lucien-kun, this place is so beautiful!”
Rina smiled brightly as she hugged his right arm. She acted so intimate with him.
Many girls were looking at her with jealous gazes as the commotion broke out again.
!!!
Of course, Lucien was shocked. He didn’t see this coming at all. He thought that their relations should be severed after last night and Rina would hate him to the core.
“R-Rina!”
Lucien quickly took his arm away from her. He said, “I told yo-”
Before he could finish the sentence, Rina cut in, “We are still friends, right?”
“Y-Yeah..”
Her words really baffled him but he couldn’t do anything. He only reminded her again, “I already have a girlfriend, okay?”
Rina only smiled and said, “I know, Lucien-kun. But we can still be friends, right?”
“Umm”
‘Are all women this optimistic?’ Lucien felt another headache.
Seeing his approval, Rina dragged him here and there to indulge in sceneries and taking selfies.
What nagging Lucien was that he could see those two side characters who were normally with Rina, following them around from distance. For some reasons, the two girls only looked at them from afar.
‘And what’s wrong with you, you fucking Shin-kun! I’m the one being dragged here!’ The intensity of Kiyomori’s killing intent had been multiplying since Rina dragged him around.
In the afternoon, they went to Shuri Castle, one of the must-visits in Okinawa. This castle had been destroyed and rebuilt multiple times over the centuries. It was very big, painted with red, looking beautiful.

This place really gave Lucien the feeling of ancientness. As the Castle sat atop a hill, everyone were treated with a nice view over the city.
‘Twentyninth…’
Even as he was enjoying the trip, Lucien still had to beat the assassins. ‘Just how many are there!?’
Little did he know that most of the ‘assassins’ he knocked out were actually the bodyguards sent by Japanese Government to protect Kiyomori in secret.
Suppressing the annoyance he felt, Lucien activated Eyes of the Truth Seeker to appreciate the sceneries to the fullest.
Of all skills, he had three Eyes skill.
First of all, Eyes of the Truth Seeker. This skill increased his vision range and to some extent, allowed him to see through the obstacles. He could also detect the monsters, traps and hidden objects too.
Second one is Insight of the Divine Masseur. This skill allowed him to see the internal organs, blood vessels, muscles, etc. of the ‘applicant of his massage’ and know where he needed to attend. Because of the restriction, this skill was useless in battle.
However, it could be considered as the dream-skill of all doctors and physicians!
There was also a hidden effect of granting the target the intense pleasure. Lucien had never tried it but this was a skill that could force normal people to moan just by being looked at!
The third one was Eyes of Vivacy. This skill was purely made for battle. It allowed him to see things in slow motion. Every movement in his vision became clearer than clear with this skill.
Moreover, from what Alicia told him, if this skill continued to grow, he would be able to see the pureness of souls and other stuffs. Although he didn’t understand her explanation, it should be a good thing.
As the skill level was still low and the cost was very high, Lucien couldn’t use the skill to its full potential.
Thinking about his Eyes skill, Lucien thought of his Mythical Veil of Ethereal Serenity. ‘The Myth rank skill shouldn’t only have the effect of concealment and weak illusion, right?’
He somehow thought of when he received the skill Concealment. To be more precise, he was recalling of the time he finished the True Acting Path. Of course, the memory was vague to him and he couldn’t remember the exact lines from system. But he remembered the last line.
‘The last line was actually intriguing. No one can see me. No one I can’t see…’
Because of this line, he got Concealment and Eyes of the Truth Seeker. Based on the system, his affinity with acting skill was quite high.
‘So for this skill to be created, it couldn’t just take the concealment side, right?’
At this moment, Lucien was sitting on the bench while waiting for Rina who went to buy something for them to eat.
Lucien entered his concealment mode right away. Then, he activated Eyes of the Truth Seeker with the feel of Mythical Veil of Ethereal Serenity.
‘...’
Everything in his vision changed. It was like he had jumped into another dimension. The only thing assuring Lucien that he was still on Earth was the vague line of buildings and people walking around.
Lucien really didn’t know how to describe what he was seeing. Everything was just… weird.
The sky was colorful, just like rainbow, no, something closer to aurora. He could see numerous tiny dots with variety of colors floating everywhere.
‘Based on my professional guess as someone who watched all the fantasy animes, these tiny things should be either mana, or elements.’
Lucien nodded to himself like a sage who was enlightened. There was no shock reaction from him at all as his mindset was already tempered from the fantasy animes and movies.
‘Although this is weird, it is not that weird…’
Feeling the pain from his eyes, Lucien felt that he was at the limit of using this skill. It had only been around 10 seconds since he activated it.
‘I’m a bit disappoin-’
“W-WHAT THE HECK!!!!!?”
Lucien screamed like a girl seeing a ghost for the first time. Right when he was about to release the skill, he turned his head to look at Shuri Castle.
Thud! Thud!
His mind turned blank as he unconsciously step back. Although his eyes were screaming in pain, he had already forgot to do anything and just staring.
On top of Shuri Castle was a humongous lion-like creature. It had a ferocious looking face and fire red fur. Its mane, tail and four ankles was covered in burning cloud. Its appearance was truly of a Saint Beast. Moreover, its size was even bigger than a mountain.
RAORRRRR!!!!!!
The beast roared toward the West, the ocean side, as its voice shook the sky. Although there was no physical impact, Lucien felt like being hit by an invisible current, pushing him dozens of meters away. His eardrum almost popped out from the earth-shaking roar.
“W-What is that thing…”
Finally, Lucien regained his sense. His eyes were hurt like hell but he could still endure the pain.
The monstrous creature seemed to detect Lucien’s existence all of sudden as it slowly turned to face him.
‘Shit! My concealment must have worned out from that ‘attack’!’
Actually, the real reason the beast found him was not because of the roar. It was because it felt his staring.
In the split second Lucien was deactivating his skill, their eyes met.
Bam!
In an instant, his body was sent flying a few meters away just from meeting its eyes. Moreover, all his internal organs were damaged as blood gushed out from every places of his body.
Lucien coughed out a lot of blood from his mouth.
His clothes were dyed red as he struggled to stand up. However, he didn’t have time to grunt or even curse that fucking lion, he quickly faced the direction the lion roared toward.
Numerous beautiful translucent feathers and spears formed around him. Lucien tried his best to ignore the pain that was screaming from his whole body. He then muttered with a serious face,
“The real Raid is coming...”

Author's Note: (This is my first story, and I would be very thankful if grammatical errors were pointed out. I could also take a few suggestions in the comments if you would. This is less a planned production, and more a little project that I'm winging as it goes. I will try and be consistent with at least 2 chapters a week. Also, as I am a completely new author, the number of words per chapter may fluctuate. The minimum will be around 1000 words, while other chapters may be 2000-3000. It will hopefully only get better with time.)

Title if this was a japanese web-/lightnovel: "This world was boring, so we decided to invade another one.""Magic, some see it as an overused element in fictional works, others as a at least currently incomprehensible technology. 8 179Sanguine
The Coles are probably the definition of a small dysfunctional family, even if they weren’t the worst in existence; they would probably be lauded as an example of the term. The Coles were a small family though. The father, Oliver Cole, was an asshole ex-football jock who bounced around in small paying jobs after wasting most of his life drinking, drugging and whoring. The daughter, Stacy Cole, was smart, but had many issues including anger, trouble with authority, and occasional suicidal thoughts, and was kicked out of many a school for disruptive behaviour. The son, Mike Cole, was innocent, and tried his best to be kind to anyone and everyone, however his own speech impediment, and slow nature only aided people to bully and belittle him, including his own father. The Coles were indeed a dysfunctional family. At least they were, until they got to the small town near the border between the United States and Canada, Sanguine. Welcome to Sanguine. You will stay. With the exception of the first chapter, each chapter only follows one character. The first chapter is the only chapter in which I will include 'Sides' where it follows a different character. This is a short Lovecraftian story, it won't go above seventeen chapters. Note: the book cover is my first attempt, it might not even remain like it is, I was just tired of seeing the standard 'no cover' thing on it.
