《Young Adversary》341st Adversary: A Million Hells!

The Primordial Era, also known as the Primal Era, was the era when the universe was in its infant stage. An age where all the races of the universe lived in harmony. Even after the universe was split into two by its ruler, this didn’t change.
“……..”
A young boy, who belonged to one of the primal races, slowly opened his eyes. A rainbow/colored sky opened up above him. Exotic creatures flew among the golden clouds. He was laying in a meadow of glistening plants. Animals were close by eating these plants, unbothered by his presence. He silently sat up and stretched with a low grunt. He smacked his lips as he got to his feet.
“&%#$!”
The boy turned his head after hearing someone call his name. There, a girl was waving at him.
“Mama said it’s time for lunch!”
“I’m coming!”
The boy followed the girl. When they arrived home he was greeted by a smoky yet appetizing aroma. Once inside he saw a chubby woman with a set of meals in front of her, while a child played at her feet.
“Good, you’re here. Once your father returns we’ll eat.”
She stooped down and picked up the child causing it to giggle. The girl went to play with the baby’s cheeks while her mother held it. The mother looked at the boy.
“Remember, you’ll start hunting with your father from tomorrow onwards.”
She walked up to him and placed his hand on his cheek.
“Don’t worry. You’ll do fine.”
The boy nodded.
“Thanks, mother.”
“I wonder what’s taking your father so long?”
“This is bad!”
A man suddenly burst into the house.
“What’s wrong, honey?”
It was the boy’s father.
“The sky!”
They left the house with the father and looked up at the sky. There they saw a huge hole.
“W-What’s that?”
The boy saw a light fly out of the hole. The light hit the earth with a boom. Waves of flames scorched the meadow. The father stood in front of his family and blocked the flames.
“Father!”
“I’m fine, Son! Stand behind me!”
The flames lasted for nearly a minute before stopping. When it faded the boy looked beyond his father.
“Hm? What’s this?”
There he saw an entity made entirely out of flames. The fact that it could speak frightened the boy.
“Who are you?”
His father called out to the entity. It glanced at him and ignored him. It surveyed its surroundings.
“This world is different from my own....”
The entity showed a smile.
“I’ll take it.”
This was the birth of the first-ever Higher Being. Soon similar entities appeared all over the world. Finding themselves in a new world, the first thing these entities did was conquer everything around them and claim them as their own.
“Run, run! Never stop running!”
Some time passed. The boy was fleeing with his family leaving their home behind. His father protected them from the rare as the rest of them ran.
“Ahhh!”
“Father!”
The boy stopped to see his father between the jaws of an unknown beast.
“Don’t stop! Run!”
He screamed as fangs bigger than his arm dug into his body. His bloodshot eyes fell on his son.
“Protect our family! Go!”
The boy stepped back and turned around and ran.
“Don’t stop!”
His father’s words soon turned into screams. The boy’s tears flew in the air as he ran to catch up with his mother and sisters.
“……..”

His feet slowed down. Soon he came to a complete stop. His body trembled, his eyes quivered.
“Mama?”
Reflected in his eyes was the torn-up body of his mother leaning against a tree.
“My son…”
“Mama!”
He ran to his mother.
“Mama! Mama!”
“Calm down and listen. Find your sisters, I told them to hide while I held those monsters back. Find them and protect them.”
“What about you, Mama?!”
His mother smiled.
“I’ll catch up. I’ll stay here and wait on your father. Someone will need to show him the way.”
“But…”
His mother was missing several body parts. Her blood was staining the earth. She grabbed his face with her bloody hands and made him look her in the eye.
“Go! Your sisters need you!”
Tears swelled up in his eyes. He pounced on his mother and hugged her. Before she could hug him back he took off. She smiled as she watched his back disappear.
“Why?! Why?! Why?!”
He ran as fast as he could while scanning the area.
“Why did this happen?!”
“Because you people are weak.”
He stopped after hearing the voice. He saw the flame entity standing before him.
“You’re wondering why this happened? It’s because your people are weak. It didn’t take much to control everything. It must be because this world was still in its Golden Age. A World that has only known peace can only kneel before us Higher Beings.”
He threw something at the boy’s feet. It was the heads of his sisters.
“……..”
“Weakness is too filthy for a world as beautiful as this. That’s why we’ll purge it without discrimination.”
The light had left the boy’s eyes. He had stopped breathing. His five senses became dull.
(What did we do to these people to deserve this? They just popped up out of nowhere, killed us, and talk nonsense afterward…Unforgivable.)
“Hm?”
The flame entity saw a blur.
*Boom!*
A hole appeared in its body.
“What?!”
“Unforgivable.”
A dark aura seeped from the boy’s body. He stepped forward and the color was drained from the world.
“What’s this? Don’t tell me that there’s some latent power in this race! If that’s true then our conquest—”
His body exploded and scattered over the area. The boy walked with unsteady steps.
“I’ll kill them! I’ll kill them all!”
Explosions could be heard all around. Similar words echoed in the wind as his family's faces flashed in his mind. He turned towards the sky, glaring at the holes in it and the beings entering this world. He gritted his teeth and clenched his fists and shouted.
“DEATH TO ALL HIGHER BEINGS!”
Something appeared from a flash behind him.
“No.”
His vision split as a new voice reached his ears.
“Death to you and your people.”
Everything turned red. His body split down the middle and hit the ground. As his vision faded to black he could see a smirk on his murder’s face.
“It’s time for a new era.”
The boy’s life met a miserable end.
“Hah?!”
Miko opened his eyes with his breath rigid.
“What? Where am I?”
He was floating inside an endless void of darkness.
“What was I….That’s right. I just defeated Tang. What happened after…Ugh!”
He was assaulted by a head-splitting migraine. He held his head and curled into a ball. Memories from the boy started flowing his head. Memories were followed by his emotions; such as love, fear, jealously, HATE.
“Those bastards…”

Miko gritted his fangs with bloodshot eyes.
“How dare they…”
His heart was overflowing with hatred.
“Higher Beings…I’ll kill them! I’ll kill—”
The Primal Era was approaching its end. The once peaceful world was now engulfed in the flames of war. The invaders, who called themselves Higher Beings, clashed with the original inhabitants of this world for more than a century. The radiant world from before was quickly becoming a thing of the past. In this world, there was a hut on a remote hillside. Living there was a couple and their young daughter.
“Hahahaha!”
The daughter laughed as she rode her father’s shoulder. Her mother smiled as she was watched them. She turned her head and her eyes widened.
“Honey, they’re here!”
The father put his daughter on the ground.
“How many?”
“I don’t know but it looks like it’s close to a hundred.”
A sword appeared in the man’s hand.
“We can’t outrun that many. Take our daughter and run. I’ll hold them off.”
The mother picked up her daughter and looked at her husband.
“Come back alive.”
She placed a kiss on his lips. He smiled.
“Of course. I can’t leave behind the two most beautiful girls in the world.”
A portal opened up in front of her. She walked into it and disappeared. On the horizon, a mob of people was flying towards him. He clenched his sword.
“I promised to never kill a member of the Primal Races again after I married my wife. I didn’t want to kill her people, but if you bastards come for her and my daughter then you leave me no choice.”
The hill exploded as he flew towards the mob.
“I’ll be like the other Higher Beings that you hate so much and make your blood rain on this land!”
Elsewhere, the mother arrived several hundred miles away from her husband.
“Hold on, baby.”
She poured power into her legs and blasted off the ground.
“?!”
She felt a sharp pain and looked down. Her eyes widened at the sight of bloody stumps where her legs were supposed to be. Dozens of figures appeared around her. She held her daughter tight and drew in the air. Golden runes rotated around her. A bright light swept away her enemies. She took to the skies.
“You always had a habit of losing track of your surroundings once you’re cornered.”
A light flashed. Her arm holding her daughter fell off.
“Mommy!”
Her daughter plummeted towards the earth.
“Baby!”
She stretched her only hand out and dove to reach the child. Something flew past her. It was a sword.
“No!”
The sword penetrated the child’s skull and stabbed in the earth. She floated next to the child. The mother’s eyes reddened as she watched as her child’s head slowly slid down the sword and hit the ground.
“Finally, after years of trying I’ve rid the world of that abomination.”
She lifted her head and saw a man looking down at her.
“Father…”
“Oh? You still call me that? After you’ve disgraced my name and your ancestors by bearing the demon spawn of a Higher Being?”
“…You killed my daughter. You killed your granddaughter….”
Her father shook his head.
“I killed the child of a vile beast.”
She blinked. A sharp pain followed. She was staring into her father’s eyes. She looked down and saw a blade piercing her abdomen.
“I’ll make sure no more abominations will follow by destroying your filthy womb.”
He kicked her off his blade. Blood flowed down her legs. Her father wiped the blade with a cloth.
“You thought that you could get away from me by going to the ends of the earth? You thought you could live a happy life after turning your back on all the Primal Races?”
He shook his head.
“My foolish daughter. You had to be punished.”
He burnt the bloody cloth.
“The same fate will fall on that demon you call a husband. After we found your location, we leaked it to his people. Some of the most powerful Higher Beings are heading there to punish him for defiling my daug—”
The man’s vision turned red.
“Ahhhh?!”
He screamed out in agony as the woman dug her fingers into his eye sockets. He kicked and stabbed her but she wouldn’t let go.
“How dare you kill them?! You monster!”
Blue flames poured into the man’s eye sockets. Other men rushed at the woman cut and stabbed her. Even as she was being cut apart she refused to let go.
“The Primal Races are good and the Higher Beings are evil? In my eyes, you’re both evil for destroying the little happiness I had in life!”
Her guts spilled from her stomach and her flesh was cut from her bones.
“I hope both races burn in hell! And then you’ll feel a small percentage of the pain you’ve put me through!”
Her father's skull burst to pieces. His headless body hit the ground. The men surrounded the women with their swords stained with her blood and flesh. She smiled at them.
“I’ll see you in hell when the Higher Beings slaughter you all.”
The men moved in unison. She looked at her daughter one last time. Her vision was swallowed by eternal darkness.
“Haaaaa?!”
Miko screamed at the top of his lungs as his eyes flew open. Tears flowed from his eyes as more memories and emotions flowed into him.
“Higher Beings or the Primal Races? Neither was better! They both took everything away from me! I want them dead! I want them dea—”
The Primal Era had come to end following the Primal Races demise. What came about was another era of peace, only this time among the Higher Beings, who now conquered the world. While it wasn’t as beautiful as the previous era it was still a beautiful sight to behold. The Golden Age was over, it was now the Era of Higher Beings, the Silver Age!
In this era existed a certain country. This country was ruled by a godkin Higher Being. This ruler was known throughout the land as a just king. His people loved and worshiped him. He too adored them. This king stood on a balcony overlooking his kingdom. He nodded.
“There’s no doubt. I have the most beautiful kingdom in the world.”
“Your Majesty!”
Hearing a shout he looked down. There were people gathered below waving at him.
“My king!”
“Your Highness!”
“Sire!”
He smiled and waved back.
“My king.”
A voice came from behind him. He turned around. A woman wearing a white dress and jewelry matching her beauty was there. It was his Queen.
“I put the baby to sleep.”
“You did it yourself? Why didn’t you leave it to the human servants?”
“I don’t trust them. I don’t know why you invited humans into this country.”
“Humans are people too. They have families, dreams, and the desire to live. Knowing that, how can I chase away starving humans with no place to go?”
“There are special zones that were built to keep their kind. They should live there.”
“They’re not animals. Of course, they would desire more than living on a farm.”
The king walked up to the queen and held her shoulders.
“What’s wrong? It’s not like you to say these things about mortals.”
“…You always see the good in people so naturally you wouldn’t notice when you’re hated.”
“Hated?”
“Yes. Those humans, I see hatred in their eyes when they look at us. How could I trust them with our son?”
“It must be your imagination. Why would humans—”
(Don’t trust them.)
“……..”
“My King?”
“Ah, yes. I was saying that we saved them from starvation. Why would they hate us?”
(Don’t trust anyone.)
“I don’t know, but they just seem fishy.”
“……..”
The king stood frozen in place for a bit before shaking his head.
“It’s your imagination. .”
A few days later.
“W-What…What is going on?”
The king watched as an army marched into his capital. They slaughtered the fleeing residents as they approached his palace.
“Who is attacking?! Why weren’t we alerted until they made this far?!”
“It’s the humans.”
He turned around and saw his Queen leaning on a wall. She was bleeding heavily. He ran up to her.
“Stay back!”
He halted when she shouted.
“They used a relic belonging to the Primal Race. I’ll die if you come into several meter radius of me.”
“Who told you that?”
“That would be me.”
A human male appeared out of nowhere. He had multiple bracelets, anklets, and chains on him, all engraved with glowing runes on them.
“How do you do, Your Majesty?”
“…Who are you?”
“You don’t know? You employed me to work here yourself after I came knocking at your doorsteps.”
“And yet, you harmed my wife?”
(You should’ve killed them.)
“I don’t want to come off as ungrateful, but it had to be done.”
He lifted his arm. Several holes opened up in the king’s body.
“?!”
The king stared at his jewelry.
“Do you like it? I found a tomb when I was a slave for a higher being. I used them to kill my owners but I ended up accidentally destroying the country too. So I came here looking for a new one, to rule of course.”
He spread his arm.
“I’m going to be the first human king in this world!”
“B-But why me? I’ve always been kind to you people.”
(You should’ve slaughtered them.)
“Yes, you’re a kind person. That’s precisely why you make an easy target. You’ve been a lot of help too. By leaving the humans unsupervised I was able to rally them to my side. I gave them weapons similar to my own and created an army.”
He pointed at the army in the distance.
“We’re going to create our own country on the ashes of this one.”
“My king.”
The king looked at his queen. She smiled at him.
“I loved your kindness and naivety.”
She pounced at the man. Her body was cut in pieces before it touched him.
“A higher being doing a suicide charge against a human? How the times have changed.”
The man laughed. His laughter was cut short by the site of the Queen’s flesh illuminating. An enormous explosion devoured the castle and half the capital.
“………”
The king laid on the ground surrounded by flames. Before him was an abyssal crater. Behind him, the sound of the human army became louder. He silently sat up.
“Dammit!”
The human flew out of the crater with burns over his body.
“I thought that I died before becoming king.”
A light flashed. The man’s head fell from his body. His head landed in the king’s hand. The man’s eyes widened in horror before his head was crushed.
“……..”
The king turned towards the marching army. His country was burning, his people were being slaughtered, he lost his beloved family. All at the hands of the same people he showed pity.
“Yet, I lost everything to human greed.”
(Let’s just end it. Destroy them. Destroy everything. Even yourself!)
A maddening smile appeared on his face. He flew above the capital. The army stopped and looked at him. He spread his arms as his body lit up. A catastrophic explosion erupted and destroyed the king and everything in his kingdom.
“Hahahahaha!”
Miko laughed hysterically as more memories and emotions flowed into him. Tears of blood flowed from his eyes.
“Die! Die! Burn in hell, you filthy humans!”
His skin peeled off his body revealing burgundy skin underneath. His hair grew and became neon-colored. His eyes melted and new, darker eyes replaced them. Six pairs of black wings sprouted from his back. Miko had taken his Satan Form while laughing. A black skeleton appeared before him. The skeleton was engulfed in crimson flames. The skeleton placed its hand on his cheek. The skeleton brought its skull to Miko’s laughing yet crying face. Their foreheads touched.
“O enemy of the world, why do you cry? Why do you laugh? Why have you gone mad?”
A coarse voice came from the burning skeleton.
“There are many more that you need to see. Many more lives that you must live. Countless more hells that you must experience.”
The skeleton floated away from Miko. It showed a terrifying smile with its black teeth.
“Please don’t break just yet.”
Many years passed after the Silver Age. It was now the Age of Blood, the War for Supremacy had begun!

8 62Emperor NPC
The Demon Emperor had taken one billion lives and conquered the realms of elves, dwarfs, and giants. When the final realm of man fell to his armies, the stage was set for their world’s finale. A spire of brilliant light pierced the sky, and as the land was torn asunder, the demon emperor met his death. It was not by the hands of a hero, or goddess’ champion, but by a system developer—a creator of the VRMMO Ark World—masquerading as a god! “It’s ironic that it would be you,” said a voice in the black void of the quantum system. “Strange, that you’ve given me this quest, and stranger that I can’t do it without you.” By the power of the thirteenth system developer, the “goddess” Amarytha, the demon emperor was reborn in a new video game where his character never came to be. In the Ark World Sandbox, humans rule as gods over nations of NPCs. Through mastery of their administration commands, they hold absolute control. Only the demon emperor, liberated by the Player System, can challenge them. A crusade begins with one step. Freedom from humanity begins here! ---------------- I'm going to be upfront here. This is not an anti-hero story. So, if you've come for anti-hero you might not enjoy it. The cover art I commissioned from my friend @cyborgraptor. You can find her on twitter, or tumblr. Absolutely awesome person, and way too humble. She's also a great dps on WoW, and her and I always fought for top of the meters. I update every day, or nearly every day. I'll be updating this quickly as I bring it to parity with my other sites. Afterwards, expect 6 or 7 chapters a week. This is my only job and I approach it professionally.
