《Gaia's little Gamer》Scorpions

With renewed vigor, and the hope of gaining a kingdom, Pef launched a flurry of attacks, druid staff in one hand and the Arc Staff spell in the other.
Due to the Arc Staff not being an item, this didn't require dual wielding, which Pef considered a successful exploit.

A stream of notifications flew on his screen, but somewhat lower to the side. It was all he could do for a cleaner experience. Because Gaia wouldn't turn them off, saying they were a feature of the game.
Raiju fought by his side, getting a bit more proficient with his own spells. Sadly, the pet's leveling had slowed down a thousand times, possibly due to the ascension thing.
When the horde of rabbits was eventually exterminated, Pef got a few more rewards.
*For fighting 7777 enemies and receiving 0 HP damage you gain the perk Graceful. Adds +1 Agility.
*For wearing heavy plate armor for a long time, you gain +1 Constitution.
*Farmer's Strength has reached maximum level 20. Adds +40 Strength. You're still not using it correctly.
Pef glared at the last note. Was he expected to plant fields and grow plants?
*Winter is coming.
The Mama Winter rabbit appeared and Pef engaged it in melee this time.

-200
Pef nodded at the reduced damage from the boss. Since his HP and regeneration was so high now, he would remain in melee.
-9000
-9000
His own staff strikes, aided by buffs and perks were dealing sufficient damage to the boss.
In less than an hour the boss fell, and his own HP has barely decreased at all.

*Your Aura Body has reached level 15. Blocks 150 damage and 15 percent of incoming damage.
*You have killed an immortal. Gain 100 HP.
*For killing an immortal in melee you gain the perk Brave: Adds +1 Str Adds +1 Cha. Adds +10 percent damage to any boss.
*You have found 7 Major HP potions. You have found an Elixir. You have found the Winter Storm manual.
Pef opened the inventory to check the new spell.
*You have tried learning Winter Storm. You are too feeble. You need minimum 500 Magic, 100 Constitution.
"Oh? This is a really potent spell then." he mused out loud.
"Costs 5000 MP to cast, and takes a toll on the caster during the channelling period." the goddess explained with a soft tone.
"Anyways, I guess grinding this boss was really inspired then!" Pef said celebrating his wisdom.
*For farming an immortal boss multiple times, til it dropped the rare loot, The Gamer receives +1 Mind. Gaia approves.
"Mistress is too good. Should punish Pef more..." Raiju interfered for no reason.
The goddess laughed in a melodious voice and patted the pet on its head with a hand made of wind.
"Your pet is learning from his master. Be careful what you teach him." Gaia whispered in an amused voice.
Pef grinned and laughed as well. The game was too fun sometimes.
"Alright, let's see the Floor number 8." he said while flying towards the open portal.
"New food, Wooooooo!" the lightning wolf yelled in joy, as it raced for the portal.
They arrived at the base of a sand hill, surrounded on all sides by yellow and orange rocks, and plains of burning sand.
A few green scorpions peeked from under the sand, and began to approach slowly.
As they got close, they began spitting globes of green acid, and clouds of poison.
"Well hello, my old friends. I already have these spells...and I can guess where Lucia learned them..."
*This poison is too weak to damage you.
*The acid is not potent enough to damage you.

Pef advanced into melee and began his routine massacre.
Some time later, the scorpion attack ended.
*You have killed 1000 Green Scorpions. Exp 3 millions. You gain the perk Staffer. Adds +10 percent damage to your staff damage.
"Huh, and as all my damage is provided through a staff... I gain +10 percent damage!" our hero realized with a smile.
*You have found 35 scorpion claws. You have found 3 scorpion tails. You have found a scorpion eye.
The hill beside them shook and revealed to be yet another huge boss.
*You are flying and have avoided an Acid Lake.
"Strong armor." Raiju remarked as he tried to bite through the chitin plates.
Pef slashed with his staff to check.

"Yeah. It seems to have damage resistance. Back to spellpower then." Pef admitted with a sigh.
He flew up and began bombarding the boss with magic arrows.
-25
-25
Pef groaned. "Add magic resistance too."
"Strong armor." Raiju concluded wisely.
He tried all his spells, one at a time, but nothing did sufficient damage.
So he entered Floating Meditation to try to invent something new.
After a few hours, he came up with a few prototype spells.
*You have created a Mana Torpedo.
*You have created a Piercing Mana Torpedo.
*You have created a Drilling Mana Torpedo.
*You have created a Homing Mana Torpedo.
*You have created Drill Lighting Torpedo, has 1000x Magic power and 300 percent Penetration. It also tries to home in to its target. Cost 3000 MP.
*For creating a nearly godly spell, a Gungnir prototype, you gain +1 Magic. Gaia approves.
"Yes! Now I have a powerful spell of my own." Pef exclaimed as he began firing his torpedoes at the huge Sand Rock Scorpius.
-500000
"Well, the damage is not bad, considering the huge defense this guy has..." Pef mused out loud. Then again with all the perks had had pilled on top of the spell, from Lightning Affinity, the 70 percent from the staff, the rings, the necklace, the boss, dungeon and staff modifiers, plus 300 percent penetration, the prototype should have done over 1 million damage.
"Master is strong too!" Raiju exclaimed after shooting his own Volt spells without much effect, just the daze effect...however...
"He doesn't regenerate under daze. Time your spells to keep him dazed, while my mana recovers." he ordered the wolf.
"You got it master. You're so clever!" the pet replied cheerfully.
Ten torpedoes later, the boss fell and died. With 550 percent mana recovery due to various bonuses it didn't take too long for recharge.
*You have killed the Sand Rock Scorpius. Gained 6 million Exp.
*You have found 5 Greater Mana Potions.
"I think we're going back to Floor 7,my dear Raiju. This level is not worth our time." Pef said with a sigh, and proceeded to fly back to the 7th Floor.
The snow fields were rather familiar now, as were the throngs of murderous rabbits.
*You have killed 7777 Snow Rabbits.
*You have killed the Mama Winter. Gained 17 million Exp.
*You have killed an immortal. Gain 100 HP.
*You have found 7 Major HP potions. You have found an Elixir.
*You have reached level 81. Gained +3 Magic stats and +2 free attributes.
Pef took a glance at his character page, and adjusted the new free points.
*Pef the Gamer
Level 81 Magician
Level 9 Alchemist Novice.
HP 44900, MP 3190
Free attributes:0
Strength: 31+3
Agility: 28+20
Constitution: 29+20
Magic: 289+30
Mind: 85+20
Charisma: 26
Karma:29
It wasn't bad, but still had more work to be done. The other stats mattered little right now, but Mind was really hard to raise.
He needed 8 levels to reach his promised target of 100 Mind. Hopefully, there would be a trait or skill to aid him in the future. Plus there were spells that required 100 Mind just to learn.
"What do you say Raiju? One more level today?"
"Woof. Rabbits are easy now. We grow!" the pet replied smartly.
Pef decided to follow the advice. Grinding for levels. Pretty much a Gamer's job.
