Chapter 34 - There's something off about the titles.
"Shit! Shit! Shit!"
Those guys are actually closing in on my final boss! There's no time to think, I'll directly invest all my DP into the centipedes for now!
(For the epic battle scenes I have been building up for 10 chapters and almost 2 months, I shall begin with the 3rd person point of view)
The adventurers enter the large dome-shaped room. The room was about the size of two school gyms, at one end were the defending dungeon mobs, behind them a door which led to the final boss of the dungeon. Directly in front of those monsters are the adventurers.
There was a short standoff until one of the adventurers opened his mouth.
"A large open space huh? It's like they built this stage specifically for us." Rayes said as he drew two daggers from his belt.
That was the breaking point, and the thirty-odd centipedes immediately charged, followed by the vines of the lesser dryads behind them.
"Me and Sophia take the back. I'll leave you meatheads to deal with the front." Rayes said lazily.
"Well that's not too much of a challenge is it?" Jane replied, drawing her sword.
Jane suddenly charged. Her sword bursting into flames. She was the only adventurer who charged and the sight of her running towards a wave of carapace and legs was quite inspiring.
"Firewall!"
Stopping ten meters from the upcoming wave, she slashed downwards, creating a line dividing her and the incoming centipedes, the gash shortly burst into flames, creating a wall of flames. The vines halted upon meeting their natural enemy, however, the centipedes did not share such fears, and directly barged through.
Though the flames were very hot, it only had the width of a few centimeters, and the centipedes passed quite easily and without much damage.
However after passing the firewall, they found their prey missing, she had run back to her team. Enraged the centipedes continued their charge.

However, those centipedes failed to notice.
That two of the adventurers were missing.
Clint moved forward, a buckler and warhammer in hand. A golden glow surrounding his body, as Gordan cast another divine shield on him.
Victoria began rapidly shooting arrows, her hands were almost a blur as she drew, nocked and fired.
In a mere few seconds, ten centipedes were already dead. She had another arrow nocked, however, she stopped, seeing a rain of hail falling onto the centipedes, slowing those monsters greatly.
Sophia was flying towards the Lesser Dryads at the back, rooted near the end of the entrance. Those lesser dryads are getting held back by the firewall, though that would not last long. She cast a hail spell in passing, but her main objective was the lesser dryads.
As Clint met the charge of the remaining centipedes head on. Sophia was distracting the Lesser Dryads, those dryads had noticed her when she passed the firewall and were now attempting to strike her down through their vines.
However, through expert maneuvering and a few well-placed ice bolts, Sophia was able to dodge the majority of the attacks. Until she was right on top of the dryads.
At this moment a shadow leaped from the ground, cloak fluttering, blades flying, he eviscerated several dryads at once!
It was Rayes, when Jane created that firewall, Rayes jumped into Sophia's shadow while the enemies were distracted and he bided his time as Sophia delivered him to the vulnerable back line.
Though Rayes was good at throwing knives, he worked with daggers. He was an assassin in both name and occupation, though he was forced into a more supportive role as close ranged assassination failed to work on giant monsters with body armor.
In the instant where the dryads were distracted by Sophia, he had already stabbed, hacked and slashed countless times.
Then, as if waking from a daze, Rayes suddenly said.

"Oh shit, I fell into habit again."
A slashed neck or a hole in the chest. While these wounds would generally be fatal against a human opponent, against a lesser dryad, they only served as another distraction, since they lacked the essential organs humans have. It would have been better if Rayes had focused the arms where their attacking vines grew from.
Despite this, as a veteran of countless failed thievery attempts, he had begun running before the dryads had even noticed that he was there. When they did notice they instantly redirected their attention to him. However, the lesser dryads didn't have the brain capacity to realize how grave of a mistake this was.
The second that the pressure was off Sophia, she cast a spell she had been preparing for just this moment and bolts of ice magic fell from the sky, freezing the clustered dryads.
Sophia, after confirming that all the dryads were thoroughly frozen, turned her attention back to the four still fighting the centipedes, seeing that the remaining centipedes were getting decimated under Jane and Clints combined attacks, she turned her head to check on Rayes.
Only to see Rayes getting chased by a hoard of walking mushrooms.
"Pfft! AHAHAHAAHA!" Seeing the comical scene of Rayes running from the harmless somewhat cute mushrooms, Sophia couldn't help but burst into laughter.
"Shut up and help me! I can't deal with a large crowd like this!" Rayes yelled as he ran.
All that asking only got him a snicker from Sophia.
"Don't worry you'll be fine."
Rayes occasionally threw a knife behind him, only to see them be ineffective as they did not do enough damage to stop them.
Eventually, when the other four adventurers had finished their half, Rayes did get some help. Eventually. They did take a moment to laugh, or two, or three...
It had only been born a few weeks since she had been created.
She walked around her room, her garden.
The blood red color of roses contrasted against the dim lighting.
Her crown bit into her forehead, however, she did not notice.

She had knowledge of what she had to do, what she was supposed to do, but what she wished to do, was to just gaze into her flowers for a bit longer.

Interesting...

To think there was another one.
Oh well, I wanted to finish the Deadly Sins first but I suppose this works too.
Though directly handing them power is a bit boring... But it'll also be too boring if he just died, wouldn't it?
So allow me.

You may not be the origin of this ability. But you and that ant sure are taking the best parts.
You have acquired the Title:
The Unbound
Effect: As for its effects well you could probably guess.
This went a lot easier than that ant.
Though I suppose when you try to force something it becomes more difficult.
Well, things are nearing its starting point. Perhaps I should reveal myself soon. That stupid dungeon should be onto me already.

Despite the constant dings of notifications, the dryad still gazed at her garden, as if unaffected by the world around her.

Nothing to say to lil'ol me?
Oh well, at least I still have you guys right?
That is assuming that you are still reading.

My Life is Not a Manga, or maybe...
Xavier had a happy, humdrum life: normal friendships, a normal girlfriend, a somewhat oddball family. Until, that is, he literally stumbled through the fourth wall and discovered he was the protagonist of a manga. Now he's scrambling to maintain any semblance of control over his own life in the face of something he never imagined he would need to contend with: the power of the Genre. Hello, E.O. Tenkey here; thank you for your interest in "Not A Manga"! This was my first serial novel, and I hope you enjoy Xavier's predicament! Familiarity with manga not required (though it can't hurt)! I look forward to exploring the bounds of the Genre with you. (First volume is rated PG-13 for comic mayhem and light profanity—these are high school students, after all. Second volume is rated PG-13 to R for some violence and similar levels of profanity. Tags may or may not contain spoilers.)

Champions of the Boundary
In reality, there exists a realm between reality and fantasy, where all maner of magical creatures exist, and the warriors summoned as they died in reality fight against the forces of a powerful being known only as the Shadow of Life. Here, they live in a world with experience and Levels, Classes and Skills, and they fight against monsters, training for years just to achieve a Level that can allow them to make a small difference. Yet even with this training, it is not enough. The Crystal Adventurers are forced to retreat further and further every year as the Shadow of Life's monsters grow stronger and more numerous, destroying cities at an increasing rate. If the city of Maelnor falls, then it will be less than a year before nearly all of the Crystal Adventurers are wiped out, both those brought to the realm upon death, and those born and raised there. Legends tell of a prophecy that describes a team led by the legendary child of the prophecy, a child whose destiny is not to end the Shadow of Life, but to act as a harbinger, one whose very existence will turn the tides of war, one who must meet three seemingly impossible or currently unheard of criteria before the tides truly change. This is the tale of Team Noruva, which consists of a quiet, yet wise healer, a silent, but thoughtful rogue, a knight with an iron will, a wolf beastborn who gained access to the System, and their leader, who ignores the impossible and does whatever he wants, because why the hell not? This is the tale of their adventures and daily lives, their ups and downs, their struggles, successes, and losses. **REGARDING PoV'S*** There will be 5 total PoV's in this story. However, four of them will take several dozen chapters (beginning Chapter 73) to start happening, with the first two "Books" focusing just on Zack, which is why there's the Multiple PoV's tag on here, even though only one's around at first.
