《Death is Just a New Opportunity》Chat With Death

The moment I close my eyes to finally go to sleep, I'm transported into a dining room. I look around and see what seems to be a normal room. In the next second the style of the room shifts into an old formal Japanese style. The next, the wall paint turns black and in the next purple. Items appear depending on the feel of the room, here one moment and gone the next. I sigh and sit on one of the chairs surrounding a plain looking wooden table that has some of the most exquisite food I have ever seen. I’m never going to get some sleep am I? What do you need Izanami dearest? I don't bother to say out loud, she can hear my thoughts after all.
My goddess appears at the opposite end of the table. My breath gets caught in my throat at the site of her. This time, she really is in her female form, and I have to say, she’s breathtaking. Her face is perfectly symmetrical, her skin so pale but looks so smooth that it reminded me of priceless pearls. Her black hair travels all the way down her back, so long that it only ends where I can imagine many dreams of men begin. Her kimono was black silk with purple trimming the edges. The sleeves seem to begin on the side of her shoulders instead of on top of them, leaving her breasts kind of exposed. Open just enough to see the edge of her areolas and tempting me, making me wanting for more without being satisfied. Most of all, those eyes is what’s most important. Those purple eyes that seem to stare at my soul, which she may possibly be doing now that I think about it. I don’t bother to hide my stare as she giggles.
“How’d you know it was me?” Her voice is so smooth and soft I almost want to go into a never ending sleep.
“I’ve never had a dream since being revived.” I say out loud this time. I pick up a piece of the mystery food and start eating it. “By the way, are you sure you should be dressing like that darling? I’m sure you know if you go on the way you are-” I look directly in her eyes. “After I conquer the gods, I’ll add you to my list.” she giggles once more. Gods it sound like the most beautiful melody I’ve ever heard.
“Are you sure you should tell me your plans so readily? After all, I’m a God myself.” a eyebrow is raised at me in a questioning glance. I can’t help but to roll my eyes.
“Please, you guys can literally read my mind. You all know what I plan to do once I’m strong enough and I don’t intend to hide it. You’re not going to do anything about it anyway.”

“Oh? And what makes you so sure? What exactly makes you think we’ll even let you get strong enough in the first. We could wipe you off the face of the Earth any time.”
“For the exact same reason you’ve revived me my dearest. You guys are old, you guys are lazy, and most of all you are bored. In fact, I think a few of you can hardly even wait for me to come over there and kick your asses.” she smiles.
“You really are too smart for your own good. You are right though, the moment you even thought of the subject, we all knew. Us higher beings are bored though and are willing to do anything to fix the problem. Even the fact that I’m talking to you right now is more from me having more time on my hands then me knowing what to do with than actually wanting to help. If you have some questions or something go ahead and ask. I won’t guarantee that I’ll answer but I might hear you out.”
“Wow, great to see how much my Goddess loves me.” I say in a dry tone. She simply shrugs.
“Love is a powerful but fleeting emotion like the rest of them. It dies out eventually. Anyway, go on, ask questions or advice or we could simply have a pleasant conversation if you want.”
“Okay, what’s the chance you let me take you, right here, right now?” I say in complete seriousness. What? I’m a man who conquers but I’m a man first. Full blown laughter follows my question for a good 30 seconds but I just sit an wait for her response.
“Sorry little boy, but I only sleep with men who can conquer Life and Death. So right here and right now? Not likely-” she looks me up and down, “though that’s not to say that it will never happen.” A smirk appears on my face from her response.
“Well now that the most important question is out the way, what's with sending me and my people to a different world? What was that about, I do have one world I need to conquer already in progress. Though I’m honestly not complaining.”
“Well first, I didn’t send you, The System did. I just asked it to send you there.”
“What is The System in the first place? You mentioned it the first time I saw you but I didn’t get the chance to ask about it. Is it some sort of new God? Why’d you ask to send us there anyway?”
“The System isn’t really a God, more like sentient code or rules. It’s like how you humans made RPG games that levels a person up after getting a set amount of experience. The programmers don’t have to manually level every person up in a MMORPG because they built code to be programmed to do it for them. It’s like that, but on a more massive scale. Some Gods sent a little bit of there power to make it for you and any new Gamer in the future so we wouldn’t have to watch you literally every second.

“And for the reason you sent us there? I wasn’t thinking about it at the time, but it seems kind of random.”
“Well there are many Gods and there are many dimensions and universes. You know that cliche about the boy being summoned to another world? Well to do that, a link has to be willingly established between this world and the one trying to kidnap the kid. We let links form here so we can send someone through and establish a link there. From that point we begin to strengthen the link and travel through the link to take over that world.” she says so casually.
“So you guys plan on taking over that world. Why don’t you steal kids from their world and form a link that way? If they can do it, we can too right?”
“The link needs a willing host remember. Most worlds aren’t and we’re too lazy to look for the ones that are. That’s how a lot of the Gods got here, they were taken from their universe and just made a home here.”
“Really? Were you from a different universe originally too?” I ask surprised.
“Hm, I might have been…? I don’t really remember. Once you’re alive long enough, you forget pointless things like where you were created. Doesn’t really matter when I plan to never be destroyed. Next question then.”
“How do you kill a God?”
“Oh? Finally getting serious are we? Don’t worry, I’ll tell you. You basically kill Gods the same way you kill mortals, it’s just harder. While mortals have souls, Gods have essance. All you have to do is be strong enough to completely eradicate a Gods essence and they’ll be dead. You have to make sure you get all of it though, or else they will just regenerate over some melania and come back. Anything else?”
“Yea, it takes so much to level up, how do I get stronger faster?” she giggles.
“Well to start, actually use your gifts that I’ve given you. You focus so much on the random power you've been given that you forget the powers you get from me being your God. You have a whole world of zombies whose souls you can devour.” she says it like she’s talking to an idiot.
“...but...they’re zombies! Aren’t their souls already gone?!”
“Well how are they up and walking around in decomposed bodies then? While there are some who can control bodies without souls, these are not those enemies.” I’m...such an idiot! “And that’s not all. Why haven’t you used your scythe? Your battles would have been so much easier if you had just brought it out.”
“....what scythe?” I ask in confusion. She looks at me incredulously and waves her hand. Suddenly a thin black chain appears around my neck with a black scythe that has purple edges within its links. I hold the mini scythe in the palm of my hand as I just marvel at the aura coming from it. Not only that, the scythe seemed to have some sort of connection with me. It feels like I’ve found a missing part of my soul. (Chapter 4 if you guys don’t remember)
“Your patron is a God of Death, of course you have a scythe! It’s easily detachable from the chain so you can pull it off and when your done just will the chain to appear and it will. If you would have just willed it to summon yourself then it would have appeared on your neck long ago. Don’t tell me you forgot I gave it to you before you left the first time! I had my dear son Kagutsuchi work so hard on it. I call it Death’s Embrace.” It suddenly sprouted full size in my hand, shocking me out my seat. Around 5’4” in height, the frame is colored the deepest black with purple trims, with its large scythe blade forged into a crescent shape.
“It’s converting frame allows it to transform between two modes. A "rifle" mode, where it takes the form of a medium-length, bolt-action rifle. In this form, the absence of the scythe makes for more effective use of the rifle component. The other is a "scythe" mode, its most expanded form, where it fully extends into the form of a scythe, allowing it to be used as a mid-to-close-range bladed melee weapon. This form also doubles as a long-barrel sniper rifle for long-range shots without giving up the melee capabilities of the scythe. If needed, the bottom of the shaft can unfold to add more cutting power in a close-range fight.” Oh god she made a real life Crescent Rose. “It’s based of a show called RWBY.”
”...my god…”
“Yes?” she answers with a giggle. If I wasn’t absolute certain of my death, I would kiss this woman. “I think this should do for now. What are we going to talk about next time if you ask all of your questions now? Tata my little Deathling.”
