《A Mere Fate of Mine》Chapter 16 Is this really me? (1)

“Ugh...”
Lucien grunted as he woke up. When he opened his eye, everything was dark but he could feel his face was lying on something soft.
Pulling himself up, he saw a woman in front of him. Recalling what happened, he quickly turned his head around to find his sword. But before he could do anything, the woman smiled lightly as she said,
“You’re awake.”
Lucien just ignored her and rushed to grab his sword. He looked at the woman coldly, pointing his sword, and said, “I don’t trust human.”
Even if this was a place the arrow led him, the torture he received from fellow human really gave him a trauma. He would rather kill a woman here first and then take this place as an asylum for himself.
“Then you can trust me now, right?” smiled the woman. Then, she showed him wings behind her back. “I’m an angel, you see?”
“A-angel?”
“Yep, moreover, I saved you so don’t point that sword at my face. Although it can’t hurt me, I don’t like it.” The woman said playfully as she puffed her cheeks.
‘S-so cute- No, what am I thinking?’ His mind was in chaos right now. Should he trust this woman? Maybe she is my last hope as the system said?
Moreover, his wounds were all gone and he didn’t feel hurt anymore. His missing eye, fingers and teeth were all healed.
‘She really helped me, even after I slashed her next once I saw her.’ Still, he was still a bit reluctant. How could he just trust anyone after what he experience in this world?
“What do you want from me?” In the end, he asked her coldly.
Listening to his cold words, the woman turned gloomy as she said, “Come here.”
“What?”
“I can’t move my legs, you see? Come, let me give you a hug.” Opening both of her arms wide, she smiled and looked into the boy’s one eye warmly.
Lucien walked closer to her unconsciously seeing her sincere face.
Upon reaching her, she pulled him into her embrace. Lucien could feel something within his heart started melting.
“Can I know your name, little child?” she whispered softly to his ears.
“L-Lucien”
“Lucien, do you feel hungry?”
“Um.”
“Lucien, do you feel cold?”
“Um, so cold.”
“Lucien, are you hurt?”
“Um, my whole body is hurt.”
“Lucien, are you in pain?”
“Um, my heart and soul are in so much pain.”
“Listen to my heart beat, Lucien.”
Lucien closed his eye. He could feel it, her warm heart. As he listen to it something inside of him was melting. It was a chain, a chain that had been sealing his heart for the past two weeks. The suffering he had been through was breaking his heart, so he sealed it, with his willpower, isolating it from sufferings.
Now this woman he met for the first time was healing it for him, healing his heart with hers. Her heart was warm and soothing that he couldn’t help but loving it.

A sign of life started to appear in his hollow eye and his tears bursted out uncontrollably.
“S-Sister, please, please save me. I just don’t want to die. *sob*” Lucien turned back into his real self. The real Lucien, a weak 14 years old boy, that had been shielding his heart since he came to this cruel world.
He poured everything, his heart and soul, to the woman in front of him, the one who saved him, someone… who gave him warmth when he needed it the most.
“There are so many bad guys here. *sob* They hurted me. *sob* They hurted me so much. I begged them but they didn’t listen. *sob* Please, beautiful sister, I want to go home. I want to see my mom and dad. Please, take me away from this place…”
He vented out everything in his heart for an hour before he fainted. The woman embraced him quietly the whole time. One could see tears streaming down from her face as well.
As Lucien could feel her heart, she could feel his as well. His heart was so pure, however covering that pureness was an endless despair. The pain he felt was enough to make her, an angel, shred tears.
Those angel’s tears were healing his body and that angel’s heart was healing his soul.
---------------------------------------------------
Lucien woke up again. This time he really woke up. He was still in the woman’s embrace and her big breasts were pressing on his face.
Lifting up his head, what greeted him was an unimaginably beautiful face. ‘She’s the real angel.’
“Sister,” Lucien said quietly with an innocent smile. “You are so beautiful.”
“Hehe, thanks.” The girl didn’t sleep at all so she didn’t wake up. To be more precise, she didn’t need to sleep.
“Sister, erm-” Lucien wanted to ask her who she was but he felt weird about it.
Knowing what he was thinking, she smiled, “You can call me Alicia, alright, Lulu?”
“Alright, Alicia.” Lucien felt really comfortable talking to her. Unknowingly, she was like a pillar supporting his heart to him. Just looking at her gave him a pure happiness.
Grrrrr~
“You must be hungry, right? Sorry I don’t have any food here as I don’t need to eat, but there are many berries outside the cave.”
“Ok” With a simple answer, Lucien walked to the lake outside of the cave. Looking onto the surface of the lake, he saw himself.
“Is this… me?” What he saw was a disfigured face. Although his whole body was already heal and he didn’t feel hurt anymore, there were still many scars on his body, showing how much inhumane he had been treated.
Tears started to gather in his eyes again but he endured it. “It’s fine. It’s just an appearance.”
Trying to console himself, Lucien gritted his teeth. One could see his hand clenching shakingly. It wasn’t easy for him to accept this reality after all. These scars also reminded him of that time of despair.

He drank some water and cleaned himself up. Picking up some berries, he walked back to the cave.
“Here Alicia, let’s eat together!” Using a big leaf as a plate, Lucien placed berries between them.
“It’s fine, Lulu. You probably don’t know but I’ve already transcended. I can live without eating.” She smiled.
“Transcendent being? What is it? I think I heard of it before.” Asked Lucien curiously.
“Um, what’s your level right now?” Alicia asked him back. She didn’t want to check his status herself, because it would be rude.
“I’m level 0. The system said I can’t level up unless my world complete a tutorial or something.”
“What? Then how did you end up here?” She was shocked. Although she roughly knew he was sent here by someone else from the ‘song’ he ‘sang’, she didn’t know exactly what happened.
To be summoned here when his world hadn’t passed tutorial, that’s mean he was summoned from outside Legas and that wasn’t normal. Normal people might not know but how could she, a high ranked angel, not know the depth of this.
‘To think even an angel is shocked, my case is really abnormal, huh?’ Lucien decided to tell her everything he knew including what he speculated.
“So from what I know…”
His story had been going on for half an hour. The berries were all gone into his stomach already.
“Um, so that how it is…” Alicia nodded. “Now everything is connected.”
“Hm?”
“Well, Lulu, I was sent here with my squad to explore the 8th floor of Abyss and to train. However, we met that Dark Hand leader while he was doing a summoning ceremony. It looked suspicious and that guy was wanted by every factions, so we intercepted him-”
“Then, you successfully spoiled that ceremony which was the one summoning me here making me and others landed on the 1st floor instead.” Lucien contemplated. “However, you also suffered losses as the only one left is you? ah! I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to-”
“It’s fine. They were all warriors and they died a glorious death.” She didn’t seem to blame him. “I was just lucky escaping here. In this Misty Mirage Mountain Ranges, they can’t find us easily.”
“Umm.” Lucien lowered his face, hesitating about something.
“What’s wrong, Lulu?” Alicia tilt head next curiously.
“A-Alicia,” He said nervously. There was a question that had been cropping up in his mind since he woke up. It was very important to him and he would be hopeless if the angel in front of him couldn’t help him with.
Gritting his teeth, he asked her nervously, “A-Alicia, is there a w-way for me to return to my p-planet?”
Alicia was stunned a bit, before turning into a thinking pose. Placing her hand on her chin, her face frowned a bit.
Lucien’s body was wet from his sweat. He was very very nervous.
After 5 minutes, Alicia opened her lips slowly as she smiled brightly, “I think there is!”
“Yeah!” Lucien jumped in joy. What he wanted the most was to go back to Earth. He gave Alicia a big hug. “Alicia, I love you!”
“Hehe,” Alicia was happy that she could help the pitiful boy in front of her. Although she didn’t care about hug as this was just a kid, there was no romantic feeling between them. She only saw him as little brother that she wanted to help.
Lucien also didn’t have any romantic feeling toward her. She was too high class for him after all and with his face, he didn’t even think about romance. He just like her warmth.
“Then, what do I do.” said Lucien excitedly.
“Hehe, tada!” Alicia raised her hand up and an orb appeared magically. “This is our way out! Not only this will help you, it will help me as well!”
“What is it?”
“It’s a Heavenly Dimension Orb, crafted by our only heavenly blacksmith in heaven. Just think of a place and pour your mana into it, it can take us anywhere! What’s special about it is that this orb can bypass any spatial barrier!”
“You’re from Heaven!?”
“That’s right! However, my mana pool is sealed by that guy so I can’t escape. I can’t even contact my superior in the friend menu because of Abyss barrier. But with your mana, Lulu, we can escape this place!”
“Woah! Big beautiful breasts Alicia, what are we waiting for!? Let’s go!”
“I think I heard something inappropriate.”
“Eh? I don’t think there was anything inappropriate, beautiful sis Alicia.” Lucien wiped out his sweat. “Whatever, quickly tell me what to do.”
“Ok, Lulu.” Alicia frowned cutely. “Here, touch this orb and think of your planet. I will direct your mana to activate it!”
“Alright.” Lucien closed both of his eyes and concentrated.
The light shone out from the orb and he could feel his mana being sucked out at a visible rate.
Zooommmm~
The mana was being concentrated in the fist sized orb so much that a noise was produced. Then,
Poof~
The gathered mana dispersed into smoke as Lucien collapsed on the ground, feeling an intense headache, but more than that, he was shocked.
“W-What happened, Alicia?”
Alicia was shocked too. A light bulb appeared on top of her head as he asked him nervously, “L-Lulu, how much is your mana pool?”
“Let me check… It’s 533.”
Pa!
Alicia facepalmed herself and said guiltily, “The orb needs at least 1500 mana to activate...”
“...”
“Ahehe~” She then knocked on her head cutely.
“#%@*&=”
‘Shit! I thought she was a reliable sister. Never did I suspect she was an air-headed. Is this the legendary ‘Big Breasts, No Brain’!?”
