Kristen and Vidal were facing each other while being surrounded by debris.

“I heard that you beat Remi. That’s impressive.”

“…..Who are you?”

“What?”

“I know that you’re an enemy but it seems that we’ve met prior to this. If so, I apologize but I have no recollection of you whatsoever.”

“…….”

A vein started pulsating in Kristen head as he wore a “smile”.

“Are you trying to provoke me? If so I’d appreciate it if you stop because it’s a waste of time.”

“Hahaha! Sorry kid, but he’s serious.”

Kristen looked to his left and saw someone sitting on a broken wall. It was Zora’s Apostle, Kuga.

“Vidal is an airhead that doesn’t really notice the things around him most of the times.”

She jumped down from the wall.

“But he’s pretty incredible when he starts fighting.”

Kristen narrowed his eyes. He recognized Kuga and immediately knew that she was Vidal’s ally. He was now in a two-on-one situation.

“Hey, there’s no need to be tense.”

Kuga started walking towards him. And then-

“?!”

*Bam!*

Kristen suddenly accelerated towards Kuga and kicked her away sending her flying into the wall she was sitting on. The moment his feet touched the ground, Kristen immediately accelerated towards Vidal, who timed him and threw a punch at his head.

“?!”

To Vidal’s surprise, his fist passed through Kristen’s head. It was an afterimage.

“!”

He quickly spun around and got hit in the chest with palm strike. Kristen then twisted his palm that was on Vidal’s chest.

*Bam!*

A spiral force traveled through Vidal’s body and ripped a hole in the back of his shirt.

“Cough!”

He coughed up all the air in his lungs before being blown back. His body bounced off the ground a few times before he stopped himself and glared at Kristen.

“What the hell man?!”

Kuga got up and roared.

“We didn’t even do anything yet!”

“In a disadvantageous situation, the one who strikes first wins.”

Kristen then immediately rushed towards Vidal. Crimson aura started leaking from his body, Vidal on the other hand became surrounded by a dark green aura. He accelerated towards Kristen who leaped over his kick and swung his leg up and then slammed his heel on Vidal’s head.

“Hm?”

Kristen felt like his foot was stopped by a soft texture that block his attack. Vidal grabbed his foot and slammed him on the ground.

“Ugh!”

Vidal then spun him around and then threw him in the air.

“Yo.”

Kristen then saw Kuga above him.

“Payback is a bitch isn’t it?”

*Bam!*

She slammed her fist in Kristen’s stomach and forced him out of the air. Before he could recover he was hit in the back by Vidal, who leaped into the air to attack him after Kuga.

“Argh!”

Kristen groaned and shut his eyes only to open them and see Kuga diving towards him while clenching her fist. Seeing his predicament, Kristen activated his Vita.

*Bam!*

Kuga slammed her fist in the center of Kristen’s face and caused his body to flip and land on the ground. Vidal immediately aimed a stomp at his head.

“Vidal, look out! He blocked my punch with Vita! He’s fine!”

“?!”

Before he could react to what Kuga said, Vidal saw Kristen suddenly sprung to his feet with Vita concentrating at his fist. Vidal’s eyes widened as he saw the fist approach.

*Bam!*

“Guh?!”

Vidal’s eyes rolled to the back of his eyes as the sounds of his ribs shattering reached his ears. He was propelled into the air, and then crashed onto the roof of an old building which collapsed with him on it.

“I didn’t spend half a year in hell just to get my ass beat by you two.”

Kristen looked at Kuga with a fierce gaze.

“You two can come at me all you want. I’ll crush you both.”

“Tsk.”

Kuga clicked her tongue.

“I never intended to take this thing seriously since we’re only in this mess because of Klaus….”

Her body started to change as she became less human by the second.

“But I think that I’ll enjoy fighting you.”

Her skin had turned into orange scales, she grew a pair of curvy horns, had a pair of wings on her back and a thick tail.

“Dragonmen are at their strongest when they take their dragon forms….Looks like she’s getting serious.”

Kristen took a fighting stance. Kuga shot towards him like an arrow.

“?!”

Kristen instincts immediately warned him to avoid the charge so he leaped to the side. When he moved out of the way he saw Kuga make a sharp turn in the air and chased after him.

“She’s fast!”

Kristen realized that he couldn’t evade her, so he choose to take her on. He activated his Vita and his demon blood simultaneously. A golden and crimson aura surrounded him as he charged towards Kuga. Gold energy with a mix of crimson started concentrating in his palm. He thrust his palm forward and fired an energy blast. Kuga punched it and shockingly swat it away. In the next instant, she was in front of Kristen getting ready to hit him with her fist.

(I can’t take that punch!)

He shouted in his head. The punch moved towards his head and seemed like a death sentence.

“Super Tessa to the rescue!”

*Bam!*

Suddenly Tessa came from the side and kicked Kuga away before she could finish her attack.

“Tessa…”

Tessa turned around and showed a thumbs up.

“Don’t worry, Brother. I have your back.”

“You were watching this whole time and was just waiting for a chance to save me when I’m in trouble so that I’ll owe you, haven’t you?”

Tessa flinched and had a nervous smile on her face. She then turned around.

“Now that I’m here, you guys can’t gang up on Kristen anymore!”

She dodged the question.

“Hah~. Sometimes I wonder what goes on in your head.”

Kristen sighed and looked at Kuga who had gotten back up.

“Dragonmen are considered the strongest of all Beastmen for a reason. Her scales prevented her from taking any damage from Tessa’s attack and her physical abilities are phenomenal.”

“You still have that habit of analyzing your opponents out loud?”

Tessa asked.

“Shut up. The other one’s coming.”

A loud sound reached the twins’ ears. They looked and saw Vidal bursting out from under the rubble in his dragon form. He flapped his wings and shot towards the twins like a bullet.

“I’ll take him, you can dance with your girlfriend!”

Tessa charged towards Vidal, leaped, and hit him with a jumping knee strike.

“That didn’t do a thing.”

Vidal grabbed her with his scaly hands and slammed her onto the pavement. He then took to the skies while still grabbing onto her. He then threw up in the air.

“He’s forcing her into an aerial battle where he has the advantage.”

“Stay focus, Kid!”

Kuga aimed a flying kick at Kristen’s head which forced him to bend backwards to avoid it. Kuga grinned and spun in the air and slammed her leg onto his exposed chest and forced him into the ground.

“I’m a dragonman, I can fly and float, so I can easily maneuver midair.”

She twisted her body and stood up straight. She then stomped Kristen further into the ground.

“Guah!”

He could feel the sensation of his organs on the verge of bursting under the pressure. He placed his hand on Kuga’s leg and injected his Vita into it.

“Ahhh!”

Kuga felt like her leg was about to burst apart and kicked Kristen under the chin in a fit of rage. However, that was a mistake because Kristen caught her other leg and started pouring his Vita inside her.

“….!”

Kuga gritted her teeth because of the pain and took to the skies in an attempt to escape. Kristen however clenched onto her and kept injecting his vita. She got irritated and had to crash into several buildings to finally shake him off.

“Ha~! Ha~! Ha~!”

Kuga panted heavily as she floated in the air. She looked at her legs and saw Kristen’s finger marks burnt into her scaly leg.

“What was that? What did he do?”

“I merely injected my Vita into your legs and destroyed it from the inside. Just a little longer and I would’ve destroyed all nerves in your leg. You’d have to amputate them if that happened.”

Kristen stood up with his body bloodied from being slammed into several buildings. He swept his hair, that was wet from his own blood, back and from out of his face.

*Bam!*

Kuga heard a loud sound and looked up. There she saw Vidal charging at Tessa who was falling towards the sky. He slashed her with his claws and left a large cut in her back.

“You little!”

*Bam!*

Tessa spun around and hit him with a roundhouse kick. Vidal shook in the air before charging at her again only to get sent flying back by an uppercut. He once again charged at her and head butted her in the stomach and propelled her towards the ground.

“I ain’t going down that easily!”

Kuga then saw ice appeared at Tessa feet which she used as a foothold to jump back up towards Vidal. She created ice footholds and jumped from one to another with incredible speed, caught up to Vidal, and immediately entered a melee with him.

“She’s taking Vidal on in an aerial battle when she can’t even fly?”

“That’s nothing to get worked up about.”

Kristen started walking towards Kuga.

“She’s just that stupid.”

His eyes started glowing crimson as a fiery aura covered his body.

“You’re an apostle right? Then that means that you can use the power of a god, no. You’re in an alliance so you can use the power of two gods.”

He pointed at her and showed a devilish smile.

“Use it.”

“What?”

“I’m saying to use Nidhogg and Vritra’s powers. I’ve fought in hell for six months and developed some demonic skills that I’m dying to use. I don’t want you to die before I get to test them all so use it.”

“Hah?!”

Kuga immediately became enraged.

“What right do you have to order me around?!”

Kristen smiled.

“So you won’t take my advice? Don’t blame me for what happens.”

Kristen charged at her.

“Even if my legs are ruined I can still take you on!”

Kuga flew towards him with her top speed. The two collided and Kristen was forced back.

“See?!”

Kuga lifted him off the ground with an uppercut and then fell towards him. She then slashed him with her claws.

“?!”

However, her claws passed through him and his body dissipated in front of her eyes.

“An illusion?!”

She looked around and saw that she was surrounded by mist.

“Is this Mist Magic?”

(Yeah. I recently learnt it from my grandmother.)

Kuga wasn’t able to trace Kristen’s voice. The only thing she saw was mist.

“So you hid yourself like a coward after talking big?”

(I did no such thing. I said that I developed some new techniques that I wanted to test. This is one of them.)

Kuga then saw the mist changed into a bloody crimson. She then saw demonic faces appear in the mist laughing at her. Kristen’s voice then reached her ears.

(Beleth’s Demon Mist.)

The mist suddenly charged at Kuga, she flew higher to escape it but no matter how hard she flew she couldn’t escape the mist.

“Mist magic is mainly used to mess with one’s senses….”

She clicked her tongue in irritation when she realized that there’s a chance that she wasn’t actually flying where she thought, and she was having her senses messed with.

*Bam!*

Suddenly her body was hit from all angles and she immediately felt agonizing pain.

“Dammit!”

The Apostle Crest on her hand started glowing.

“Black Root!”

Suddenly gigantic roots burst out of her body and spread into the mist.

“Guh?!”

Kristen was hit out of the mist with a root piercing into his body and lifting him into the sky. The mist immediately dissipated and Kuga was free.

“There, are you happy?”

In the air, Vidal was in a bloody battle of fists against Tessa. She didn’t back down no matter how hard he came at her with his superior dragon strength. She instead kept replying to his attacks with ones of her own. At first, Vidal thought that they had weight but not threatening but as their battle waged on he discovered something.

“Her attacks are getting deadlier as time goes on!”

He kicked Tessa in the stomach and slapped her with his tail. Tessa was propelled towards the ground but a sheet of ice appeared under her and stopped her. She got up and spat out the blood gathering in her mouth. She then created more ice footholds and leaped towards Vidal.

“This girl is freaking insane!”

Vidal saw a crimson light shining in Tessa’s eyes and found himself shaking. He immediately activated his Apostle Crest and power started surging into his body.

“I’m gonna finish this and find my brother and sister!”

He suddenly disappeared from Tessa’s sight and reappeared directly in front of her.

“Asura’s Fist!”

He punched Tessa and six fist marks appeared over her body as if she was punched by a six armed Asura.

*Bam!*

Tessa was finally forced out of the air and into ground. Her body formed a crater which she laid in while coughing up blood.

“…….”

She looked up and saw her brother being pierced by several tree roots.

“…Having fun?”

“I could ask you the same.”

Both Kuga and Vidal were shocked to see the two of them still able to have a conversation in their states.

“Your names were Kuga and Vidal right?”

Kristen spoke to the two.

“I’m sure your leaders both gave you advice on this battle. Are you curious as to what advice our brother gave us?”

“Have fun. That was all he said.”

Tessa answered for Kristen.

“Despite this chaotic situation he was still able to tell us to have fun. Isn’t that funny?”

Kristen started trying to break free from the roots while Tessa tried to get up. Seeing this Kuga and Vidal acted quickly.

“Black Roots!”

The roots in Kristen’s body started growing causing more fatal wounds.

“Ugh?!”

Vidal on the other hand descended from the sky like a meteor and stomped Tessa deeper into the ground.

“Cough?!”

Tessa vomit up blood and her consciousness started fading, the same thing happened to Kristen.

“Good. Just stay down.”

Kuga spoke as if she was praying. She still couldn’t help the nervous feeling she had in her heart. Her animal instincts were telling her that she wasn’t out of the woods yet.

********

“Kristen, Tessa. Don’t become like your brother, alright?”

The twins looked up to their brother who they were so used to seeing being bright, looking like a dying flame. He had suddenly changed and was now living a life that even the 8 year old twins could tell was without hope. Yet, he still did his best to smile brightly in front of them and showed the same love that he always had. Seeing him like this, the two vowed to help him, to become his beacons in the darkness when he needed it the most.

“We want to be able to help Miko achieve his goal. We are willing do anything to make him happy.”

They said to their grandparents while in the hellish world. Even in this hell, they still thought about him.

“Then, the best thing you can do to keep him happy is to become happy yourselves.”

That was the answer they got from their grandmother.

“What should you do during the Battle Royale?”

They approached their battle before they fought for him for the first time. They wanted to continue to fight for him for all eternity so they couldn’t afford to lose the first battle.

“Just have fun, I guess. You’re my little brother and sister so I’m sure that everything will be alright if you just think about enjoying yourselves.”

Their brother that they looked up since they were born showed them a bright smile.

“You don’t need to worry about me. Just go and enjoy yourself.”

********

“?!”

Kuga was shocked when she saw Kristen grab the roots that were digging into his body.

“You’re heavy…”

Vidal looked down and saw Tessa who a huge grin on her face. That grin gave Vidal a weird vibe so he distanced himself on reflex. He saw Tessa slowly get to her feet.

“Kristen, I’ll ask again. Are you having fun?”

A bloody grin appeared on Kristen’s face.

“Of course. I get to show off everything I’ve learn in hell after all. What about you?”

Tessa stood up straight with a beastly smile on her face.

“I’m having a lot of fun and I’m going to have a lot more.”

Crimson and black aura started seeping from Tessa’s body. Meanwhile the same was happening to Kristen. The roots that were growing inside him quickly turned into ice before being melted by crimson flames. After being freed, crimson flames formed wings behind him and kept him afloat.

“….These two are freaks.”

Kuga said. Soon she started smiling.

“Have fun huh?”

A beastly aura started seeping out of her and Vidal’s body. It was as if they were showing off the dragon presence. All four of them took a fighting stance.

“I guess we’ll take your brother’s advice.”

Kristen nodded.

“Let’s all have fun!”

The four of them charged towards each other and a battle far intense than before took place.
