《Isekai Gundam (Reboot)》Episode 54: Ancient Aliens Aren't Always Nice (Part 2)

The seven space-based vessels of the Angelus Holy Union hung in low geostationary orbit above Gaia, preparing to unleash the cleansing fire of their sacred weapons upon the barbarous hordes of alien filth below. Not a single one of them had visual sensors beyond those of the crew themselves and therefore did not notice the battlefleet amassing just a few hundred miles behind them. They only realized something was horribly wrong after the particle beam cannons, missiles and torpedoes of over a hundred Commonwealth warships opened up on them, sending the crew of their ships into a mix of confusion and disbelief.
Blasts of energy traced massive lines across the void as torpedoes tipped with nukes sped across the black sea of stars towards the AHU’s meagre numbers. A barrage of over a thousand missiles tipped with explosives that worked just as well in space as in atmosphere spread out and followed their wire-guidance to their target. These three forms of long-range death broke upon to seven corvettes of the AHU and quickly (albeit temporarily) overwhelmed the shielding of the alien spacecraft.
The myriad ships of the Arcadian Commonwealth started to close the distance between them and the alien warships, with the ‘Real Mode’ Mobile Suit Golems and the Mobile Armor Golems speeding ahead to unleash hell on the invaders. Ships that were from the Zeon and Federation factions unloaded their fury on the alien menace while ships that were from neither faction added even more force to the equation.
The ships that made up Arkhan’s armadas were a mix of actual ships from Mobile Suit Gundam’s Universal Century and new designs that had been made in a joint effort between the Commonwealth and the Dwarven Kingdom. The vast majority were the generic ones brought into reality via Arkhan’s summoning, but the bigger, meaner and more dangerous ones were custom designs. In this particular battlefleet, roughly 85% of the ships were summoned and the rest were new designs.
The first thing the Commonwealth’s armada set about to target was not the engines, the shield generators or even their weapons. Instead, the Commonwealth military focused its fire on the communication equipment of their foe. One of the greatest advantages someone can have over their enemy is information, and if the Angelus Holy Union did not know what happened to their ships or what they would be facing then it made the job of Arkhan’s forces that much easier.

They already had to deal with a technological disadvantage, so their enemy gaining knowledge about their capabilities would only further stack the deck against them. This war that was going to happen would be like a card-shark trying to win against the House when the House was a vicious, murderous, manipulative criminal. Said card-shark would need every conceivable advantage to even begin to come out on top.
…
As the initial confusion and anxiety brought about by the sudden and unprovoked attack by the savage barbarian natives wore off, the sacred naval officers of the Angelus Holy Union began to make their ships take evasive action. The vast majority of the enemy vessels did not seem to have even basic shielding and therefore would be easy prey to the superior weapons of the righteous few.
Their corvettes were faster than even the smallest and most nimble of the heretical barbarian warships, but what they lacked in speed, firepower and shielding they made up for in numbers. It was a mystery how the heretical xenos had managed to sneak up on them like this and it was a mystery as to why they could not easily transmit communications between ships, but they would have all the time in creation to discover the answer once the enemy was space dust.
A humanoid with blue, stone-like skin, hair and wings that looked to be made of solid gold and eyes that shone with white light looked out beyond the transparisteel that made up the bridge’s viewport. Truly, the infidels had managed to hoodwink him and his kind, and such a thing could not be allowed to stand.
“When are our reinforcements going to arrive?”
The humanoid who was the captain asked his crew in a calm tone, seemingly utterly unconcerned with the copious firepower heading their way.
“We have been unable to reach anyone or anything. The xenos fiends seems to have deployed some kind of jamming device. It is likely that this jamming device is the reason we were unable to detect their approach until they were already upon us.”
The captain huffed and spat a retort at the comms officer.

“I did not ask for excuses! Get us in contact with the other ships and with the naval command and do it an hour ago!”
The wall of alien vessels slowly drew closer, even as the sacred space ships of the Angelus Holy Union dodged and weaved amongst the fire directed at them. What concerned the captain of the AHUSS ‘Amazing Grace’ was not the number of vessels against him, but the fact that they seemed to not be going at full speed. The initial assault by the barbarians showed that their smaller vessels could travel at roughly 1/3 the speed of his corvette, but now they were chugging along through the void at roughly 1/12 the speed of his ship.
“Why are they going so slow? Is it because they cannot make sustained bursts of speed, or is it something more nefarious?”
The captains and crews of all seven ships got their answer as a salvo of explosive projectiles slammed into the ‘top’ of their ships, followed by a mass of artillery shells and then an onslaught of directed energy blasts. Two of the seven ships, the AHUSS ‘Hallelujah Choir’ and the AHUSS ‘Messianic Gospel’ were torn to shreds almost immediately as they had already taken significant damage to their hull and had already lost their shields. Another three were heavily damaged and were near dead in the void, which allowed the xenos armada to finish them off.
The last two vessels, the AHUSS ‘Amazing Grace’ and the AHUSS ‘Penitent Gaze’ were sent reeling from the attack. The damage to the ships was enough to knock the crew to the floor and send some falling off their chairs, their ears ringing as alarms blared and the onboard systems temporarily locked up. As the warriors of the Angelus Holy Union got back up, another warning made them seethe with even more righteous fury.
{WARNING! BOARDING PARTY DETECTED! ALL AVAILABLE HANDS, PURGE THE INTRUDERS!}
The interior cameras and bulkheads were temporarily out of action, so there was no way of knowing where the heathens were or how far they had gotten or even where the breach was, but none of that mattered to the captain. The intercom had already alerted not only him, but also the security teams onboard the ship of what had happened, so all that was needed was to purge the inferior and heretical barbarians from the ship. The captain still had utter faith that they would get through this as the victors because even if the xenos armada managed to destroy them they would have to deal with a world wiped clean of all life and ready for terraforming.
No matter how they fought they would still lose. It was not as through the force on the surface was running into any problems. If they were running into issues, they would have contacted them. And these boarding parties; it was not like they were anything to worry about. They were mere savages, so what could they possibly do? If all else failed he only needed to make a break for it and exit the range of their jamming devices, then a quick message back to the naval command would sort everything out.
It never occurred to the captain or any of the crew that the jammed comms had prevented the Angelus Holy Union’s ships from learned of the utter defeat of the forces they had deployed. I t also never occurred to the captain or the crew that they were not dealing with mere flesh and blood, but steel and lunar titanium. It is said that ignorance is bliss, and in this case the ignorance was not only blissful but also very detrimental to their survival.
From holes all long the corvettes, Mobile Suit Golems poured in and prepared to take the prizes for The Creator.

Am I The Only One Who Is Not Forced to Migrate Across Worlds....?
A random isekai adventure might not be random. Underlying conspiracies, not-so-kind world and most importantly two-faced characters. Only time can reveal the flaws of the so-called Migrators! *** I am rewriting the novel. All this time, I have honing my skills as a writer. As my first novel, this novel served as a self-reflection of how much I improved later on. This doesn't have the most unique of plots but as a first novel, I still have some aspirations and memories.
