《Young Adversary》156th Adversary: Invasion!

Renacido. Miko was standing in the middle of the military base in Ishmavael and was looking at the sky.
“Miko…”
Layla appeared behind him.
“I thought I told you to go to Dragna City. This place is going to turn into a war zone soon. You and the rest of the citizens are to stay in the capital since it’s safe.”
“I already told you that I won’t run and hide while you and the others fight.”
“Looks like not even death cures stubbornness.”
Layla had a proud smile on her face. Miko sighed.
“Since you’re dead set on staying behind then stick to Gizmo. He’s in charge of support.”
“Alright.”
Layla once again looked at Miko who kept his eyes locked on the sky. She opened her open to speak-
“Tang did something didn’t he?”
Miko spoke before her.
“He attacked the Vritra Empire and left our name behind. The empire is now on the move.”
“I see…That’s explains the malice that’s coming towards us.”
“Malice? But our sensors didn’t pick up anything.”
“Oh, they’re coming. I can feel it on my skin.”
Layla saw a huge grin appear on Miko’s face.
“Let them come. I have just the perfect thing to greet them with.”
He finally turned around and faced Layla.
“How many soldiers did Dale and Aloe send?”
“500 soldiers each.”
“Send them back.”
“What?!”
“I said send them back. I originally requested them as back up in the case that Gizmo and MYTH didn’t come through. They did so there’s no use wasting lives.”
“I know about Gizmo, but you contacted MYTH too?”
“I do have a contract with them. So I need to purchase weapons from them every month. Since that’s the case, I decided to make some useful purchases.”
“What did you buy?”
*BEEP!* *BEEP!* *BEEP!*
The sounds of alarms going off interrupted their conversation.
“Looks like they’re here.”
********
Over 10,000ft in the air, there was a fleet of aircrafts approaching the Dragna borders. The aircrafts had Vritra’s insignia on it.
On one of these aircrafts Klaus was sitting in the commander seat with a frown on his face. He recalled the conversation he had with his father.
“Klaus, this is your mess. You need to clean it up.”
Emperor Ahi said to his son.
“That being said, I won’t ask you to solve everything yourself. You can deploy the Rakshasa Squad along with some of the army and our gear. I’ll also allow you to use your brother and sister as well. They are your apostles after all.”
“Tsk.”
Klaus clicked his tongue in annoyance.
“I must look like a nuisance in his eyes now.”
He mumbled.
“What are you getting worked up about?”
Klaus turned to the side and saw a beautiful woman with short green hair and caramel skin. She had a well-toned body and seemed even a bit muscular for a woman.
“Sister Tara….I wasn’t worked up.”
“I find it cute that even after all these years you think that you can still lie to me without me noticing.”
She braced on his chair.
“You should stop letting the old man get to you and live your life.”
“I am living my life.”
“If you were, we wouldn’t be in this mess and you would still be talking to Zora.”
“Don’t mention that idiot to me.”
Klaus got even more upset.
“That idiot is accompanying you with just his apostles into enemy territory.”

“……”
Klaus kept quiet. Tara sighed.
*BAM!*
Suddenly one of their ships was hit by a light and was forced out of the sky.
“What was that?!”
“My Prince, we’re under attack!”
A soldier reported.
“I can see that, moron! I want to know where the attack came from and can we return fire?!”
*BAM!*
Another aircraft was shot out of the sky.
“I don’t care anymore! Just start firing at what’s in front of you! I don’t care how many you kill!”
“Y-Yes, My Prince!”
Klaus’s fleet started firing at the Renacido borders. Explosions occurred as lasers bombarded the lands.
*BAM!*
Even so, Klaus’s aircrafts were being taken out one by one.
“Hm…It looks like they’re using a super long range weapon. I don’t think they’re firing from the border.”
Tara said.
“I’ll go take a look.”
“Wait!”
Before he could stop her, Tara disappeared from where she was. She was now standing on top of the aircraft.
“I see…”
Tara placed her hand over her eyes as if to help her see better. Her eyes were slit like a reptiles. She could see dozens of miles in front of her like they were only a few meters away. She saw a giant cannon on the roof of a building that was at least a dozen miles in Renacido.
“Now it makes sense why they couldn’t find it.”
She lifted her hand and the Apostle Crest on her hand started glowing. A black sinister bow appeared in her hand. She pointed the bow in front of her and pulled the string. A serpent-shaped arrow appeared. She locked her target and fired. It looked like a strike of black lightning flashed across the sky.
*BOOM!*
A huge explosion occurred dozens of miles in Renacido. The explosion caused mass destruction wrecking many buildings and destroying the cannon.
“That should do it.”
********
“What the hell was that?!”
“That’s some crazy range her attack had.”
Inside the military base, Miko and others just witnessed Tara destroy their cannon from who knows how many miles away.
“If I remember correctly, that’s Tara Vritra; eldest child of Emperor Ahi IV.”
Alec said.
“I heard that she’s a master archer.”
“Then you heard right.”
Miko looked towards Gizmo.
“Do you have any other long range weapon?”
“Nope. That was a prototype. It was expensive too.”
Gizmo looked upset.
“Don’t worry. I’ll repay you for every weapon you lose.”
Miko stood up and stretched his body.
“Since the super long range cannon is down we have no way to stop them until they reach the border. And now that they’ve started their attack they most likely won’t stop.”
“Are you going out?”
Miko smiled.
“I wouldn’t be a good host if I don’t go and greet my guests.”
*******
“Looks like it has began.”
Zora and his two apostles were in an aircraft different from Klaus’s.
“Looks like they took out whatever was shooting down the planes.”
Said Laz as he cleaned the blade of a sword.
“Tara probably took care of it.”
Kuga was cleaning a glaive.
“We should be reaching the borders soon, so be prepared.”
Zora stood up and walked towards the nearest window.
“Hm? What’s that?”
“What’s wrong?”
Kuga and Laz came up and looked through the window as well.
*******
At the borders of Renacido, there was someone looking at the approaching aircrafts with a smile on his. This person was naturally Miko. He was leaning on a giant bike which was 6ft tall, 8ft long, and 2ft thick. The bike was silver with gold trimmings. It had the abbreviation MYTH on it which was under a sun. Miko waved at the aircrafts before jumping onto the monster bike.

(User confirmed. Welcome, Miko.)
A computerized voice came from the bike after Miko got on it.
“Silver Chariot, switch to manual mode.”
(Roger.)
The handles of the bike started glowing and a pair of gloves appeared on Miko’s hands and a helmet appeared on his head. He gripped the handlebars and then pressed a button on it.
*Bam!*
The bike blast off like a rocket and reached the speed of a jet in mere seconds.
“Flight mode.”
(As you wish.)
The exhaust pipe suddenly double in size and started spitting out flames. The bike immediately lifted off the ground. Once off the ground, the wheels turned horizontally and the exhaust pipe returned to normal. Even so the bike continued to climb up in the air. It was because of the wheels were now generating thrust like a jet engine.
In less than a minute, Miko had reached the same level as the aircrafts.
“Is that an Apollo Series Silver Chariot?!”
The soldiers were shocked when they saw what Miko was riding.
“That thing costs a fortune!”
Klaus on the other started frowning. Miko paused in the air and looked at the aircrafts with a mocking smile on his face.
“Open communications.”
On Klaus’s aircraft, an image of Miko appeared on the monitors.
“Yo, Klaus. I hope you don’t mind me having my bike hack your communication channels.”
“That’s a pretty impressive bike you got. I heard that one of them cost as much as an annual budget of a small country.”
“Yeah, I got it on sale.”
Miko laughed.
“Klaus, while I don’t mind, do you really think it’s wise to get involved in the feud between me and Tang?”
“It’s too late for that. We already have casualties.”
“Well, you’ll only have more if you continue to push your invasion.”
“That is expected in war.”
Miko nodded.
“I see. Then don’t blame me for what I’m about to do.”
Miko gripped the bike handle and the bike shot forward.
“Wait, is he planning on ramming us?!”
Before anyone could answer Klaus the bike crashed into his aircraft.
*BAM!*
Klaus was blown to the floor by an explosion. When he looked he saw Miko and his bike in his aircraft.
“Y-You crazy bastard!”
Klaus roared.
“Why is that the first thing people always say to me when I go to meet them these days?”
Miko got off his bike and started walking towards Klaus.
“Stop him!”
The soldiers inside rushed towards Miko to protect their prince.
“Unfortunately I didn’t come here to fight you.”
Miko stooped down and slammed his fist on the floor.
*Bam!*
The ground burst open which caused everyone to stop.
“Don’t tell me….”
They all paled. Miko showed a bright smile as his placed hand on the engine that was just exposed by him.
“I’ll see you on the ground.”
*Bam!*
Miko punched the engine and then leaped towards his bike.
“You crazy mother-”
*BOOM!*
Flames spread out in the sky as Klaus’s ship exploded.
“Hahahaha!”
Miko laughed as he escaped the burst of flames on his bike. You could see a barrier around him that protected him from the flames.
“Miko!”
Klaus roared as he shot out of the flames with an enraged expression. That level explosion wasn’t enough to kill but it was enough to piss him off, which was Miko’s goal.
“Stop.”
Klaus was stopped from chasing Miko by his sister Tara.
“He’s leading you in a trap. If you chase after him you’ll be surrounded and killed.”
Klaus gritted his teeth and shouted.
“All troops! Abandon all airships!”
“Surely, you aren’t going to have us advance on foot?”
“We’re Dragonmen. We can fly there.”
“Then what are you going to have us do with the airships?”
Klaus showed a devious smile.
“I’m going to take a page out Miko’s book.”
Meanwhile Miko returned to the borders of Renacido in his monster bike.
(Miko, why did you do that?)
Momo’s voice came from the bike.
“It seemed fun at the time to piss Klaus off.”
Miko laughed.
(Is this a game to you know?! We’re at war.)
“Momo, war is a game. One I intend to enjoy to the fullest….Hm?”
Miko saw that he was being covered by a massive shadow and looked up.
“Well, I’ll be damn.”
He stopped and looked behind him.
(Whats the problem?)
“It looks like I pissed Klaus off a bit too much.”
Behind Miko was the Vritra Empire’s fleet free falling out of the sky and towards Renacido. Miko could see the entire Vritra army flying in the sky using their dragon wings, which meant these ships were unmanned.
*BOOM!*
The first airship fell on top of a dozen houses and exploded destroying the entire neighborhood. Soon the rest followed suit and started crashing into Renacido, causing mass destruction when they blew up.
“Hahahaha! Take that Miko!”
Klaus laughed maniacally as he watched Renacido be riddled with explosions.
“He’s finally lost his mind.”
Zora mumbled as his watched his former best friend.
“Holy shit!”
Meanwhile, Miko was on the ground evading falling airships and the explosions they caused. He could constantly feel the scorching heat on his back.
(Miko! Miko! What’s going on?!)
Momo’s voice came from the bike again.
“Hahahaha!”
Miko only laughed hysterically without reply.
“This is fun! This fun, Klaus! I underestimated you!”
Miko shouted while avoiding a burning debris that almost hit him.
“Momo, things are really heating up!”
(Miko return to the base immediately!)
“Hell no! Layla, cancel my previous order! Deploy the troops! It’s all war!”
Back at the military base in Ishmavael.
“It’s no use. He’s not listening to reason.”
Momo clenched her fists.
“It seems that Miko doesn’t intend on holding back anymore.”
Layla stood up from her seat.
“Where are you going?”
“I’m going to deploy the troops. That’s what Miko ordered.”
“Tsk.”
Momo clicked her tongue.
“Since he doesn’t want to play it safe then there’s no use arguing.”
She started equipping herself.
“It’s time to go to war.”
“Uh oh.”
“What is it?”
Momo looked at a soldier who was operating one of the many computers.
“W-We just picked up another party rapidly approaching us.”
“What?”
Momo and the others approached the soldier and he showed them a radar that was picking up a huge cluster heading their way. She showed a bitter smile.
“There’s goes the last bit of sanity this battle had.”
Meanwhile, Miko stopped in the burning city that was filled with debris. He wasn’t paying the Vritra Empire any mind and they also were ignoring him and looking in the same direction as him.
He, Klaus, and Zora all started grinning and they all spoke at simultaneously.
“So you’ve come, Tang?!”
About 10 miles away, there was massive dust cloud on the ground. What caused this massive dust cloud was an army of armored vehicles that was being headed by a sole biker. This bike was white and had an azure dragon on it. The person who rode it was none other than Tang Xian. His draconic eyes peeked out from under his helmet. He showed an excited smile and accelerated.
“Sorry for the wait. Let’s get this party started, shall we?”
