《Young Adversary》193rd Adversary: Encounters

Let’s go back to earlier when Miko and his group separated from Jin and Kaido’s group. After leaving the red light district, Miko and the girls went back to their hotel. Upon reaching his room Miko ordered an unbelievable amount of alcohol which he drank like someone dying of thirst. It was when he was on his last bottle that someone knocked on his door.
“Room Service.”
“Did they bring more liquor?”
Momo asked as she opened the door. When she did she saw a woman who was one of the workers at the hotel. She was holding a bottle of wine.
“This is on house. It’s a powerful drink that’ll surely satisfy your thirst.”
“Let me see.”
Miko stood up and took the bottle from the woman.
“Hmm….So what kind of poison did you put in it?”
The moment Miko said that the woman widen her eyes in shock. She was grabbed by Momo and pulled into the room. Momo flung her onto a chair which Miko sat in front of while staring at the bottle. He looked at it with interest for a bit before opening it and taking a whiff.
“It doesn’t have any scent. I wonder how it taste?”
“Don’t you dare drink it.”
Momo said.
“Why? I was offered a drink so it customary to drink, it is it not?”
“Umm….I don’t know why you think it is, but it isn’t poisoned.”
Said the woman.
“I see.”
Miko immediately drank the wine to which Momo responded by placing her hand on his back.
“It doesn’t seem like any poison entered your body…”
“Well, he did say that it’s not poison.”
“And what if it was?”
“Then I have you to save my life.”
Momo sighed and then looked at the woman.
“You said he, so that means she’s a man in disguised?”
“Yeah. It’s the same thing as what Bloom used when we first met her. Also it’s not our first meeting. I saw him at that club where I beat up some guy, and I met him at the White Deers’ HQ a few days ago.”
The woman’s eyes widened. After a few seconds she started laughing.
“Hahaha! As expected of you Miko.”
A male voice could be heard coming from her. Her appearance then became distorted before starting to change completely. Miko didn’t seem the slightest surprised as he spoke calmly.
“So what can I do for you, er…”
The “woman” changed into a man and even the clothes he was wearing changed.
“My name is Edward… But you can call me Code Breaker.”
This person calling himself Edward was wearing a brown vest suit and glasses that were tinted. His sleeves were rolled up and he had a wedding ring-like ring that was made of black stone and beautiful red gems on his right hand. His face was plain and his physique was small. He looked like the type of person that would go unnoticed in a room full of people. He didn't look remarkable in any way. Even so, this ordinary person had a special aura around that made Miko and the others unable to ignore him.
“Code Breaker huh? It wasn’t on the list of names Lucio gave me. Well, I guess that’s the limit of his information gathering skills.”

Miko looked at Edward who had a small smile on his face.
“You seem to be in a good mood considering your situation.”
“Well, I’m happy to see that you live up to my expectations.”
“Expectations? Ah, you did know that I’m Miko despite being in this form. That’s a bit weird since I haven’t really fought in this form all that often. The only persons I fought in this form are Darius and Luka Flameheart, and Tang Xian when I fought him the first time. When I fought those three I was pretty much unknown on a global scale, so unless you witnessed those fights yourself you shouldn’t recognize this form which is impossible considering how those fights were all private….So how did you know that I was Miko?”
“What if I said that it was because you were with the Midnight witch and Tiamat? Because of the battle against Dragon Storm their faces are out there.”
Edward argued back.
“True, but I think that you’ve been monitoring us since came to this country.”
“Why would you think that?”
“A hunch.”
“A hunch?”
Miko nodded.
(Well, it’s not like it’s impossible for him to know that. There’s many ways he could’ve come that conclusion.)
Edward thought to himself.
“Anyway, you’ve practically stalked me for over a month, most likely installed cameras in our rooms beforehand thus invading our privacy, and caused me unnecessary trouble….”
Miko crossed his legs and leant back in his seat.
“You must have a good reason for doing all that. Otherwise, I’ll have to erase you from this earth.”
His eyes had a mad glow
“So, Code Breaker…What can I do for you?”
Edward involuntarily gulped after hearing his cold tone.
“Well, let me start by saying that I’m a huge fan of yours. Renacido, when I first heard about the establishment of a country that also served as a gang I was moved. That’s when I started to keep an eye on you who made it possible. The more I learnt about you and the actions you took, I was convinced.”
“Convinced about what?”
“You are a true Don.”
“Oh?”
Miko started showing interest in Edward.
“It seems like the term Don has a special meaning to you.”
“It does.”
Edward placed his hand over his heart.
“For me, a Don is someone who gathers lost souls and guide them. They gather people who live meaningless lives of violence and destruction and give them meaning. They create a place for those who can no longer be accepted by society.”
Edward looked at Miko with bright eyes and spoke with a bright tone.
“To me, they’re someone strong, ambitious, wise, kind when they’re supposed to be and cruel when needed to be. Most of all, fun.”
Miko looked at Edward in silence. He could see that he spoke the truth. He clearly looked up to the people called Dons.
“So in other words, you admire me?”
“That’s right.”
“However, I think this goes beyond admiration. You clearly have plans for me. Otherwise, you’d just be a sick stalker. So it’s better you get on with it and tell me what they are.”
(The fact that he didn’t kill me from the get go shows that he’s openminded, which means that he shouldn’t be hard to convince if I go about this correctly.)

“Just so you know, if I think that you’re lying ill skin you alive and feed you to Ishma. She hasn’t had human meat in years, so I’m sure she’ll gladly devour you. Right, Ishma?”
“He’s more of an appetizer than a meal but I’m not picky.”
Ishma started licking her lips. This caused Edward to laugh nervously. He took a deep breath and calmed himself. He was so calm that Miko started to wonder if his nervousness was an act.
“I want to make you the ruler of this country.”
“Oh? Now that’s sounds interesting. But are you capable of doing so?”
Edward smiled.
“I am. After all, I’m the one who started that war in the Red Light District.”

“Why are you here, Natasa Kingsley?!”
Sitting on burning debris and facing Jin and his group was a teenage girl with blonde hair and golden feline eyes. Her facial features were top notch but the savage expression along with her fanged smile made her scary. She was dressed casually in a bloodstained yellow hoodie and black jeans.
“What? Do I need permission to go wherever I want?”
Natasa jumped down from the burning debris.
“I’m free to go wherever I want. Also, I outrank you so I’d appreciate it if you don’t speak to me in such a tone.”
“Outrank me? You Pillars have no authority over us, especially myself.”
Jin seemed upset.
“Is that so? Either way, I’m free to do whatever I want.”
“Natasa, are you the one who did this?”
“Oh, Kaido.”
Natasa quickly approached Kaido and even spoke with a friendly tone.
“Yeah, I destroyed them. They were causing a mess of this place and were quickly becoming a threat to the country, so I got rid of them.”
“Rid? You mean you destroyed the entire coalition by yourself?”
“Not all of it. I just got rid of those calling the shots and slaughtered all who came for revenge. I destroyed their building just for the fun of it though.”
They all looked at natasa in silence. This teenage girl faced who knows how many thugs wielding powerful weapons of mass destruction and she’s talking as if she just went to an amusement park or something.
(This is it…This is the reason why this woman and Miko can’t meet. Their thirst for battle and chaos would clash and definitely result into a battle.)
Kaido thought to himself.
“More importantly, won’t you consider joining us, Kaido?”
Natasa poked Kaido’s chest.
“As long as you keep following that woman you’ll never be able to use your fangs freely. With me, that won’t be a problem. You can do what you want and no one will criticize you. Do you know why?”
She had a dangerous smile on her face.
“Because you are strong.”
Kaido looked down at her in silence before sighing.
“It’s a tempting offer but I have to decline. I owe Bloom too much to betray her.”
“Hmm…It doesn’t seem that way to me.”
She stepped back.
“If you ask me, you just need the right motivation. Besides, you’re different from this maniac over here. He’s a fanatic when it comes to that woman. That’s why I don’t waste my breath on him.”
“It’s good that you know that my loyalty to Bloom is unwavering.”
Jin sounded a bit proud.
“But let’s forget that for now. Natasa you overstepped your boundaries. The queen had already handed over authority to us to handle this. We’re the special police, it’s normal for us to get involved but you’re a pillar, so it’s different for you. Which means-”
*BAM!*
Natasa suddenly kicked Jin in the chest and sent him crashing into some burning debris.
“Which means that what I did was illegal and that I need to be punished, right?”
She started grinning and turned to look at the others.
“Then come and detain me. That’s if you can though.”
Sapphire and Hana immediately readied themselves for battle. As Kaido-
“Good kick. Well, done.”
He started to literally applaud Natasa. He pointed at his head.
“But you should’ve gone for the head.”
At moment, Jin appeared behind Natasa with his sword drawn. He slashed her from behind and cut the back of her hoodie. That was it though. He didn’t cut Natasa because she wasn’t there, just her hoodie.
“Ah!”
She appeared from above and slammed her heel on the top of Jin’s head.
“Eh?”
Her leg was grabbed by Jin, to her surprise, and he slammed her into the ground causing the area to tremble.
“Don’t get cocky, bitch. If wasn’t for the fact that Bloom didn’t order it, I would’ve ended you a long time ago.”
He spoke with a hoarse voice filled with anger.
“Oh? Then, end me then!”
Natasa kicked Jin under the chin and forced him to let go. She then got to her feet and uppercut him. Jin stepped back and she charged at him with a wild expression.
“Annoying brat!”
Jin floored the charging Natasa with a stomp to the chest. He gripped his sword tightly.
“I’ll skewer you!”
“Hahaha! Go ahead and try! I’ll take that arm before your blade reaches me!”
“Stop it, Jin.”
Just as Jin was about to stab Natasa, Sapphire grabbed onto his arm.
“Do you want to start a war?”
She spoke to him seriously and held on to him tight.
“Tsk.”
He stepped away and natasa sprung up and started dusting off her clothes.
“You’re as whipped as ever I see.”
She looked at Sapphire.
“I wonder how it feels to know that you’ll always be second to Bloom for him. Not that I really care about that.”
Jin looked enraged again but he didn’t act rashly.
“Hm…Well, this got boring pretty quickly.”
She looked at Kaido.
“Whenever you’re ready to be free again, you know where to find me.”
Without waiting for a reply she left in the smoke clouds behind her and disappeared from their sight.
“Natasa Kingsley….”
Jin started grinding his teeth.
“I’m gonna definitely kill you one day.”
