A few days had passed by since Alicia told him about tutorial. From that day, Lucien had not started to train like crazy. He continued his daily life normally like he wasn’t in a rush.

The only difference was that he spent more of his time studying the history and mythology.

When Alicia asked him if he would tell the world about what would happen in the future, Lucien just shook his head with a smile and said, “There is no need to do anything.”

‘Well, let’s deal with the situation in front of me first.’

Right now, he was at Naha Airport, the airport in Okinawa. It was the school field trip to Okinawa. Around him were his classmates and students from four other classes.

As they had just arrived, many students including him were looking here and there excitedly. Most of them had never come to Okinawa before. However, that joyful atmosphere was broken by an ear-shattering sound behind their back.

BOOM!

Everyone turned back to look at the airplane they had just gotten down from. What greeted them was the debris of that airplane and burnt corpse of an enormous beetle.

That beetle was… a monster.

It suddenly crashed the plane from above smashing the plane, however the plane exploded, taking its life together.

Everyone’s face paled and their legs’ trembled. If they had gotten down from the plane 15 minutes later, they would have already died. However, one of the girls took out her phone and selfied with the scene instead.

‘Really?’

That was what in everyone’s head see the girl was smiling at the camera. Suddenly, another woman screamed as she fell to the ground, pointing at the runway.

“AHhhhhh!”

The commotion erupted in the hall and everyone started to run.

BOOOOOMM!!

Another boom rangout as the glass shattered into pieces from the impact. There was another beetle destroying another plane and died again. In the sky, three more beetles were flying straight to the airport.

Although these beetles were not of the same species, they all had the size of an airplane.

Lucien felt a steak of sweat on his forehead as his eyes glowed a light blue color. Looking around with Eyes of the Truth Seeker, he found that aside from the three beetles, there was another grasshopper breaking its way into the airport from the other side.

Although their powers weren’t at the level of monsters form Abyss, the size alone would be even more destructive to the modern Earth.

‘Just how does this happen suddenly? Moreover, why does it have to be now?’

Lucien looked around and found Kiyomori Shin being being scared shitless hiding behind the chair. Next to him was a corpse of Bully#2 with his head pierced by the glass.

Although Lucien used Mana Shield to block most of the glass shards flying this way, he couldn’t make it big enough to cover everyone.

“Is this whole situation caused by Kiyomori’s protagonist fate?” mumbled Lucien as he had seen the bully gang was taking Kiyomori’s wallet before the first plane exploded.

“L-Lucien-kun.”

He felt a tug of his shirt from behind. It was Rina. She was so scared that she buried her face into his back.

Immersing in the situation, he couldn’t help but blurted out coolly, “Don’t worry Rina, I will protect you.”

Hearing his words, Rina cried and hugged him from behind, trembling.

‘Why is the temperature colder all of sudden?’ Lucien, however, felt the chillness ran through his spine for a second.

Ahhhhh

Help! Help!

He snapped back to reality and found out the the monsters had already broken into the airport, sending debris everywhere.

As the beautiful girl was hugging him, he couldn’t use concealment and deal with the monsters one by one with his body. However, these flies weren’t that strong after all.

‘Gale Manipulation’

Bang!

Without lifting his fingers, the wind turned into an invisible hammer crushing the nearest beetle into pasted in an instant. Weird liquid splashed out to everyone in the surrounding.

This was what he could do now with his much higher level Gale Manipulation, intelligent, wisdom and control. Although he couldn’t deal with Abyss monsters with just this, these small big-sized flies were nothing.

Screeeeeech!

The grasshopper from the other side of the airport screeched before it died pitifully. Because that side was the entrance of the airport, there were more security guards and soldiers. As a result, the monster was shot into beehive from numerous bullets before it could cause more destruction.

Unfortunately, tens of people still died from its short appearance.

Splash!

Another beetle was pressured into mincemeat from Lucien’s powerful gale. At this moment, he was hiding behind the bathroom door with Rina while looking at the outside situation with his Eyes skill.

Eyes of the Truth Seeker allowed him to look through the obstacle and increased the range of his eyesight. It was one the skill he used daily as he used it every time Alicia took a bath. Its level should have passed 60 by now.

The last beetle, not knowing the deaths of its friends, went straight to the group of Lucien’s schoolmates. Kiyomori, who was in the front row, couldn’t move his body as he trembling on the ground.

Although the monster was flying to his way, Lucien didn’t kill it straight away as he wanted to see if Kiyomori really had a plot armor as a protagonist. He decided to make his move at the last second.

‘If he awake his power at this situation, he is definitely a protagonist.’

Thud! Thud!

Every steps of the giant beetle caused small earthquakes on the floor, breaking the tiles along the way.

Everyone screamed and cried for help. They were all packed in the public toilet and couldn’t run away. Rina pushed Lucien’s head into her moderate size bosom as she screamed desperately.

Lucien could feel the chill becoming colder and colder as he was enjoying the nice feeling.

The people who was pushed to the outside of the public W.C., including Kiyomori, didn’t run away because they were scared that the monster would chase them instead.

Gahhhh

The beetle roared(?) as it swung its front leg accurate at Kiyomori. Although there were many students there, Kiyomori was the first one to be aimed.

‘As expect of the child of fate,’ thought Lucien while rubbing his face against the two white soft buns. His hands unconsciously became naughty as he secretly enjoyed Rina’s body.

From Kiyomori’s perspective, time seemed to slow down as he watched the creepy monstrous insect leg slowly move towards him.

‘Am I going to die?’ thought him subconsciously.

At that moment, he felt something warm rushing in his body. The feeling was like something was flowing very fast throughout his whole body.

His mind flashed the picture of his mom, dad, little sister and the one he was in love with, Yukihino Rina. He knew that his Rina-chan was somewhere behind him and he resolved himself to protect her.

Thinking of her smile, a flame suddenly lit up in his heart igniting his burning will. He stretched out his hand forward and shouted in his mind, ‘I will protect you, Rina-chan!’

BOOM! Splash!

A pillar of stone suddenly appeared from the floor and went straight through the beetle’s head, killing it instantly. Its disgustingly bodily fluid splashed to the students around.

Seeing the situation, everyone was stunned speechless, not caring about their own dirty bodies.

“W-We have survived..”

After a while, someone spoke absentmindedly, waking everyone to the reality. Following his words, many people cried and cheers erupted from the group.

“Yeahhhh!!!”

“We’ve survived!!!”

“Thanks God!!”

Meanwhile, Lucien was watching the whole scene with his widened eyes. ‘Wasn’t that… too overpowered?’

He was so shocked that he wasn’t aware of his lips was being pressed by Rina’s in front of him. She was so happy that she kissed him out of joy.

After a while did Lucien woke up by being locked by the two killing intents. One from the unknown person that he couldn’t sense and another one from the lying figure next to the beetle’s corpse, Kiyomori Shin.

He suddenly blushed upon realizing that his lips had been stole by Rina. He quickly pulled his lips away and exclaimed, “R-Rina-chan!?”

Only then Rina became aware of what she had done, she looked at Lucien with a red face before lowering her gaze.

Following her gaze, Lucien found both of his hands under her skirt, squeezing her soft round cute buttcheek.

“S-Sorry Rina-chan. That was u-unintentional.” Quickly taking back his hands, Lucien sighed in relief. ‘Thanks gods, Alicia isn’t here or else she would kill me.’

Rina didn’t say anything but didn’t move away from him either. Instead, she became even closer to him as they walked out of the toilet room. They did not mention about the kiss at all.

After the cheers subsided, everyone became curious at how a stone pillar suddenly appeared from the ground. One of the guys who was the nearest to Kiyomori suddenly shouted.

“It was this guy, everyone! He saved us!”

Then, another guy said, pointing at Kiyomori, “He must have awaken his power!”

Just like that, everyone looked at Kiyomori with gratitude. Some girls even asked his Line ID straight away.

Kiyomori, however, was lying on the ground exhausted. That pillar just now had sucked his mana dried.

He didn’t respond to anyone and just looked at a certain direction. To be precise, he looked at Lucien with an eye filled with murderous intent.

Lucien could only thought, ‘What the heck?’ and tried to ignore his gaze. ‘It’s not like I’m wrong. I was the one being humiliated here!’

From the whole situation, only one of all students had died, which was Bully#2. Many students suffered light wounds but thankfully, there was no heavily wounded one.

The soldiers quickly rushed in and secured everyone’s safety. All the students from Tokyo Arifu high school were sent to the 5 stars ryokan, a traditional Japanese inn, to rest as some people would come to interview them the next day.

This incident caused lots of sensation to the whole world as dozens people had died. People started to send their money to their respective countries’ military, hoping the government could use it to ensure their safety.

Moreover, Kiyomori Shin got onto the headline newspaper as someone who awaken his power to save his friends and killed the humongous beetle.

This caused everyone to pay more attention to mutants and saw them in the new light. Many kids even wanted to awaken the power and become heroes.

Lucien silently watched the news in his hotel room thinking of the whole situation. He was frowning as he mumbled,

“Not only I’m not a protagonist, I even managed to become a villain who stole the protagonist’s girl?”

*Sigh* Just what is wrong with this world?

Knock! Knock!

Right when he was about to unpack his bag and preparing his bathing tools, a sound of knocking came from the outside.

Opening the door, he found the beautiful Rina standing outside in a plain yukata. In her hands was a bucket of bathing tools.

“Lucien-kun,” said Rina with a red face. “I heard that the onsen of this place is very good. Moreover, there is a mixed bathing room…”

“...” Lucien tried to stay calm on the outside but his heart was already pounding hardly. He repeated the mantra in his head, ‘I only have Alicia. I only have Alicia. I only have Alicia. I only-’

“My friends said they were exhausted and wanted to sleep early so I can only go there by myself,” Rina looked at him with her beautiful eyes. “It would be very lonely so…”

Clank!

Something seemed to break in Lucien’s mind. It was something called ‘morality’.
