Sup everyone, you already know me so introductions are unnecessary. So let’s get down to business. The Newgate Arc has just finished and it was longest arc in the story so far with over 90 chapters taking up over a third of the story! I think this arc changed the story the most with its new characters, world building, and new information. With its end, there’s only 3 arcs left in this book and then it’s off to book 2 of Miko’s adventures!

When I looked back on what happened in this arc I feel overwhelmed. As a set-up arc for future events I think it gave away a lot of information but it brought up more questions than answers so I guess it served its purpose. The main theme of this arc is change and evolution. I don’t think any character remained the same through out it, even the new ones. This arc also gave some insight into New Era while making them even more mysterious at the same time. I mean just what are they really? And then there’s their complicated relationship with Miko. Some of my favorite characters are in New Era so I cant wait to dive right in.

We also saw the introduction of Bloom & Jin in this arc. To be honest, I originally wasn’t going to include this arc or them. Kaido was supposed to be a direct subordinate of New Era but it felt like a waste leaving them out. By the way, Jin and Sapphire made an appearance in chapter 100 long before the arc. It was subtle but they even mentioned Bloom. Speaking of, I had a problem regarding her character. I couldn’t make up my mind whether to have her join Miko now or not. After some thinking I thought it would go against everything Miko fought for if ran to him. I also didn’t want her to become dependent on him. I hate when all there is to a female character is her relationship with the MC so I made a promise that all of my heroines would have a life outside of Miko. Bloom is the first but she isn’t the last. I also had problems with Shòuxing and Hana regarding which direction should their stories go but I figured it out.

I would also like to talk about the Four Pillars Gear, Bastian, Isabel, and Natasa. Gear and Isabel are returning characters from Mythical Conquest but Natasa and Bastian are new. I changed everything about Gear and Isabel’s characters and made them more interesting. Bastian died, Isabel returned to New Era, while Gear and Natasa are under Miko’s control. Jun Mizune, the guy Shòuxing mentioned and the one who freed him in his flashback, was one of the original Pillars from the old story. In this one he’s a beast. Oh, some people might feel disappointed about Natasa, I mean she never won a fight the whole arc, but that’s the point. She’s the type who gets stronger after every defeat. Later, she’ll become a true force to bereckon with.

Finally, there’s Miko. What can I say, the man was unstoppable this arc. He had setbacks but he came out the overall winner. He showed the most growth in this arc and he was easily the most entertaining. We also saw that his mental state is pretty fragile. In other words, he’s fucking crazy man! And there’s a lot of times you can’t understand what he’s talking about or why he’s the way he is. If you experienced what he experienced you would be crazy too. In fact, I don’t think there’s a sane Irregular in this story because all of them have to go through the same hell. Speaking of Irregulars, the True Hero of the story made a debut in this arc and he’s a part of New Era as one of the leaders. He’s also one of the three protagonists of this story. All three have been introduced already but the last one is hidden in the background. They also debuted in this arc in a sense but I won’t say anymore.

Oh! The five leaders of New Era have been outlined in this arc. I’ll give you a list of their names and branch they control if already stated.

Alexis Dragna- ?????

Alexis being a leader shook the Dragna clan to its core. The effect of his and Krow’s departure will be shown in the next arc which from its name centers around the crisis the Dragna clan is going to face and how they’re going to combat it. I’ll also introduced a lot more members of the three clans who were absent. I can’t wait for you to see what they bring to the story whether it trouble, entertainment, mayhem. There will be a lot of politics and everyone knows that politics can get violent. If people like Miko, Nero, and Nova are involve it’s bound to get bloody.

Anyway, I’m gonna take a small break about a week or so to plan out the next arc. That bitch named Corona finally started to hit me financially and I won’t be working next week so I should get enough time before I go back to work. I’ll keep you updated if anything changes.
