《High-Class Mob》10. The reason of the original’s death (part 3)

The couple returned to the Edgeworth Manor. Colt was burnt out from all of Mina’s nagging. But he still listened to them and kept them at heart just to make sure that if she asks what she said on this particular day, he’d be able to answer.
They had lunch with their family and were bombarded with questions. Colt didn’t listen to any of them because he was too preoccupied with a bunch of thoughts.
It was mostly regarding the name Filla. He couldn’t simply get it out of his head, but everything floated away once he began eating.
‘Worries would come for later after I finish eating.’ He thought while devouring the perfectly cooked steak of God knows what animal.
This world had a lot of different species considered edible. Thankfully, Colt had yet to read something about humanoid monsters prepared as food, so he was eating without a care for consequences.
He finished eating, and together with Mina, the two enjoyed a pleasant afternoon on the back garden where Colt slept under the shade of a tree. The soft, nurtured grass gently embraced his body. Mina’s hums put him to sleep as he enjoyed the pleasantness of her thighs.
‘This is bliss.’
He was not a person of this world, but he was enjoying this life for his and the original’s sake. And Mina was the one who offered, so why not.
‘She’s more caring than I thought.’
Colt was aware of the dos and don’ts. He wouldn’t cross a certain boundary, and he wouldn’t hesitate to cross one if need be.
‘A man only refuses advances if he’s two-timing and cheating. If your woman is a yandere, all light is a green light, other than the forbidden thought, of course.’
Colt was experienced in many ways. He was a man who had delved deep into the internet and the embrace of a real woman.

But when 1:30 pm struck, Colt abruptly opened his eyes; he got up from Mina’s laps and stretched his body.
“Dear, where are you going? Were you unsatisfied with anything?” Mina became flustered.
“No, not by any means. I simply have swordsmanship training that I must attend. I will be heading to training ground E. You can join me if you wish.”
“You go first, dear, I’ll be heading to get you some refreshments.” Mina considerately offered.
“Thank you, Mina.”
Colt turned away and then left for training grounds E. All the while, Mina stood there watching his back before leaving for somewhere else. She did not go to the kitchen but up the second floor. She went to Colt’s room and closed the door.
‘Refreshments for my Dear will come for later. I am sorry that your wife is too impatient.’
Click! The door was locked shut...
Colt walked slowly to the training grounds E. And by the time he arrived, there were still ten minutes before 2:00 pm. But standing in the middle of training ground E was butler Neun holding a wooden training sword.
Swoosh!
He swung the training sword and caused a fierce gust of wind. From a single sword stroke, Neun then proceeded to do a series of sword slashes, which culminated in one lethal combination.
Neun’s sword was like water, fluid but strong. Its sense of self was reflected in every movement. As the waves of his sword gradually showed its might, Colt witnessed tall waves appear from out of nowhere, and as they were about to crash onto Neun, he pierced forward.
Boom!
The waves dissipated as Neun’s sword pierced through. But to Colt’s realization, there was no water; there was no wave; only a sword movement that was as fierce as the crashing waves.

What he saw was an illusion, and Colt found that sight genuinely amazing and - “Beautiful.”
Neun woke up from his daze, and he turned to Colt, who had became slacked jawed as he watched.
“Young Master, there you are.”
Colt walked fast and stopped a few centimeters away from Neun. With his eyes shining, Colt was in reverence of Neun’s sword skills.
“That was amazing, Butler Neun, what was that? I didn’t know you were so good with the sword!”
“Haha, Young Master, it is but a fluke, these old bones of mine can no longer move as it used to. I just got lucky that I managed to show a competent display. Hahaha.”
“No, no, no, that was amazing, those fluid movements connecting sword path, and that grace you carried as you made the waves dissipate, it was amazing.”
Neun watched Colt revering his sword art and smiled widely. Only after Colt finished fanboying did Neun finally spoke.
“Young Master, I am just here to inform you that the Captain of the Guards would not be able to join you. He was sent to a mission by the Count, so it is sad, but your training must be postponed.”
“That is sad, but I am in an urgent need to train, um, when do you think he’ll be able to return?”
“Sadly, it would take one or two months before he can return.”
“How about the Vice Guard Captain?”
“The Vice-Captain went back home for vacation.”
“Is that so...”
Colt was distressed, he didn’t think everyone would be out, and as he lowered his head, he completely missed Neun’s smile.
“Young master, how about I teach you the way of the sword instead?”
“Really? By all means, yes. I would appreciate learning from you, Butler Neun.”
“However, although my training is really effective, it is also hard, it may strain the Young Master’s body, so I better warn you about it.”
“Don’t worry, I won’t run away, I’ll do my best to master it.”
“That’s good, young master.”
While this was happening, Count Shickly and Marquis Liron watched Colt from afar with broad smiles.
“Hahaha, it seems like your daughter’s influence on my son is truly magnificent. I have never seen him have so much fervor for training before.”
“No, no Brother Shickly, it is your son who is a good influence on my daughter. I have never seen Mina so happy after her mother’s death. She had been too devastated and detached from everyone else. I am happy to see them happy. It seems like getting them engaged with each other is mutually beneficial.”
“Yes, that is correct! Come now, Brother Liron, let us drink to this wonderful occasion.”
Thus, the Count and Marquis found another reason to drink.

Fragments from the Wildlands
“Your first death is always the hardest.” Miguela was the third-born child of a well-off merchant family and knew from around the time she could speak that her life’s path was already decided. She was to become an Orator, as was Xandran tradition. However, Miguela had an affinity with the magikal arts and somehow found herself studying at the Academy. She did just enough to keep up with her studies but never found the motivation to apply herself and “reach her potential,” as her instructors often said. It was not that Miguela was uninterested in the arts. Rather, she knew her time at the Academy ultimately did not matter. Whenever Miguela returned home, she would become an Orator, and that would be that. Or so she believed until, one day, an opportunity appeared that would change her life. Miguela was offered the chance to join a research team tasked with a mission of the utmost importance to the future of the Five Kingdoms. She could not turn down the prospect of regaining control of her life and finally finding a purpose for herself. Of course, Miguela might soon discover that offers that appear too good to be true are usually fraught with lies. Welcome to Five Kingdoms of Cordizal! Question: What is the Five Kingdoms of Cordizal? I often get asked this type of question about my stories by friends, bloggers, and potential readers. The Five Kingdoms of Cordizal is a high-fantasy epic universe that is the setting for most of my stories. The foundation of the universe is its multicultural, multiracial setting with several sentient races attempting to carve their legacy and survive. The world is fully fleshed out and vibrant with a rich and mysterious history not based on Tolkien mythology. This brings me to magic. To me, magic is an essential part of the fantasy genre, so, of course, there is magic in the Five Kingdoms universe. However, one critical part of the Five Kingdoms universe is that magic is an abundant commodity that is a part of everyday life and not some plot device used to drive the story. In short, the Five Kingdoms universe is the setting of epic fantasy stories with deep characters and world-building. I try to tell as many different types of stories as possible in the universe, and hopefully, you can find something for you in it.
