《Young Adversary》300th Adversary: Return To The Capital

“Luka and Hina left the empire?”
Miko was in his office with Sora and Ace. Natasa was standing by his side.
“Yeah. They packed their things and left. By the time we reached home yesterday, Hina’s stuff was gone and there was a note saying that she and Luka were going to have a training arc.”
Sora chuckled a bit.
“Looks like your words yesterday strangely motived them.”
“….I’m surprised that you’re so calm. Aren’t you concern about Hina’s safety?”
“Hina is strong both physically and mentally. I don’t need to worry about her anymore.”
“I see.”
“Are you worried, Miko?”
Ace spoke in a teasing tone. Miko smirked.
“Not even a little. They’ll be fine.”
He leaned in his seat.
“I take it that you staying means that you’re not against my actions.”
“I don’t agree with them but I can tell that you’re giving it your all to protect everyone, in your own twisted way. So, I’ll stick around and see your story to the end.”
Miko looked at Sora for a bit before laughing to himself.
“And you, Ace?”
“I just didn’t care to be honest. I’m not compassionate enough to care about the lives of strangers. In every game, NPCs will lose their lives whenever there’s an event to clear. To me, this is no different.”
“I see….I guess it’s about time.”
A few minutes later, Miko was in the lobby of the Hall of Rebirth with everyone else.
“Layla, I’m going to the capital for a bit. I don’t know how many days it will take, but there’s a lot of stuff I need to do there, so it might be a while.”
“Don’t worry, just leave everything to me.”
Miko turned to Natasa.
“You stay and assist Layla. The two of you are going to be working with each other in the future so this is the perfect chance to get familiar with each other. Also, you should try and familiarize yourself with everyone else in Renacido. No one is gonna recognize an unknown king. Show them how awesome you are and win them over.”
“Sounds like a piece of cake. By the time you return, I’ll be the new king.”
“Ahem. You mean Don, I’m the next king.”
Natasa glared at Natasa.
“You want to go?”
“I don’t mind teaching a brat a lesson or two.”
“What was that?”
Miko looked at Oden and Edward.
“You two make sure they don’t destroy anything while I’m gone.”
“Roger.”
He nodded.
“Then, see ya.”
He left with his siblings, Ace and Sora, Momo, who he was carrying on his back.

“I said that I can walk on my own.”
Miko shook his head.
“You’re exhausted from your rehabilitation. I’ll carry you to the car.”
“I said I can walk.”
“Give it up, Momo. When he’s like that there’s no arguing with him.”
Kristen was walking with his arms behind his head.
“We once got sick and he refused to let us take a step on our own until we got better.”
Momo gritted her teeth with a flushed face.
“This is demeaning!”
A little over an hour later, Miko and the others arrived in the capital after taking a plane. They were inside a limousine driving through the streets.
“Did you inform the clan that we were coming?”
Momo was free from his grasp and was relaxing in her seat.
“I did.”
“Really? I thought that we were gonna just pop up and shock them.”
Ace was drinking from a bottle of champagne he found.
“Nah, I want them to know I’m coming. That way I can handle some business that must be dealt with.”
Miko took up a glass of champagne and lifted it to his lips, but stopped just before drinking it. He slowly put down the glass.
“Well, that was fast.”
He pressed a button beside him.
(Yes, Don.)
The driver’s voice echoed in the back.
“Stop for a bit.”
The limousine pulled over.
“Brother, are you going to be okay?”
Tessa had a worried look on her face.
“I’ll be fine. It’s just a greeting.”
Miko opened the door and stepped out.
“Do you want us to help out?”
Sora’s voice reached his ears.
“Nah.”
He showed off his gloves with a green crow and an azure dragon on them.
“I have these two.”
“I see. Be careful.”
He nodded. Momo’s head peeked out of the car.
“Don’t overdo it.”
“No promises.”
She sighed and closed the door. The limo drove off leaving Miko alone in the street. There was an obvious lack of people around.
(They cleared the place out. They mean business.)
He smiled and scanned the area with his eyes.
“?!”
He leaped back. A golden light hit where he was and caused an explosion.
“We’re getting started already, huh?”
Miko’s feet skid on the asphalt as his gloves glowed. He threw a punch. A foot appeared out of nowhere and clashed with his fist. With a thunderclap, shockwaves spread throughout the area. The asphalt burst open and all the windows shattered. Miko stumbled back with a grin on his face.
“I knew that you’d be the first to come to meet me, Ashur.”

The person who attacked him flew back a little and landed softly on the ground. He had long wild azure and gold hair, fierce gold eyes, sharp fangs, and was dressed in a worn-out military uniform. The teen named Ashur wore a huge grin on their face.
“It’s been a while, Miko! I’m here to kick your ass!”
“Straight to point as always, huh?”
Miko laughed.
“Well, that’s what I like about you.”
He kicked off the ground. Ashur followed him and cut the distance between them. The two swung their legs like whips. An explosive sound was followed by shockwaves. The two were forced back. They rushed towards each other again with flying kicks. Shockwaves erupted between them. They somersaulted off each other’s foot and landed on the ground. Miko released his wings and used them to propel himself towards Ashur. He punched him before he could react. Ashur was blown back with Miko chasing after him. Miko threw another punch, Ashur twisted his body out of the way and caught Miko’s arm. He threw him overhead. Miko stabilized himself in the air and spun around only to see that Ashur had disappeared.
“?!”
He looked up and a fist was inches away from his face. He twisted his body but the fist didn’t pass by him as he expected. Ashur used his other hand and grabbed his collar and slammed his knee in Miko’s face, despite being upside down. Miko’s head flew back with a grin.
“You….”
Miko slammed his leg in Ashur’s side.
“Damn wild beast!”
Ashur was forced to the side with a thunderclap. Miko landed on his feet and rubbed his face.
“That fucker…If I hadn’t obtained a stronger body in Newgate my face would’ve been smashed in.”
Despite his words, a huge grin was on his face.
“Hahahaha!”
Ashur approached him grinning ear to ear.
“I’m glad to see that you haven’t been slacking off in the years we haven’t seen each other, Miko!”
“Well, I was slacking for a few years. If it weren’t for that, I would’ve stomped your ass already.”
Ashur’s right eye twitched. He showed off his sharp fangs.
“Oh, is the punching bag being cheeky?”
Miko cracked his knuckles.
“Let’s see which one of us is the punching bag!”
The two kicked off the ground ready to start another round. With clenched fists, they threw powerful punches.
“Cut it out, you idiots.”
Someone appeared between them with two sheathed swords in their hands. They lifted them and blocked the two’s fists. With an explosive sound, a huge crater opened up underneath the three of them. Cuts appeared on Miko and Ashur’s fists as they drew them back. The person who stopped their fight fastened their sheathed swords on their waist and back. Braided azure hair, honey-skin, ocean eyes, and dressed in black and gold with a sheathed sword on his waist, Rin Dragna looked at the two of them with obvious contempt.
“You fools do realize that you’re in a public space, right? Don’t go around destroying buildings that were recently fixed.”
Miko looked at his hand.
“You didn’t have to cut us.”
“You’re lucky you still have your hands.”
“Damn, despite being family there’s no love between us, huh?”
Rin ignored him and looked at Ashur.
“I thought we all agreed that if we’re gonna fight him we’ll do a raffle first.”
His eyes sharpened.
“Do you want me to mince you?”
“Here’s the thing. I was gonna do what we agreed but I thought that if I acted on my own it would piss you off and I’ll get to fight the both of you.”
“………”
“To be fair, that was probably the most thinking he’s done in years.”
Miko spoke up behind him. Rin’s eye twitched and he quickly pulled his swords.
“Alright, I’m killing you both.”
“You’d defeat the whole purpose of coming out to stop them.”
Another person appeared and walked towards them. They had the Dragna trademark azure hair but red eyes and was dressed in a burgundy vest suit with gloves on their hands. It was Alec’s younger brother, Renatus.”
“You guys really only know how to cause trouble huh?”
Miko, Rin, and Ashur looked at him from head to toe, nodded to each other, and spoke in unison.
“Let’s kick his ass.”
“Why?! I didn’t even do anything!”
“Your voice is annoying.”
“You have a punchable face.”
“I just wanna beat somebody up, to be honest.”
“Now that’s just unfair!”
Renatus looked behind him.
“Hey, Krul! Please come talk some sense into these idiots before I kicked their ass!”
Suddenly, Miko’s chest tightened and a huge grin appeared on his face. He watched as someone walked out of an alley and approached the group. Short red hair with hints of azure, a well-toned body, and dressed in casual clothes. Every step he took made the others tensed up. He stopped in front of them with a relaxed smile and a calm demeanor. Miko’s azure eyes locked with his golden ones.
“Yo, Miko. It’s been a while.”
Miko’s grin grew even larger.
“It sure has been, Krul.”

Dauntless: Origins
Snow white hair, blue eyes, pale. Devil, monster, mutt, failure. This story follows one Tyr Faeron, crown prince, heir primus and mass murderer. A wrathful, angry, and lost young man that has made it his goal to hunt down the men that killed his mother - and he is on the cusp of finishing the promise he'd made before her cairn stones so many years ago. On the surface he is duplicitous, whimsical, and base of cunning - but within the depths beyond the many masks he wears, something is waiting. Waiting for an end, the end he'd come to long for, whether it be to himself or any possible threats in his vicinity. After that long labor of vengeance is completed... Nobody knows, not even him - an arrogant and otherwise solitary individual with nothing in the way of friends - only the brothers of the blackguard who follow him through life as he pursues this mission. He was born a prince, but he'd be called a disappointment - failing to manifest the great power that he was born to before being summarily discarded by his father, a 250 year old 'primus'. That word again... Men who can shatter mountains and level cities, that's what he was supposed to be. Some call them demi-gods, all Tyr sees is a poor excuse for a parent. Time had made him bitter, cruel, and arguably psychotic - seeing only enemies wherever he looks. They'd come for him, too, one day - to wipe the slate clean and make room for another - and it's his conviction to ensure that he dies while taking as many of those rats with him. This is a story about finding acceptance, growth, and understanding - from the point of view of a cold and brutal individual who wears many masks. Of someone who was born to be the greatest emperor the eastern continent has ever seen - but he failed in that. Strong, yes, but only in the context of a man - Tyr's magic is weak. His convictions are weak. He has been made a beast of instinct by loss and a constant confronting of his own impotency in the face of his father. A mythos that stretches across planes, of magic, a pantheon of cruel gods. Of someone who's dedicated his entire mind to the art of killing a man, and none to living a normal childhood or coming to understand friendship, empathy, or compassion. The first five years of his life a mystery, a hole none have ever been willing to fill, leaving him warped and twisted. His formative years gone and what must've been most of his humanity along with it. Now 17, he is on the cusp of leaving the city he'd never been permitted to leave for what might be the first time in his life. Always searching, though he won't know what for, for some time. An episodic that follows experience and symbolism rather than a never ending series of battles - where the conflict lay in constantly searching for wholeness in lieu of great villains or heroes. This is where it all started, the origin, the tale told a million times - and yet it hadn't been, 'reality' is tricky like that. The greatest lie ever told by the tongue that speaks is that any of this was real at all.

The Valion Chronicles - The Emergence
An action-adventure story about the struggles of a group of refugees from the war torn world of Valin fleeing the vindictive fury of a scientist turned military madman bent on intergalactic domination. The crew of the Safe Haven finds their way to Earth to discover that not only are there humans there but a variety of other alien species cohabitating on Earth which had become a central trading hub in the time they'd been in contact with a collective known as the Transgalactic Federation of Planets. The story is meant to be my take as a westerner on the concept of a Japanese Shonen Anime written with inspirations from the likes of Power Rangers and Kamen Rider but also meant to be my own spin on the conventions and tropes of the genre with a bit more of a large-scale world and a very open ended universe with lots of room to develop things outside the world of the main cast.
