《A Mere Fate of Mine》Chapter 24 I’m just an ordinary high school student (1)

Today was normal for Lucien Santosa, an ordinary 16 years old boy, just like any other day.
He was currently eating breakfast with his family of five. It was such a nice and peaceful time.
Although he only had half an hour left before the school started, he was in no hurry as he put his priority on having a family time.
“Aww, Lala is the best girl!”, said his mom as she fed his little sister, Lavinia Santosa, who was currently a 9 months old baby.
She was so little and cute that Lucien couldn’t help but smile every time he looked at her.
“Awww, Lalaa”, his heart melted.
“Hey, Lulu, don’t be a siscon! She is your blood-related sister!”
Just when he was being mesmerized by Lala’s cuteness, a girl’s voice interrupted him. Lucien was taken aback.
“What the heck, Alicia? What’s wrong with me sending Lala a loving gaze as a brother. Moreover, how do you even know the word ‘Siscon’!?”
This girl was Alicia, also a member of his family. She was his relative from far away. At least, this was what in her citizen registration said.
She looked just a few years older than Lucien. Her appearance was so beautiful that people would have a heart attack upon seeing her. With her light blonde hair with pink highlighted, oceanic blue eyes and snow white skin, if she had a pair of wings, anyone would recognise her as an angel.
Her outer appearance was not similar to Santosa’s family member at all.
“Is that what you call a loving gaze, Lulu?” Alicia then blocked his line of sight with her sexy body.
“Don’t look at my Lala with your creepy eyes!”
“Woah, that’s hurt, Alicia!”
Lucien then sent her a teasing look. “It’s not that you are jealous, right?”
“J-Jealous of what?” Alicia seemed a bit flustered.
“Hehe,” he laughed as he pinched her cheeks. “My beautiful sis Alicia, you are always my number one, alright?”
“Ah~” Alicia felt weak being in contact with his hand. She even stumbled and almost fell on the floor.
“Geez, Lu-chan, stop teasing Alicia-chan already, she is your big sister.” Right, his mom called him ‘Lu-chan’. Normally, she would call him Lulu like Alicia but ever since they moved to Japan, she changed it to Japanese way.
“Argh, mom, it’s you who need to stop putting ‘-chan’ after my name.” Only then Lucien let go of his hands, leaving Alicia pouting cutely.
“Well, if you don’t like it, I will stop, Lulu-chan!” giggled his mom. Although she was already in her 40s, she still acted a young girl. However, her appearance was fresh like a young beautiful maiden even after giving births to two children.
Lucien facepalmed and looked at his dad, who had several white hair on his head. Is this really my dad and mom? Not dad and another big sister?
“Hey, son, she is my real wife and she is 100% your mom!” His dad who had been silence the whole time suddenly talked.
It was not that he was a quiet guy but he had been making stupid faces, playing with Lala. He was no different from Lucien.

“Woah, dad, how do you know what I was thinking!?”, exclaimed Lucien.
“Did you already forget I was the one who taught you mindreading, son!?”, said his dad proudly.
Lucien didn’t like losing to his dad like this so turned to his mom, “Mom, dad is giving Alicia a lewd gaze again!”
“Really, Darling?” Fire seemed to spout out from his mom’s eyes. She was like a devil incarnation.
“W-What the heck, Son? D-Dear K-Kathlene, c-calm down, he is lying!” His dad, Stevan, sweated profusely from his wife’s killing intent.
“Mom, Dad said your cute little son is a liar!”
“Woah, Darling! You dare to say our cute little son is a liar?” Kathlene’s killing intent multiplied. “We have something to talk after breakfast, okay?”
“D-Dear, trust your little husband here. Moreover, our son is not little any-” He stopped after seeing a fork in his wife hand.
Lucien laughed slyly seeing the situation. His mom had always been doting him so much since young. She trusted everything he said.
In the past, his dad also spoiled lovingly. However after Lucien turned naughty from his own teaching, his dad had been suffering a lot. He regretted teaching his son cunningness so much that he would raise his Lala into a pure little angel this time.
Meanwhile, Alicia was watching everything with a smile,”Aww, what a cute family.”
After finishing his meal, Lucien hugged Alicia and Lala warmly. “I’ll be going to school then. Bye mom, bye dad! Bye bye, Alicia and Lala!”
“Have fun at school, Lu-chan!.”
“Good luck, son!”
“Ba bai Luuu~”
‘Damn it! Lala is so cute!’
“Uhh, I want to go to school too.” Said Alicia pitifully when she walked Lucien to the front gate.
“Rest for a bit more, Alicia.” Lucien smiled warmly as he patted her head. Now he was alone with her outside in his school uniform.
“I promised I’ll take you to school later, okay?” Then he hugged her again.
“okay,” Alicia said unwillingly.
“Be a good girl, okay?”
“okay”
“You are mine, okay?”
“oka- W-What?”
“Ahehe”, Lucien laughed craftily as he quickly pinched her cheek with Euphoria Touch and quickly run away.
“Ah!” Alicia screamed as she blushed. “Lulu!!”
“Love you, Alicia!” Lucien shouted from far away.
“Hah..” She could only sighed at this moment. Her Lulu had been more and more naughty since she ‘woke’ up. Well, it’s not like she hate it either though sometimes it made her uncomfortable.
‘He’s still thinking of me as his sister, right?’
And this was what Lucien’s, a normal highschool boy, every morning like.
-----------------------------------------
Back in the living room, Kathlene and Stevan was thinking about three months ago.
That night was very dark and solemn. Stevan and Kathlene were sleeping when they heard the bell rang. They were both astonished as they quickly get up from the bed.
Stevan even took a gun out of his cupboard, ready to kill any intruder. His action scared Kathlene so much but she quickly held onto her baby. She was also ready to protect Lala with all her life.

The air in the room was tense as Stevan took out his phone to text someone. Until a weak voice was heard. The voice was very quiet but they still managed to catch it.
“..mom... dad….”
Kathlene’s eyes widened when she heard it. She quickly rushed to the door, almost falling down from the stair and opened the door.
Her tears flooded out like a broken dam when she saw a young man in front of her. His whole body was covered in blood as his face was paler than a sheet. He stood there weakly as he looked at her for a second.
It was her son. No way would Kathlene forget her own son. Although he looked a bit taller and had a very long hair, she could recognise him just from a glance.
“L-Lulu..*sob*…” She uttered with a shaking voice, sobbing.
Thud!
Stevan who followed his wife like mad dropped the gun as he trembled.
“..S-Son?...”
A streak of tears flowed out of his eyes uncontrollably for the first time after dozens of years.
The couple was happy and grief at the same time. Their son was back but he seemed like dying.
While the two were stunned, their son walked past them without saying anything, carrying a blood soaked woman in his arm. The woman’s wound was even scarier than her son’s with two holes on her chest and abdomen.
He walked to his room where he used to live years ago and place the woman down on his bed. He kneeled at the side while holding her hand, looking at her face without blinking.
Stevan and Kathlene, with Lala in her arms, were standing behind him, crying, not knowing what to say.
Kathlene loved her son so much since he was in her belly. She was so miserable after her son was missing that she couldn’t eat or sleep. At that time, she cried so much that no more tears came out from her dark eyes.
Stevan was even more so. He was so stressed and sad that he tried every ways he could think off to find his son but to no avail. Seeing his lifeless wife, whose health deteriorating, he was heartbroken.
However, as a man, he couldn’t let this go on or his wife might really die. So after a few months their son went missing, he decided to give her a new child. That’s why Lala was born. She was born, purely to protect her mom.
The result couldn’t be better. Although Kathlene was still in sorrow over her lost son, she poured all her love into her daughter. She knew it was all thanks to her husband that she was still alive.
And now, her missing son suddenly appeared, in a very bad shape at that. If she had to see him die in front of her, she would rather not see him at all. Who knows, she might commit suicide after this.
“..she...saved….my….life…”
Lucien said with a slight smile as he thought of the wonderful time with her in Abyss and then he fainted.
Thanks god, Stevan and Kathlene found that their son wasn’t dead. They, together, washed his body, wore him a clean clothing and laid him on their bed, all while in tears. It was just like when he was still a little child.
They calmed themself as they talked to each other, wanting to bring doctor to check up on him. As for the woman, they left her on Lucien’s bed, not knowing what to do. In their mind, the woman was already deader than dead.
After a day, Lucien’s body was completely healed as he woke up, shocking the doctor and his parents. Actually, he should be awake much earlier than a day. But Epiphany, Relentless Heart really overloaded his body and soul.
Lucien quickly went to see Alicia and massaged her while calmly talking to his parents. He told them everything. Not bothering to hide fantasy stuff like some protagonists in some novels.
His story might seemed-, no, it was very unbelievable. However, seeing how his body fully healed, seeing him taking out many vials of blue liquid from a small pinkish pouch and seeing him manipulating the wind, his parents was completely speechless.
Stevan actually had an excited glint in his eyes like he wanted to say something. But when he heard all his son’s suffering, he stopped his mouth. He only wanted him to live a happy life.
In the end, Kathlene couldn’t contain her curiosity anymore and asked her son why he kept squeezing the corpse. Her son then said,
“I’m healing her. Just a hole in her heart was not enough to kill her.”
Lucien planted the herbs in the backyards, brewed potions and massaged Alicia every day. Only after her a month did she gain her consciousness.
He also gave his mom a massage, the one that’s good for skins and health, making the love from his mom shooting through the roof.
As for his dad? Meh, I don’t want to massage an old guy.
Well, Lucien still massaged him anyway to give him a good health, just with much shorter time than Alicia and Kathlene.
Of course, he didn’t use Euphoria Touch on his parents as he didn’t want to see them moan. Still, with his passive Ecstasy Divine Massage (U) lv95, his massage could be anything but normal.
At that time, it was a month away before school started, 90 days after Lucien was back. They all decided to move to Japan.
As he was already 16, his parents wanted him to go to highschool, not just ot graduate but to let him have a peaceful high school student life as well.
And so they chose Japan. What’s more suitable country to study in high school aside from Japan. Yep, Lucien also wanted an anime-protagonist school life. Moreover, Japan was a nice country which he had been in love with since young.
His dad, Stevan, ‘somehow’ get them all Japanese citizenship as they moved there smoothly!
Now, Lucien was an ‘ordinary’ high school student!
Well, how long could it last?

The Laptop Hero (Portal/Isekai LitRPG)
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] - April 2022 Silas got summoned to another world—by a group of kids attending magic school who seemed rather unhappy with the results of their ritual. After a brief glimpse of his summoners Silas woke in the town dump. Unable to speak the local language, a misunderstanding escalated and before long Silas wound up in a jail cell, the locals having confiscated all his worldly possessions aside from his laptop, which had formed some strange bond with him. Now he can summon his laptop at will, and he can view his Status, level up, and gain powerful skills and magic as if he were some character in a video game, which is great and everything, but all Silas really wants to do is sit in a dark room and play games on his laptop. Only, life isn't a game, and Silas needs to get his act together because everyone else is playing for keeps. Or does he? Maybe for Silas life is just one big game now, with everyone else stuck playing by his rules. Assorted Disclaimers, in no particular order: I am only posting this on RoyalRoad.com, so if you find my story elsewhere it was not posted by me. Please do let me know! While I do consider this a progression fantasy, and have tagged it as such, Silas's Status improvements will not necessarily proceed in a linear fashion. His RPG stats will have ups and downs, exploits and nerfs, periods of growth and stagnation. Such is the life of a gamer, to be held under the thumb of the all powerful devs, or in this case a certain goddess devoted to the idea of Balance. SIlas himself should learn and grow, improving and progressing in areas where he struggles, or rather, to show such is my goal. The story is told from multiple points of view. While other PoVs will come and go, Silas shall remain the only lead character. The world Silas finds himself on is not a nice place. Expect him to encounter gore and traumatizing content and bad people who do bad things for selfish (or possibly noble) reasons from time to time. Some characters will use profanity, however due to cultural differences the curse words used will differ from those used in our corner of reality, so I'm not including the profanity content warning. Silas himself isn't one for foul language. No explicit sexual content here. This novel is intended for mature readers, however, and will include mature topics, including, but not limited to, sex, violence, death, and taxes. No harem. Might be an eventual romantic interest, possibly even some competitive jealousy, yet as his story begins Silas is too overwhelmed with other concerns to consider long term plans. Musophobics might want to steer clear of this story. Same goes for turophobics. You have been warned. Keep in mind, however, if my other disclaimers didn't make this clear, I only have the faintest of outlines at the moment. This story will take me where it will. My goal with this story is to write it to the end, something of a long-term writing exercise, with the hope others might take an interest in my work and encourage me to keep at it. I've started a number of works before, even finished a few, but this is the first time I've shared any work in a public forum. My temporary cover was made by me, in GIMP using public domain images. If you can do better I'll happily accept your submission and give credit for your work here!

I post at least once a week. I cannot promise you a story you enjoy reading, but I can promise you a story I enjoy writing. Thank you. ------------------------------------------ The sword is greater than a simple weapon; an answer to life's questions. An extension of thine master's hand, guided by wrist. Care it not whether guilty or innocent blood shed, for be it a mere edge, a weapon. For blade that forgets or refuses to cut be shameful, meaningless, disgraceful. Nay, be it considered a tool at all? What dost the weapon do when the steel hath no guide, that the master hath mingled far? Doth it Stay? Perhaps quiver at possibility, the loss of reason for existence? Or does it go forth into the unknown, guided by merely the wind and the edge?
