《Young Adversary》153rd Adversary: Geared Up For War!

The home of the Higher Beings, the Summit Of The Gods. This place was created with the combined effort of everyone who lived there. As such, this place had countless dimensions and realms intertwined together to form it. This was because everyone wanted to add their own flavor to it and created their own personal spaces. This place was made up of countless levels and zones, so much that it’s said that it’s impossible to travel to everywhere on foot in a lifetime.
In one of the many spaces, there was a garden that was filled with some of the most exotic flowers. The level of beauty that existed in this place could be said to be outside what mortals can understand. Inside this place was a large table that was made of gold and platinum as well as having beautiful diamonds embedded in it. Sitting around the table were five individuals. Four men and one woman.
The woman was Tia who was dressed in a beautiful teal-blue dress. Beside of her was Ouroboros who was dressed in a black tuxedo with a red bow tie. Across from them were three other individuals. One of them had azure hair and golden eyes like Tiamat. He had a handsome and majestic face and was dressed in oriental azure and golden robes. This was the Chinese Dragon God of weather and storms, Shenlong.
Near to Shenlong was a caramel-skin man with green hair that was tied into one. He had red eyes and a devilishly handsome face. He was in a green suit and sat with a mean look on his face. This was the Asura King and sworn enemy of Indra, the demon dragon Vritra.
Near Vritra was the final person. He had jet black hair, fair skin, and beaming red eyes. He was muscular and was dressed in a black suit with a red tie. Just like Vritra he had a mean look on his face. This was the dragon that had the strength to shake the nine Norse worlds, the evil dragon Nidhogg.
Tiamat, Ouroboros, Shenlong, Vritra, and Nidhogg. These 5 dragon deities were gathered together in this garden. If anyone was to stumble on this scene they would probably faint from shock.
“When was the last time we’ve all gathered like this.”
Ouroboros was the first to speak.
“I doubt the five of us have ever gathered together.”
Shenlong said.
“I see. Then this should be a joyous event. Five great dragons from different pantheons are gathered together after all.”
“Boros, you don’t need to break the ice. These bastards aren’t worth the trouble.”
Tia said while glaring at the three dragons in front of her.
“Tiamat’s right. We were never friends in the first place. So there’s no need to try and become friends now.”
Vritra said.
“Besides, we all know why we’re here and it’s by no means anything needing celebrating.”
Tia nodded.
“That’s right. You don’t throw a party every time you kill a cockroach, right?”
Tiamat’s words caused Shenlong, Vritra, and Nidhogg to frown.
“That’s rich coming from a woman whose proxy was at the mercy of my own.”
Shenlong spoke with a mocking tone.
“Do I need to remind you the sensation of being strangled again, Brat?”
“Calm down, Calm down.”
Ouroboros stepped in and turned to Tia.
“Tia, didn’t we agree that we would try to talk things out?”
“Hmph. I don’t negotiate with people below me.”
Tia crossed her arms in front of her and said.
“I don’t recall ever losing to you, bitch. So get off your high horse.”

Nidhogg cursed.
“Or did you forget that your husband isn’t here to protect you?”
“I never need Augustus protection in my life.”
“Really? I remember seeing you fleeing from Zeus during the war.”
“Don’t mention that ungrateful brat to me!”
Tia stood up and shouted at Vritra.
“I’ll say whatever I want. I’m a king.”
“King? You’re just Indra’s bitch.”
*Bam!*
Vritra slammed the table and stood up.
“Listen here, granny; I only came here because Ouroboros invited us. Don’t make me slap the scales off you!”
“Bring it on! I’ll drag your body to Hephaestus and have him make some boots out of you!”
“I SAID ENOUGH!!”
Ouroboros roared at the top of lungs which caught everyone off guard. He coughed and adjust his clothes.
“I said we’re here to talk not to throw our egos around. I know that it might be impossible since you’re all cold-blooded beasts but at least try.”
Tia glared at Vritra and others before sitting down. Vritra soon did the same. Seeing everyone seated again, Ouroboros started to talk.
“Alright. I want us to discuss the current situation with our proxies. As you all know, they’re gearing up for war with each other. This is a war so that’s the norm, but I want to discuss an alternative before they go at each other’s throats.”
“An alternative?”
Shenlong asked.
“Yes. Although it would be hard but we can try to convince them to avoid battle.”
“That’s impossible. Klaus wants Miko and Tang’s head.”
Vritra said.
“Zora also wish to clash against them.”
Nidhogg added.
“Rumor is that you two have joined factions. It looks like that is the truth.”
The two didn’t answer Ouroboros question.
“What about Shenlong?”
“Even if Tang was to listen to what I say, I doubt that her child would turn the other cheek.”
“Of course. Dragnas always repays the favor.”
“See?”
Ouroboros nodded.
“Then you all agree that war is unavoidable? But before you hastily make your decisions, I would like you all to really access the situation.”
Ouroboros pointed at Tiamat.
“By making enemies out of her and Miko you are provoking the entire Dragna clan. Even if the clan pales in comparison to the days it was ruled by Augustus, it is still a powerful clan. Defeating them will require unimaginable strength and resources. Do you really want to challenge them?”
“I didn’t fear the clan when the likes of Augustus and his Five Divine Generals were there, so why would I fear it now? Because of Miko? He’s not even a full Satan yet. He can’t compare to the likes of Samael, Devoro, Lilith, and Azrael.”
Shenlong replied.
“Once Klaus sets its mind on something it can’t be changed.”
“Zora intends to test himself.”
Vritra and Nidhogg added.
“Speaking of, Shenlong your Proxy is being targeted from all sides. I’m surprise that you’re not backing down.”
Vritra said. Shenlong was the only one here who didn’t have any allies yet he was relaxed.
“What happens is to up to the heavens. There’s no use fighting it.”
He said with a sly smile. The others could see that he was confident in his Proxy and his faction.
“I see. Then negotiations have failed. Then you guys don’t mind my proxy and I siding with Tia and Miko.”
“Do as you like. You’re all dead anyway.”
Vritra said.
“Because you’ve openly sided with them, the others are planning on not only targeting Miko but everyone around him. That includes your child.”

Shenlong and Nidhogg nodded in agreement.
“Oh? Well, isn’t that interesting.”
The aura around Ouroboros started to change.
“You three don’t know me well, so maybe you’re aren’t aware. I have a certain way of doing things. You see, before engaging in war with someone I try to offer a peaceful solution first. If that doesn’t work then…”
He laughed as he showed his fangs.
“I’ll just tear them to death.”
“There it is, Dark Boros! His true face is coming to surface!”
Tia happily shouted. Since everyone here were gods, they were naturally aware of Ouroboros’ other name and form as a dangerous monster and one of Loki’s three children.
*Bam!*
Tia stepped on the table and pointed at the three dragons before her.
“Well, there you have bitches! The war is on!”
She threw up two middle fingers.
“Go tell your proxies to offer their prayers to whoever they believe in because Miko is going to send them all to hell!”
She laughed arrogantly which was fitting of the woman who picked a fight with the entire world.
“Hahaha! You’re always a riot, Tiamat.”
Shenlong stood up and left. Vritra and Nidhogg also did the same. Once they were gone, Tia smirked at Ouroboros.
“It will be nice working with you, Ouroboros.”
Ouroboros sighed and locked arms with her in a friendly manner.
“Let’s kill them dead.”
*******
Flameheart Residence, Lushun. Miko arrived at the gate and was immediately welcomed in by the guards. When he entered he was greeted by someone he was glad to meet.
“Lisa.”
He met Luka’s mother.
“Miko, how you’ve been? I heard that you were away. It’s good to see you.”
Lisa Flameheart approached with a face filled with smiles.
“How’s your body, Lisa? Have you’ve fully recovered your strength?”
“It’s been quite some time since you helped me. I’m fine.”
“That’s good to hear. I’m actually here for your daughter. Is she around?”
“Luka is training with my grandfather in the clan’s training space. I’ll lead you there.”
Lisa led Miko to a huge building that was located near the back of the residence. When he opened the entrance
and stepped in, he felt like he was being dragged somewhere. With one look around, Miko could tell that he was teleported to a different location. He was now staring at a rocky landscape with a huge gorge in the distance.
“Hello, Miko.”
Miko looked and saw Joesph walking towards him.
“It’s been a while. I see that you’ve grown.”
Joesph scanned Miko with his eyes and nodded.
“Looks like you have a more solid foundation now.”
Miko smiled at Joesph and then continued to look around.
“Over there, huh.”
Miko suddenly leaped into the gorge in front of him without saying a word.
“He’s so eager.”
Joesph said while shaking his head. He then looked back at Lisa who was smiling as she looked in Miko’s direction.
“I’m sure you haven’t forgotten our promise.”
Lisa looked at him and nodded.
“After you’re done with Luka you’ll be training me next.”
Joesph nodded.
“Since you want to avenge your husband you need to get stronger. Your opponent is among the world’s strongest so it won’t be easy.”
Lisa stopped smiling and showed a determined face.
“I know. I don’t intend on burdening Luka with this task either.”
She clenched her fist.
“I’m going to destroy the Zebul Empire with my own hands.”
Meanwhile, Miko was moving through the canyon by bouncing off the sides. With the speed he was going it looked like an azure flash was moving across the canyon. After nearly a minute, he came to a stop and landed on the ground. There he saw Luka sitting on a boulder with a smile on her face.
“You’re back.”
Miko nodded.
“So did you rush to see me the first chance you got?”
“Hahaha…”
Luka frowned a bit despite not being upset.
“I went to meet with those back in Renacido. I had tasked them with locating Dragon Storm for me.”
“Did they find it?”
“Of course. My people aren’t incompetent.”
Miko approached Luka but stopped when he was in a few meters radius.
“Your apostles have gotten stronger, Luka.”
Miko showed a dangerous smile.
“I didn’t notice them at all until now.”
Miko found himself surrounded by all of Luka’s apostles, who seemly approached out of nowhere.
“They were trained in stealth during these six months. If it worked on you then I’m satisfied.”
Miko nodded.
“I didn’t notice them which is why I couldn’t stop my reactions.”
Luka looked puzzled until she saw Robin who was the closest to Miko stagger back while holding his throat. Luka jumped off the boulder, but stopped when Robin lifted his hand to indicate he was fine.
“….You almost broke my neck.”
Robin said while glaring at Miko.
“The fact that your head is still on your body is proof of your growth.”
Miko laughed. He then walked up to Robin and pat his shoulder.
“The current you is strong enough to defeat the me who crushed you all at the Ranking Tournament. Too bad that it won’t be able to defeat the current me.”
“Miko.”
“I was just teasing him.”
Miko removed his have from Robin’s shoulder when he saw that Luka was upset.
“Why can’t you and my apostles get along?”
“I have no problems with anyone other than him. Aya and Kana give me movie and book recommendations from time to time. I’m really interested in Remi since he’s my siblings’ rival, and I even gave Saika a few pointers back at the academy.”
“That is true.”
All the apostles nodded in agreement except Robin.
“Then the problem is me is what you’re saying?”
Miko didn’t reply and looked at Luka.
“Luka, I don’t need to ask but you’re joining me in my battle against Dragon Storm right?”
“You’re right. You didn’t need to ask. My answer is obvious.”
“Then, I want you to leave your apostles behind.”
“What?!”
Miko ignored Robin and waited for Luka’s response.
“I was going to do that anyway.”
“Lulu, you can’t be serious?!”
Robin approached Luka.
“I am.”
Robin was taken aback by the seriousness in her eyes.
“Why?”
“Because you’re too weak.”
Robin turned around and glared at Miko.
“It’s the truth. I have a plan that will ensure that we suffer minimal casualties. If you guys join in with your strength the casualties will skyrocket.”
“Bullshit!”
“You don’t believe me? That’s your problem but I spoke the truth. If you join you will die. Your death will then sadden Luka which will distract her and ultimately lead to her death.”
Miko poked robin’s chest.
“Do you get it? If you join you will be responsible for killing Luka. I would rather kill you all here than let that happen.”
“You two, Calm down.”
Luka came between the two of them and tried to push them away but neither budged.
“Listen, Robin. The reason why I can’t hate you despite your obvious dislike towards me is the fact that you wholeheartedly care for Luka. That’s why I can’t allow you to be the reason for her despair. I know the feeling of watching someone you care about die before your eyes and as well as the feeling of hearing that another one gave up their life for you. I refuse to let Luka experience the same thing.”
“…….”
Robin didn’t say anything but he continued to angrily glare at Miko.
“Heh.”
Miko smirked.
“If you’re still bent on joining then I’ll give you a chance.”
An oppressive aura covered the area. Robin suddenly felt like there was a mountain on top of him. When he looked at Miko he could swear he saw a world of death open up behind him.
“If you can beat me then I’ll let you join.”
“……!”
Robin clenched his teeth and fist. His body trembled, but not from fear but from anger.
“Fine!”
He turned his back to Miko and walked away.
“Wise choice.”
The oppressive aura disappeared.
Luka slapped the back of Miko’s head.
“Why did you have going at it like that?”
“Because he’s stubborn. Everyone else agreed with what I said including him but only him protested. I don’t know if it’s his desire to be of use to you that out weighed the fear for his life, but I had to make him understand. Too much loyalty is toxic.”
Luka sighed.
“Will you two ever get along?”
“Probably not, but that’s what makes it fun.”
Luka rolled her eyes and ignored him and spoke to her apostles.
“As you’ve heard you guys won’t take part in this battle. The opponent is just too powerful and we can’t take any risks. But just think of this as motivation to make yourself a vital part for the next battle. At the end of the day, you all are my friends before you’re my apostles. So I must put your safety above all.”
She beat her chest.
“Don’t worry, I’ll make a name for myself and make you all proud to be my apostles!”
********
Soon after that, Miko left the Flameheart Residence with Luka and returned to Renacido. He was currently meeting with the rest of those who were going to help him during his upcoming battle.
“The time has finally come, men.”
Miko was standing in front of everyone, dressed like a General with a broad behind him. He point at the board with a stick.
“It’s time for us to bring down Dragon Storm.”
“Why the uniform?”
Alec asked.
“To set the mood.”
Miko answered.
“Thanks to the beautiful and talent Layla Song, we discovered where their base is located. With this information and our newly elevated strength, it’s time for the payback.”
“How are we going to do that?”
Hina asked. Miko showed a bone chilling smile.
“We’re going to start a war.”

Sorry for the random tiny chapters. I structured and uploaded this as a series of scenes, some of which just didn't need to be very long. I could probably attach the "sub-scenes" to previous chapters, but that'd only be covering it up, so I'm not sure its worth it. Anyway if you find them annoying, let me know, and I'll put some more thought into it. I did, at least, make a point of always posting at least a thousand words on any given day (after I noticed the problem), which hopefully mitigates the problem.
