《A Mere Fate of Mine》Chapter 13 What do you want from me? (1)

Two days had gone by since Lucien left the town. He slowly walked toward east, not knowing when he would stop.
It’s not that he didn’t want to rush. But the further he walked, the stronger monsters popping out.
He also had an idea of killing monster too, however, it was impossible. The different between him, a level 0 and a 2nd class, was too much. The only reason he could kill those 2nd class human was that they were human, a weak race with a soft body.
Although their skin was tougher than normal, sharp weapons were still able to cut through them.
In contrast, these monsters skin were hard like a rock, no, harder than a rock. Even with a 450 attack power sword, Lucien couldn’t cut through it with his pitiful strength.
His title effect triggered twice in two days and his skills didn’t grow much either, not even enough to finish the Luck path. He couldn’t even train his skills by running as he would be detected by the beasts.
His low level concealment was literally useless as no beasts could not sense him. The only skill that saved his life twice was Misleading. Moreover-
“Something is wrong with my body.”
Lucien mumbled to himself, looking at his trembling hand. During these days, he suddenly felt he couldn’t move a part of his body once in a while. It was like his muscle stopped working for a second.
At first, he thought he was too exhausted from what he had been through, so he ate many berries and fruits to give his body energy. He also tried to do more exercises, however it was all for naught. And he had no idea how to solve it, not even knowing the cause.
‘Just… What should I do?”, gritting his teeth.
Checking his path menu, Lucien now had 36 PP. His skill level up speed was incredibly much slower compared to the two days ago. He put all his PP into Luck path.
Congratulations! You have received a random reward, +5 all regen!
Congratulations! You have received a random reward. ‘Ecstasy Massage Divine Technique I Path 0/150’ has been unlocked for you!
“What the heck? Really, System-chan?”
Congratulations! You have received a random reward, +10 intelligence!
“This path is a real treasure trove! I should have chosen it long ago!” smiled Lucien.
Besides, his Soul Skill, Stillness of a Cold Breeze, responded everytime he used 10 PP!
A winter breeze flows across your soul, all you feel is a chilling coldness. +15 mana, +2 intelligence and +1 wisdom
An invisible chills runs through your spine, your head lifts up high in a welcome. +1 all regens and +3 Indomitable
A wind drifts by, and you ride it as you advance forward. +15 stamina, +2 agility and +2 strength

“What a cool and useful Soul Skill! Now, the importance of PP is upgraded by a level!” Lucien already felt in love with a skill of his.
Then, he finished his lunch and stood up, ready to continued his journey. Checking his surrounding with Eyes of the Truth Seeker, he spotted a human more than a hundred meters away from him.
“Sigh~ And I thought there wouldn’t be anymore pursuers after two days.” Lucien lamented. The guy he saw was walking toward him, looking around.
The reason he knew this guy was after him was because of the guy’s outfit. It was the same as one he killed.
Lucien readied his dagger and planned for an ambush. His sense locked at the guy’s fighting aura which was much more powerful than his.
---------------------------------------------------
Jamsel had been looking for the target for a day already. He was in a group of five sent by Gold Bag Alliance. As the east side of Panam forest was big, they decided to split up.
From the information he had, his target was a boy with dark hair and blue eyes. What shocked him was that Zulu, one of the best 2nd class swordsman in the Alliance, was died by this boy hand.
His team leader speculated that the boy might have a powerful bodyguard, however, the chance was slim. This boy was one of Dark Hand’s target, which was said to be summoned from outside Legas a few days ago.
The boy was also being chased by a fairly famous adventurer party led by Tony Copperblock from the reliable news source.
Which mean, there was a high chance that the boy was alone and Zulu was killed by him single handedly. Still, a level 0 noob killed a 2nd classer? Ptui! That Zulu was probably an idiot.
Jamsel had a ranger class, no sub class, and he could be said to be a pro in wilderness. Just a moment ago, he spotted a footprint suspected to be the boy’s.
‘Hehe, Boss gonna reward me heavily!’
Of course, same as the three Lucien killed before, this guy underestimated him too.
woosh~
“Die! You Scumbag!” A boy leaped out of the bush, charging at him, yelling like an idiot. A sword in the boy’s hand was swung at him with a fast speed. That sword was the same as one Zulu had.
Naturally, with his high perception and his ranger’s eagle eyes skill, Jamsel already discovered the kid lying in ambush a minute ago. He just wanted to see the kid struggle a bit, like how it was playing right now.
Right when the sword was about to hit him, he quickly blocked it with his dagger.
“Not bad, but you are still too slow, babe-” Jamsel was saying a mocking he though for a whole minute, but before he could finish the first sentence, his eyes widened at the sight in front of him.

“-What!?”
The sword went passed through his dagger, flying straight to his neck.
‘What the hell is this skill!?’, exclaimed Jamsel as he quickly lowered his head with a blurring speed, dodging the sword by a small margin.
“Haha, kid-” Right when he was about to mock the kid again, a sharp pain ran through the back of his neck.
Pchi!
His eyes widened again a second time as he saw the kid in front of him dissipated into a mist with a middle finger and a smile. That cute smile sent a chill down to his spine.
‘I’m fucked!’
---------------------------------------------------
Lucien was now 10 meters away from the man in front of him. He didn’t want to get a last hit again for the fourth time.
That illusion was, of course, Misleading skill, the skill of the year! Too OP!
‘Phew~ Nice and clean this time. I’m starting to get used to it, killing…’
His hands weren’t shaking anymore unlike his first three kills. He didn’t know if he should be happy about it.
Just when he thought everything was perfect, the man in front of him gave mumbled something. Using his last drop of energy, the guy shot a purple smoke to the sky.
After satisfied with his revenge, he died.
“Shit! He’s not alone!” exclaimed Lucien in frustration. He quickly looted a dagger from the guy and rush into the forest. “Damn it! I don’t how many people are there. Moreover, now that they will see another guy died by my hand right in front of their eyes, they won’t be careless anymore. I have to run! Run, as fast as I can.”
Not bothering to check his skills and pinging notification, Lucien cycled his Wind Reinforcement to the max as he leaped with all his might.
Bam!
He slammed on to the ground. ‘It’s that feeling again!’
After a minute of sudden leg exhaustion, Lucien struggled himself up and leaped once more. All he thought was to go faster, faster and faster.
‘Not enough, faster!’
As he ran, he could feel two fighting aura locking on him. They were pursuing him with high speed, shortening the distance.
‘I need to do something!’
Lucien shot magic arrows to every monsters he passed by and quickly sprinted away in concealment. These monsters were confused at first but as they saw two figures appearing, they charge at them without think. As to why these humans were from a different direction? Who(monster) cares?
“This kid is cunning.” One figure said coldly.
“Nah, at least we can confirm that he can’t fight us head on.” Another figure just chuckled.
As for Lucien, he ran without stopping for hours. With his higher stamina and even higher mana and skill levels, he could run in a much faster pace and much longer than before.
Only when he couldn’t feel the auras anymore did he climb up the tree to rest. He thanked the God that he didn’t experience a weird feeling of exhaustion while he was running aside from the first one.
“Phew~ That was a close call. If I stealthed one of them, the another would kill me straight away.”
Feeling relief, Lucien could now check his loot.
[Blue Metal Dagger]
Rank: Common
Attack Power: 95
Durability: 29/30
A dagger crafted by a nameless blacksmith.
“It’s a pity it’s not a rare one.” He was a bit sad. “Well, at least it was of a higher quality than my Steel Dagger.”
Then, he looked at his skills. It was amazing as he got a total of 94 PP from all his skill levels.
The moment he was about to pour his PP completing the Luck path, a hand covered his mouth out of nowhere, send an uncontrollable chill to his heart.
“Relax, huh?” Mocked the guy behind him.
Then he heard a whisper. “It is dark already and you are still young. How about sleeping early?”
thud!
Not a chop on the back of the neck like some american movies, all Lucien could feel was a punch on his cheek as he passed out.
