《Chain Oracle》The Fall of the Warrior

There once was a merchant who travelled the world for pearls. One day, he stumbles upon a pear so precious he sold everything for it. At last the merchant acquired the God Pearl. A relic filled with joy, sorrow and hope...
There he stands, the King on top of a mountain of human skeletons. The Terror of Conviolo, a name fitting for the bloodthirsty berserker. His cry to breach the Kingdom of Sanctus inspired the slaves of Conviolo to rise and invade. But his legendary tale was nothing but a distraction, for the Magician in all the carnage took the SoulForce.
Yelling "HOW WONDERFUL IS TODAY! BLESSED ARE THOSE WHO COME TO WITNESS THIS MIRACLE AND LIVE ON!" the Magician activated a spell people named 'The Great Restart', where a massive surge of mana fell from the sky and decimated the entire landscape of Sanctus. Half of the population was wiped out from the earth, where their remains were never recovered.
One of the fortunate souls who survived the onslaught was the Warrior. The lone survivor of his Brotherhood, he watched in horror as the surges of magic eviscerated his friends, one by one, leaving him behind. The memories flashed in his eyes: the days of arduous training to survive with his brethren, the afternoons of inner conflicts and fights due to misunderstandings, the nights of jovial mealtimes where they ate and drank with merry. Now they are all gone. Only he remembers their memories and their existence.
Burning with anger, he went on a rampage, cutting down the Conviolo brigade who survived, and found the man who started the horror show. The King. The giant looked on at the man painted in blood of his colleagues and laughed.
King said to Warrior "SO! YOU HAVE COME TO CHALLENGE ME, PEASANT! WHAT A TRAGEDY, YOU FAILED TO COMPREHEND THE TRUE AIM OF OUR MISSION AND LET YOUR PUNY PISSANTS TO DIE, WITH NOTHING TO SHOW FOR IT! WHAT SAY YOU?"

Warrior replied, heavily breathing, "Bend the knee, King. It's over. I will strike your head clean off your shoulders if you resist..."
The King laughed and mocked the Warrior. "YOU? YOU OF LITTLE MEAT! HARDLY! YOU, A PUNY DOG CHASING TAIL FOR VIOLENCE! HOW CAN A SIMPLE-MINDED FOOL BEST ME, THE STRONGEST OF THE LAND! COME! EVERYBODY YOU KNOW AND LOVE ARE DEAD. LET ME HELP YOU JOIN THEM!"
"SHUT UP! SCREW YOU!" " The Warrior screamed, lunging forward to strike him with the cross-guard of the sword, his staple method of eliminating threats.
"HOW WOEFUL, YOUR PATHETIC EXISTENCE END HERE!" As the Warrior dashed forward, the King sprinted down the mountain of bones and thrusted the sword three times into the Warrior's breast. As the Warrior dropped his knees onto the ground, the King picked him up and threw him off the Cliff of Fates.
The Warrior heard the King lament. "A waste of young talent pissed away..." before his mind went blank. After a few moments, the mind went back to a memory. The last memory which appeared in his mind was a conversation with a woman who he loved. He was in a citadel, dressing up for the upcoming breach of the Conviolos. When a lady grasped his hands with hers. The smell of roses engulfed his entire being.
She said to him. "Don't lose yourself, please!"
He then replied. "It's my mission. If if costs me my life, so be it."
The Warrior felt the woman squeeze his hands firmly, "There's more to life then achievement!"
"How certain is your conviction?" he countered back, throwing her hands away and leaving for the future horror.
Thus, Warrior woke up from the fragmented memory. "Wish I remembered..." Warrior muttered to himself, as he fell into the darkness.
