《Young Adversary》268th Adversary: The Crisis Begins 3!

In the skies above the Dragna Empire, someone was clashing with a gigantic black dragon. This person was Krow. He flew through the air repelling the dragon with punches and kicks. The dragon fired flames and lightning from its mouth. Krow evaded the blast and conjured a chain in his hand. He wrapped the chain around the dragon and dragged it towards him. He slammed his fist in it and blew it back before pulling back towards him again. He kicked it under the chin and sent towards the heavens.
The dragon roared and the sky became overcast. Thunder rolled and hundreds of dragon heads emerged from behind the clouds. The dragons opened their mouths and rained lightning blasts down on Krow. The blasts fell on the city and caused mass destruction on the capital. Krow lifted his hand overhead and a golden shield blocked the blasts.
“It’s as fun to fight you as I hoped, Raven.”
He snapped his fingers and a golden gate opened up underneath him. Countless golden weapons flew into the sky and destroyed the dragon heads. He clasped his hands surrounded by golden light.
“Conqueror Arts: Imperial Radiance!”
The golden light spread and the clouds were forcefully cleared.
“Conqueror Arts? When did you learn Augustus’ fighting arts? No one in the clan knows it except Joesph and I doubt he taught you.”
The black dragon, Raven, glared at Krow.
“Who taught you?”
“You’re in no position to question me. If you wish to know, beat me first.”
He smirked.
“That’s if you can.”
In the Primus Domain, Sasha was facing her brother-in-law, Marc who had come to kill Leon.
“You bastard!”
She swung her scythe at his neck. He ducked under the swing and circled behind her. He released his claws and thrust at her back. She twisted her body while swinging her scythe. He distanced himself with a jump.
(Two cuts on the walls from her scythe...I heard that this place was built to withstand any attack below the Divine Realm…For her to damage it means that she’s quickly approaching the Divine Realm.)
He smiled.
“You’re really something, Lil sis. You’re not even 100 and you’re already this strong. Those under 100 are considered children in the 3 clans and yet you have 3 children of your own. It’s too bad that they aren’t here. I would’ve love to play with them.”
Sasha popped up at his side and swung her scythe.
(She took the bait!)
Marc blocked the scythe with his hand and dragged her towards him. He poked her forehead with his finger.
“?!”
Sasha’s vision became blurry and her ears started ringing. She lost her balance and fell on her knees.

“My apologies but I’m not that much of a fighter, unlike your husband.”
He tapped his head.
“I’m a thinker. Using my fists and weapons are only a last resort.”
He stooped down in front of her.
“You’re currently under a confusion spell. Your brain can’t think up commands so your body won’t work as it should.”
He stood up and walked past her.
“Now if you excuse me, I’m gonna have a chat with my brother.”
He hummed while he approached the room.
“?!”
He leaped back to avoid an attack. He looked down and saw a large cut on his torso. Cold invaded his body causing his muscles and joints to freeze up. Even so, a smile crept upon his face.
“Amazing. Your will is impeccable.”
Sasha was standing in front of him breathing heavily. Her blouse was stained in blood originating from around her stomach.
“To think that you would stab yourself in the stomach to free yourself from the spell. I’m starting to envy Leon for having such a strong wife.”
“Y-You can be envious in hell!”
She rushed at him. Marc retreated as fast as he could but he wasn’t able to escape her. Darkness gathered around her scythe. She swung it down and a dark slash cut through his body. Blood sprayed out of his body. The blood in the air blacken.
(She used death magic to curse me after cutting me.)
He placed his hand over his wound. The blood leaking out of him moved and formed a sigil. The sigil ignited and the wound closed shut.
“Alchemy?!”
“Correct.”
He snapped his fingers and his blood on the ground and in the air turned into iron spikes. The spikes flew at Sasha. She twirled her scythe and cut the iron into pieces. Marc stomped on the ground and alchemic sigils appeared all over the hall.
“Thanks to this hospital being sturdy it makes a great raw material for weapon forging.”
The walls, ground, and ceiling morphed into spears, swords, and arrows. They flew at Sasha from every angle.
“Hel Knight!”
Sasha’s skin became fair like snow, her hair became white with black endings, and her pupils became white while her cornea was as dark as the night. She was wearing a white medieval-style armored suit with black dragon carvings on it. She moved her scythe so fast it left afterimages. The next instant, every weapon surrounding her was encased in ice. They shattered and created the illusion of snowfall in the hall.
“How pretty.”
“?!”
Marc slipped into her personal space before she could react. He placed his hand on her and an alchemic sigil appeared on her armor.

“I see that your strong will makes you immune to hallucinations and hypnosis which is why I’ll use this.”
Her armor morphed into a giant human-shaped coffin filled with spikes.
“Iron Maiden.”
The coffin closed with Sasha in it.
“Ahhhhh!”
Her screams rang in the hall and blood leaked onto the floor.
“You made that armor with your magic so I’m sure it’s pretty sturdy. If it’s sturdy enough to protect you from enemies then it can be used to make weapons strong enough to hurt you.”
“Ahhhhh!”
Sasha’s screams became louder. Too loud for Marc’s comfort. He saw a black light coming out of the Iron maiden.
“Fuck.”
The maiden exploded and shook the hospital. A bloody Sasha flew out of the smoke and grabbed Marc by the neck. She slammed him into the wall so hard it cracked.
“Guah?!”
He tapped the wall and it morphed into dozens of spears and stabbed into Sasha's body.
“That should…?!”
Sasha lifted him off the wall and threw him into the ceiling.
(She’s unfazed?!)
She leaped into the air and punched him in the stomach. He vomited blood on her face but the force behind her punch didn’t diminish. Cracks ran through the ceiling.
“T-This woman…!”
He grabbed her arm and glared at her. Her eyes were rolled to the back of her head and she was grinding her teeth.
“She threw away her reason and is going to berserk!”
Crimson seals started to appear on Sasha’s arm.
“Demon Art: Crimson Lotus!”
Sasha’s arm exploded into a bloody mist in the shape of a lotus. Marc kneed her in the face while falling from the ceiling.
“?!”
He was punched in the face and sent flying through the hall. His body bounced off of the ground and cracked it.
“Cough! Cough!”
He looked up and saw Sasha quickly approaching.
“The mother is a monster, the father is a monster, the son is a monster, so, naturally, the daughter would be a monster too, huh?”
He sprung to his feet and tore the tie from around his neck.
“I just can’t deny my demon blood, huh?”
He started grinning.
“This shit is getting my blood pumping!”
Sasha pounced at him and he readied himself.
*Bam!*
A room door burst open and a fist slammed in the side of Sasha’s head. She smashed into the wall and cracked it open. Marc frowned and relaxed his body.
“That was unnecessary, Ranga.”
Ranga stepped out of the room frowning too.
“What is unnecessary is the damage you’re taking from this fight. Did you forget that we need to be able to escape later?”
“Before you preach to me you take a good look at yourself.”
“What do you—”
Ranga looked at his arm. It was bent in an unnatural shape.
“Wow.”
“Right? That’s my sister-in-law.”
“Don’t sound so proud.”
Emerald light wrapped around his arm and returned it to normal.
“It pisses me off.”
Sasha unnaturally rose to her feet and looked at Ranga. Her body flickered. Ranga clenched his fist and took a step forward. He punched her in the face with an explosive sound. She was blown into the wall so hard that cracks spread through the entire hall. Her body slumped down the wall and fell on the ground. A puddle of blood quickly formed underneath her.
“Damn, man. You sure don’t know how to hold back. What if you had killed her?”
Marc quickly approached Sasha and looked down on her.
“I said that anger makes people blind but I’m not stupid enough to kill Nero’s daughter. The world can’t handle that man’s anger…. Shit, you really fucked up her face too.”
“She has Augustus’s blood. She’ll be fine. More importantly, we need to-”
“Run!”
“Huh?”
Ranga turned around and a fist was inches away from his face. The fist slammed into the center of his face and time halted for him. He could clearly see a demonic face glaring at him with deep hatred. He recognized this face.
(Leon?!)
Time resumed.
*BOOOM!*
A thunderclap erupted in the hall. Marc only saw half of the hospital get blown away with Ranga. Only rubble was in front of him.
(This place is meant to withstand anything under the Divine Realm. For him to destroy half of the hospital with a punch means….)
He looked at the demon who was surrounded by crimson flames with his fiery hair blowing in the wind.
“He became a true god…No, a Demon Lord.”
Leon looked at his wife on the ground and then at his brother.
“Care to explain yourself, Marc?”
Marc smiled.
“Unfortunately, I don’t want to.”
“Why?”
“Because you’ll kill me.”
“Don’t worry.”
Leon started approaching him.
“I’m gonna kill you either way.”
“I see. That would be troubling.”
He smirked.
“Wouldn’t it, Ranga?”
Leon sensed a presence behind him and slowly turned around. A bloody face Ranga was looking him in the face with a standoffish attitude. He sized up Leon with a smirk.
“Yeah, it would be troublesome.”

Moonblood
Five moons rise over Evanir, each in her own cycle, and each moon is also a god, one of five sisters. Many gods create spirit attendants and companions, brought forth fully-formed. Long ago, the moons worked together to create a lineage that are, instead, humans transformed by the mingling of blood. They intended them to be long-lived and to draw their strength directly from the light of the moon who chose each individual. The five sisters had different goals in mind – one wanted it to be a blessing for scholars and artists, to give them more time and fewer physical distractions; another wanted them to have an animal form, different for each, to keep them more in tune with nature so they could serve as guardians of the wilderness. There are drawbacks to their children having human lives and personalities before being chosen: not all share the goals of their divine mothers, and some choose to put their gifts to darker uses. Those carrying the blood of one woman, fleeing the corruption in search of a quiet life, take a different path. -=-=-=-=- Moonblood isn't so much a novel as a series of adventures of varying length. They involve a core group of people, which does grow over time. They take place in a fairly low-magic world, but despite that, our core cast are directly connected to the moons and have various abilities, including limited shapeshifting to a single individual animal form. As with all my work, unless gender, orientation, or other aspects of sexuality are explicitly stated, I suggest not making assumptions. Probably most significant, I think, is a major trans character who appears about 80K words in - no spoilers, just a note for those who care about that one way or the other.
