《The Core in a cave in a mountain》01. Just a cave?

A cave. It looks like all the other caves in the side of the small mountain. Nothing out of the ordinary, nothing special. But it 'felt' different, no it smelled different.
The little green creature crept closer towards the cave, nose in the air following the smell. It smelled tasty and the little creature was hungry. The squirrel it had for breakfast was nowhere enough to satiate its hunger. But the smell coming from the cave smelled good, fulfilling, DELICIOUS!
The creature hovered around the entrance looking if it saw the prey it wanted inside the cave, but the cave was dark. Only the small entrance was being illuminated by the already setting sun above the mountain.
The creature had limited vision in the dark like all its kin. The full potential of the racial perk that would eventually evolve into full night vision was a long way off for this newborn runt. Tightly grabbing its somewhat sharp stick it had used to kill the squirrel it set its little feet inside the cave.
~~~~*~~~~
Slowly the creature made its way forward. The inside of the cave somewhat visible with its limited darkness vision. The cave wall was rugged with sharp rock edges sticking out of the walls. Drip stone stalagmites rose from the floor with the corresponding stalactites hanging from the ceiling.
Its little eyes darting across the corridor its instinct screaming at it to watch out for dangerous things that hide in the darkness of caves. Part of its mind wanted to run away from the dark scary cave but the delicious smell made it go forward hoping to find whatever treasure the cave was hiding.
Slow but steadily it made its way forward further inside, the cave made a sudden turn to the right. As the creature peeked the corner with uneasy eyes. It took a step to round the corner.
A low rumbling sound accompanied by the shifting of pebbles and gravel made the creature hastily turn its vision to the cave entrance behind it. He didn’t see anything move behind him but it knew deadly things aren’t always visible.
It took a few more steps forward while eyeing the cave behind it.
Dangers unseen are the most dangerous ones and often noticed too late. The same applied to this creature. With his attention to the back, he never saw the danger in front, even if it did look to the front it would never see this coming.
*Clunk*
The creature's vision shifted from the back of the cave to the ceiling. It let out a low-pitched scream as its body fell into the trap door in the cave floor. Cave floors don’t have trap doors, do they?
* Shink shink shink*
The creature let out a few curdling death rattles at its body was pierced by the sharpened wooden spikes inside the pit below the trap door.
Its vision turned to black as the last of its health points were lost due to the heavy internal bleeding. Its eyes rolled back into his head and its body went completely limp.
Only a moment after it had died did its body begun to devolve into rainbow-colored flakes as the creature's essence was being absorbed by its surroundings. The dungeon had claimed another unsuspecting victim. The continual cycle of killing others to grow stronger itself.
The soft voice of System asked of Core.
"Yes System, please explain the new feature" Core asked. His voice sounded like a little human child, but that was to be expected of a newly formed core. Even if the core hadn’t heard of humans before and thus had no idea what they sounded or looked like.
"Montana, come here." He nodded his head toward the door, leaving out of the room. Staying silent as Ms. Carol looked at me, I kissed the back of Josiah's hand before leaving out of the room. As I walked out, Messiah stood there looking at me in disgust while I closed the door. "What are you doing that shit for?" "Huh?" I said since I had nothing else to say, just trying to stall time to get my words together."Why are you stripping, Monty?"Sighing, I decided that I wasn't going to lie like I'd originally planned to do after listening to Chocolate's stupid advice. "Money." I spoke simply and he scoffed as I looked down."Why not just ask Josiah for money instead doing hoe shit?" "First of all, It's not doing hoe shit. I don't have sex with anyone. I just dance. And I don't want to ask him for any money. It's not his job to take care of me.""So stripping..." He trailed off with a laugh."..stripping was the last resort? Instead of putting your pride aside?" Saying nothing, I just looked at him with pleading eyes."Please don't tell him, Messiah." I could already tell by the look on his face that he was going to tell him."I ain't gon' tell him.." Thank God. I thought. "..you are." "What?!" I shrieked. "No. I'm not.""You are." He spoke in a demanding tone."Please. You know how he is." I expressed"And you know how he is too but you made that bed." "Messiah, he's going to kill me." I begged."I know." He shook his head, walking away from me."Better figure it out. You got until the end of the day to tell him or I will." He mumbled before walking back into the room.
