《Young Adversary》155th Adversary: Tang’s Move

Renacido. A fleet of airships landed at a military base. This military base was built near Nebulous City and existed in its own city called Ishmavael, in the honor of Ishma. Miko thought that it was a fitting name for a military city since Ishma loved war.
“Ah, it feels good to be in a city named after you.”
Ishma said after walking off one of the aircrafts.
“Don’t let it get to your head.”
Regis grumbled.
“I’m sorry and may I ask where is your city?”
Regis walked past her and ignored Ishma who was laughing.
“The assault was successful I presume?”
Layla approached their aircraft with her bodyguards behind her.
“It was a success.”
Miko stepped off the aircraft with a smile.
“We were able to take back most of those who had been taken from us. We also got the locations of the rest. A different team is working to retrieve them.”
“That’s great news. Looks like Gizmo’s teleportation device was a success.”
Miko nodded.
“Having him create one was a great idea, Layla. It made the plan a lot easier. I was just going to burn Dragon Storm to the ground at first.”
Miko laughed.
“Let’s wait for the others to return and then prepare for the next battle.”
After nearly a hour, Miko and all of those involved in this battle were gathered together in the military.
“I can’t believe you actually went back?! Are you stupid?!”
Kirika shouted at Alec.
“That senile bastard wounded me. I couldn’t let that go. My body is a national treasure you know.”
“How about I bury it and make it a hidden treasure?”
Kirika started pulling her sword from her sheath.
“I can’t believe that you got away from Fang Xian. How did you do it?”
Luka asked Alec.
“I merely showed him all my cards. He realized that it wasn’t worth it and folded.”
Alec had a sly smile on his face.
“More importantly, the first assault was a success. Right now, Dragon Storm should have their hands full with all of their enemies knowing where they are.”
“I’ve confirmed that they’re still fighting.”
Gizmo spoke while operating his smart watch.
“Okay. While they’re busy we’ll prepare for our other enemies.”
Miko said.
“Dragon Storm aren’t the only enemies that will come at us in the near future. There’s also the combined force of Klaus and Zora who belongs to the infamous Black Bone Tribe and the Vritra Empire.”
“You also definitely offended all of Han when you attacked Ao Guang. There’s a chance that other Han countries might aid Dragon Storm.”
Leon said.
“I already took that into consideration and had someone send them a warning.”
“Who?”
Miko showed a sly smile.
“Gramps.”
“Thought you said you didn’t want any help from the empire?”
“I said that I didn’t want their help regarding Dragon Storm, I never said anything about anyone else.”
“What a way to twist your words.”
Alec laughed.
“I’m not stupid. If dragon storm seeks outside help why wouldn’t I do the same? The only difference is that I’m making sure that outsiders don’t interfere.”
Miko had a smug expression on his face. He then leant over on the table in front of him.
“This is a game between Tang and myself. I can tolerate other Dragon Stars getting involved but that’s it.”
An clown-like smile appeared on his face.
“Everything else is just trash blocking the way. So there’s nothing wrong if I lit it a fire, right?”

Miko’s expression and tone made everyone’s heart started racing. They could tell that he was enjoying himself and would destroy anything that tries to stop his fun; and that meant anything.
He leaned back with the same smile.
“Zora and Klaus should planning on attacking when Tang and I are in the middle of a heated battle. That way they can quickly get rid of us who will be surrounded by enemies from all sides. So let’s give them what they want.”
“What? Miko that will put us at a major disadvantage.”
Sora protested.
“No, it actually works out for us. Once all four, five counting Luka are gathered then the real battle will begin. From there on, all you need to do is focus on crushing the enemy in front of you.”
He turned to Kirika and Alec.
“You two will assist in handling the rest.”
Alec thought about it for a bit and looked like he picked up on what Miko was planning.
“I see. Leave the rest to us.”
Kirika nodded in agreement.
“Gizmo, I would like for you to assist them as well.”
“Do I get to test some of my inventions?”
“Until you’re satisfied. Go and show the world how terrifying alchemy can be.”
“Then, I’m in.”
“Alright.”
Miko stood up.
“Renacido, prepare to bathe in blood.”
*************
Hanzu Dynasty, Ao Guang. After nearly 12 hours of constant battling, Dragon Storm was finally able to fight off their enemies long enough to reactivate the spell that hid them in an isolated space. This, however, didn’t mean that they were safe. Now that everyone knew where they were even if they hid for now, the moment they leave the isolated space they’ll encounter enemies who are waiting for them.
“Goddammit!”
*Bam!*
In the executive meeting room, Xue Bao slammed his fist on the table in front of him. His body trembled with anger and he gritted his teeth.
“I can’t believe that the proud Dragon Storm is now hiding away from its enemies! This is a big disgrace!”
“Calm down, Teacher. The situation isn’t all that bad.”
Tang said.
“Young Master, the situation is indeed bad! You smiling and acting carefree won’t change that!”
“Getting mad wont solve anything, Old man Bao.”
Said Xiao Zhi.
“We need to accept that we were outsmarted by Renacido. From start til finish everything went as they wanted. I still can’t wrap my head around how everything came to this.”
“If you want I can explain it.”
Tang said.
“Will explaining it really do anything now?”
“No, but it will make us realize how crafty the opponent is, so we won’t get caught in something similar in the future.”
“Go ahead, Tang.”
Fang said. Tang nodded.
“First, we must ask how they discover us? The answer is in this.”
Tang took out an azure scale from his pocket.
“In the past, I used this scale to destroy Renacido’s capital from within. They use this same scale to track us.”
“The scale is an authentic dragon scale from a True Dragon. Most of the world can’t get their hands on something like this without paying a hefty price, but we gave all of our members one which is pretty insane even for the wealthy. They must have reasoned that we couldn’t have bought all these scales which meant that we got them from a True Dragon. Han is filled with pure breed dragons, even if they aren’t as powerful as the ones of old. So they naturally knew that we were here.”

“But that isn’t that hard to figure out. Anyone with a good information network can easily find out that we’re in the Hanzu Dynasty. But finding out our exact location is far more difficult.”
Kane said.
“True, but only Ao Guang has azure dragons. They also probably heard that Shenlong doesn’t get along with his descendants in his own country, so we won’t be there. Also, the very reason why came here to Ao Guang was because the Azure Dragon and Shenlong’s Descendants have similar features, so father and I could easily mix into the crowd. Using all this information they deduced that this place was our hiding spot.”
Tang explained.
“As for how they knew that Azure Cloud was our cover…Even I don’t know how Miko picked that one up. If there’s anything it must be the similarities between the name Azure Cloud and Dragon Storm’s symbol of a dragon hiding in the clouds.”
“Isn’t that exactly the reason?”
Xiao Zhi sighed.
“I spotted the Sword Maiden and Alec of the Bloodflame along with another woman.”
“I believe that was the Midnight Witch, Momo. Not many knew what her adult form looked like which made her perfect for infiltration.”
Fang said.
“She’s also a very skilled spellmaster, which is evident from her destroying our spell. She, Alec and Kirika Dragna then went on to distract us by making us think that they’re targeting Tang and allowed Miko to enter and do as he liked. He most likely slipped in the moment Alec used the Bloodflame to destroy the barrier. We was so focused on Alec that we didn’t pick him up.”
Fang had weird expression on his face.
“It was an elaborate plan right?”
Tang asked his father.
“That Miko kid is a great tactician. It’s a shame that we have to kill him otherwise I would try recruiting him.”
“That’s all I want to hear. Killing them!”
Xue Bao shouted.
“It was just a punch, let it go.”
“Never! I’ll grind those brats into dust!”
“Anyway, we need to start a counterattack soon.”
Tang stood up.
“Miko had his shot now it’s my turn again.”
“What are you going to do, Young Master?”
Kane asked. Tang smiled and said-
“It’s not what I’m going to do, it’s what I already did.”
Outside the isolation space. A large group of people were gathered waiting for Dragon Storm to emerge again. A lot of them them were wounded and had frowns on their face. They had just fought against Dragon Storm and was forced back, so they were naturally in a bad mood.
“Hm?”
While they were sulking they saw someone walking towards them. This person who was dressed in a gold and black cheongsam, was a beautiful woman with silky black hair and pink eyes.
“Who’s that?”
A lot of people looked at the woman in wonder, not for her beauty but for the otherworldly presence that she had.
“Are you the barbarians that so rudely invaded this country to wreck havoc?”
The woman’s voice was enchanting to say the least. It made people, regardless of sex, feel like they were daydreaming.
“Who’s asking?”
The woman smiled and pulled out a spear.
“Nezha.”
“One of the Imperial Generals?!”
People started backing away in fear. The woman showed a lovely smile as she pointed her spear at them.
“I’ll have you leave this land immediately.”
She moved and soon blood flooded the streets and screams echoed across the land.
“You requested for the Dynasty to help remove those outside?”
Fang asked his son.
“Regardless of their reasons, they still invaded the Hanzu Dynasty. So the Dynasty had all right to remove them. I just gave them a heads up about what was happening.”
“With the Dynasty taking action, no one would be stupid enough to come here for revenge. That solves our problems.”
“But we still wasted lives and resources fighting them. So Miko still achieved his goal.”
Tang pressed a button under the table and a monitor was lowered from the ceiling. It turned on and showed a video.
“This is a live feed of the Vritra Empire’s worship altar where they offer prayers to their patron god, Vritra.”
The video showed an altar with all kinds of sculptures and works of art of Vritra. They could see people there offering their prayers.
*BOOM!*
Suddenly the altar exploded, causing stone fragments and body parts to be flung about.
“Did you do that?”
Fang asked. He didn’t seem upset, he was just curious.
“No, Renacido did.”
“You’re framing them?”
“The Vritra Empire is already an enemy that’s planning on surrounding us along with Renacido when we’re focusing on destroying each other. Miko most likely knows this and has his own plans to deal with them and their allies the Black Bone Tribe. While I’m curious as to what he’s planning, I find it boring waiting on everyone to make their move.”
Tang showed a crazed smile.
“That’s why I’m speeding things up. Too much scheming and no action is boring, I want action, chaos, mayhem. That’s why I love war. The thrill of having enemies coming at you from every direction is the best.”
He suddenly became calm.
“However, I am the leader of an organization so I have to make due with this.”
“Make due?”
They looked at the people screaming out in agony after losing love ones and their limbs.
“This is making due?”
Tang didn’t answer and changed the video feed. Or rather the angle of the feed. They could now see things from a bird’s eye view. From this angle you can see that the flames caused by the explosion spelt a word.
“Renacido.”
“Will they take the bait?”
“Klaus has no choice but to. He’s the one who wanted to poked his nose in our battle so his people will naturally blame him for this attack. Even if he knows that Miko isn’t the one behind it, he still has to attack him because of his people. When people are angry they are unreasonable and can’t think straight. They’ll need a target to vent this anger on.”
“And this message will give them a Target.”
Xiao Zhi nodded with an expression saying that she understood.
“Also, the Dragna clan has a history of attacking their enemies with brutal methods, so there’s no reason for the people of Vritra to believe that it’s not them. After all, didn’t they destroy multiple countries recently?”
“Great job, Young Master. This will be payback to those brats! We’ll just sit back and watch them exhaust themselves against the Vritra Empire and the Black Bone Tribe and then sweep in and kill everyone.”
Xue Bao was overjoyed.
“What are talking about, Teacher?”
“Huh?”
Tang spoke with a smile.
“We’re going to attack both sides the moment they make contact. It’ll truly turn into chaotic mess then.”
“Huh?”
Tang ignored the shocked looks he was getting and said-
“Come on, we might miss the fun.”

Magriculture (Rewrite)
When Aurum Industries announced the first Full Immersion Virtual Reality Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (FIVRMMORPG if you're hip) Limitless Online, most people saw it as an opportunity to live out their sword and sorcery fantasies. John, however, saw it as the opening of a new and as of yet uncrowded job market. One he was willing, and eager, to exploit. Determined to make money through virtual hard work and effort, John sets his sights not on the heights of magic or the perfection of the sword, but instead upon the tilling of the soil and the sowing of seeds as he explores the wide and wonderful world of magical agriculture all from the comfort of his own bed. Disclaimer: This is a rewrite of the original "Magriculture", which some of you may have read. (To those who did, you have my deepest gratitude, it is absolutely because of your patronage and comments that this rewrite happened, and I feel the story is better for it.) That said, this story is not a complete and polished work, there will be mistakes and errors, an occasionally these errors may mean I need to rewrite portions of the story (as of this posting the story has gone through two major rewrites already, and I'm seriously hoping there won't be need of a third.) Because of this, there may at times be changes. Such changes may be as small as editing a few numbers (such as going back and changing how much mana an object holds) or it may force me to re-write entire chapters (this has happened once already, and I'm really hoping it doesn't happen again, but... life). Minor re-writes will probably never be posted here. Major rewrites probably will. Anyway, what this boils down to is: If you're looking for a fully cohesive story with few to no errors and publisher level editing, this is not the story for you. If you're looking for a cohesive plot that's more than "Man farms, man farms, man farms well, man maybe makes money" you're probably also in the wrong place, but I will attempt to entertain you anyway.
