《Young Adversary》Author Note

Sup, Kodyak here with your usual Author’s Address at the end of an arc! So let’s get right into it!
I’M BURNT OUT!
My bad, I just needed to get that out there. Anyway, I’m really burned out which is understandable considering how much thought and planning was put in this arc. It felt like it’s been going on forever! But when I checked it was a whopping 89 chapters....Now that I look back, how did I casually have 100 chapters arcs in Mythical Conquest? I must be getting old, although I’m still in my early 20s lol. But seriously though, I gave it my all during this arc and I hope it shows. I was determined to create the best arc I could currently write and I’m somewhat unsatisfied. I feel like it could’ve been better....Maybe I’m just overthinking things.
Anyway, let’s dissect the arc and refresh your minds a little!
We start off with Miko and Luka’s clash. It might not seem that way because of how prominent she was for the entire arc but Luka’s character was only fleshed out in this arc. I’m proud of her character to be honest. Through her battle with Miko we got to see some more of Miko’s past and his personality. I was honestly content with her battle with Miko and how everything played out. Another important character that was introduced in this arc was Joesph Flameheart. Those who read the original story should be familiar with him but I changed him up a little. Joesph like everyone else has his own motive concerning Miko and also sees him as an important entity. His dynamics with Krow are also very important. Speaking of, Krow despite being built up to be a villain for Miko, he has been quiet the whole arc but that doesn’t mean that he’s just laying around. Watch out for him as well. Next, I wanna talk about Lisa Flameheart but because she’s important for future events I’ll just say to pay attention to what’s happening around her and the Flameheart Clan because it will lead to a major event in the future.
The next topic is the Grim Academy mini arc. This is where you can say that things really started setting up. This is where the four dragon stars entered the mix and I must say they add flavor to the arc. Especially Tang, but more on him and the Dragon Stars later. Let’s talk about the academy itself. Those who read the original story should be familiar with the academy but this time I gave it a different atmosphere and background. An academy built by 20 countries coming together is just incredible. I also tried my best to give the academy depth with the different divisions and sectors. Too bad I couldn’t dwell deeper into the academy setting. Maybe in the future....Now let’s talk about what happened at the academy, mainly the interactions between new characters and old ones. It was fun to write scenes where Miko’s group interacted and clashed with the dragon stars. The tournament was fun too. Originally, I was gonna do a complete tournament with Miko losing to tang before the finals but I thought that would be too generic. So I went with something completely unexpected and had the tournament move from the focus rather quickly. I honestly felt like I was taking a risk with having Miko destroyed by Tang but I guess it paid off lol. The tournament was to show off the strength of Miko’s group rather than Miko himself which is rather new in these types of stories.

Next is what happened after the tournament, the introduction of Tang Xian. Tang’s introduction was probably the most impactful in the whole story. The guy in a way defeated the entire dragna clan the moment he took Miko away from them. If he had killed Miko the clan could never recover their reputation even if they killed him. I don’t know how you guys feel about Tang but I’m really proud of his character. For the latter half of this arc, his every move determined what direction the story was going to take and he made sure that it was always exciting. Tang was only the second true antagonist Miko faced after Darius. Krow doesn’t count because he’s laying low. Just like Darius, Tang made Miko develop as a fighter, a character, and a person. This is a sign of a good rival if you ask me.
Next, Miko’s character development. After being completely outclassed by Tang Miko had to evolve or he would’ve died. I really dove into Miko’s psyche and showed the pain and suffering he felt and the madness that dwells within him. The current Miko is extremely dangerous because he can’t be predicted or understood by a sane person. But it works because he’s a lot more charismatic and intelligent which makes his character blossom like never before. Look forward to What madness he’ll commit in the future.
Next, the Proxy Battle Royal. The fights took a lot of creative thinking. I had to decide who fights who, who lives, who dies, who wins, who loses, how they win, and several new abilities and techniques. It was exhausting but I did it somehow. This battle gave everyone in Miko’s group a time shine which was great. The standout for me was Ace and Sora. Out of everyone they’re the only ones who powered through their fights and it wasn’t close. As you can tell, they and Hina are very important to future events. I also like Miko’s parents vs Tang’s father. It was intense from start to finish as a battle of that scale should be. The ending was pretty unexpected too. Hina and Momo’s battle pointed to some future events as well if you read between the lines.
Now, let’s talk about the results. As expected, Miko won but it wasn’t easy. The fight between Miko and Tang wasn’t the typical revenge battle; it was a fight between two warriors who respected each other and wanted to give it They’re all to win no matter the price. Through the battle we learnt more about Tang and why he does the things that he do. The ending was great too. To fight until you’ve turned into ash, awesome! Now, Dragon Storm is dead Thanks mostly to Alec and Kirika. By the way, this is the first time I’ve showed how deadly the bloodflame really is. Zora and Klaus lost but survived to fight another day. If you haven’t realized, their story isn’t over. After all, I never really fleshed them out but left bits of information here and there for the future. Originally, all the dragon stars expect Kaido was supposed to die but I thought that it would be a waste. Then I wanted to keep Zora and have Ace kill Klaus to make a statement but that also felt like a waste so they’re alive and will return in the distant future. As for Kaido, well next arc you’ll get to know him.

Now let’s talk about the Satans! Some of you must be confused since it was stated that Satan is a title and it is but it’s also sort of a special race. Here’s the thing, Samael was the father of all demons but he himself couldn’t be considered a demon but something above it, a Satan. He’s the first Satan. As his other half, Devoro is a Satan as well. I plan to dwell further into the topic later on but here’s a quick explanation. Samael was the first Satan as well as the first Irregular. irregulars are glitches in the system so the universe and fate sees them as enemies to a certain degree, Adversaries (Satans) you could even say. But that doesn’t mean all Irregulars are Satans. After all, Augustus wasn’t a Satan and Tiana Draxler isn’t an Irregular.....I can’t really explain it without spoiling the story so all I’ll say is remember when Samael said that Irregulars fall in two categories? That has something to do with it. I’ll explain it later but for now I want to talk about Miko as a Satan and Irregular. Miko showed two Satanic forms in this arc, the monstrous form that was like an abomination and the more “Human” form. The latter is closer to Miko’s final form while the former was his powers going berserk. The latter was previewed why back in chapter 34 which is called Apex Existence, which was the chapter after Miko got his swords. As for the second gate of Ascending Satan; I’m sure that you guys must’ve asked why did Miko turn into a woman. Well here’s the thing; all the stages of Miko’s Irregular power comes with a unique appearance. Dark Lord turned Miko into a devilishly handsome adult male, Chaotic Ruler turned him into Tiamat, the other three stages will turn him into something else that’s different from the previous two. I’m following a certain theme that I chose for Miko’s Satanic form. You know, like angels are said to be androgynous while some gods have multiple forms like young, old etc.
Anyway, Young Adversary only has 4 arcs left. After that the story moves to a new stage. What happens in those 4 arcs will change the story forever. So look forward to that.
Ah! I forgot to talk about Phantom!....Well, I’ll just leave him a mystery for now. Just know that the moment we enter his arc this story has officially caught up to the original since the last arc that I was writing before the rewrite was his arc.
Anyway! I’m taking a month to rest to think about the next arc which could be as long as the last arc Idk yet. I might come back the first week in October or the second week. I don’t know man....I’m just exhausted.....Oh, Nezuko is best girl…. That is all.

At the time of posting the first chapter of the series, books 1-2-3 are completed and books four, five and six are in various states of completion. There is currently a novella following a side character that does include a few crossover chapters featuring the main character. Wizards of the Otherworldly Court: End of the Five, Twenty-three, and Twenty-nine Years Story
Alternate titles: - Five, Twenty-Three, Twenty-Nine Years - 5, 23, 29 "Dad? I think I got a really bad fever, why do I still feel fine?" "It feels cold..." Five years ago, Owen became a Court Wizard in search of his father who was lost to the unknown three years prior. But that wasn't the beginning of the story. Maybe it began twenty-three years ago when Ronald Bell and Joshua Ruze saved the Illyer family. Or perhaps, it all started twenty-nine years ago, when Ronald, the son of the wealthiest merchant, became a Court Wizard. Well, it doesn't matter anymore, for the story five, twenty-three, and twenty-nine years ago shall now meet its end. 2nd book written in the Wizards of the Otherworldly series. Read Wizards of the Otherworldly Court: Alicia first. This story is split into two 'Collections,' Ronald's Collection and Owen's Collection, each centering around those Court Wizards. Crossposted with WordPress site, Wattpad, Sufficient Velocity, and Rainobu. Wizards of the Otherworldly Court is a fantasy story about the Otherworldly Court, an inter-dimensional (or world-hopping, you get the idea) organization made up of people of all ages, gender, and race from many parallel or different worlds. They are granted elemental-like magic powers and called themselves 'Court Wizards'. They are tasked to watch over the many worlds they come across and step into these worlds on 'missions' to preserve the balance, life, order, anything to make said worlds better places in the shadows but may reveal themselves if necessary. However, these missions may partially or even fully oppose their nature, personal interests, and ideals. Yet, most of the Court Wizards are aware and willing to complete even the worst missions that would shatter their true selves that they will never cast aside regardless, either growing or regressing because of it. Basically, it's isekai to multiple worlds but each book after Wizards of the Otherworldly Court: Alicia focuses primarily on one world while also discussing its lore in detail. Book Alicia is the introduction containing the essential worldbuilding of the Otherworldly Court universe you need to know while shoving in as many characters and worlds as I can. Also, each book will have a different main character, sometimes more than one in a single book, like Jojo.
