《Young Adversary》17th Adversary: Long Awaited Battle

Gangster’s Paradise.
The trio of Miko, Momo, and Tia had begun their campaign of destroying a country size territory and were in the middle of burning the Third town in that territory to the ground.
*Bam!*
As usual, explosions resounded wherever they went. Players were scrambling while getting killed by the tens. The three were really a force of destruction.
While they were destroying everything in front of them, someone was quickly making their way towards them.
“Hm?”
The first to sense it was Tia, who quickly turned around and fired some missiles at the person, no questions asked.
*Bam!*
The middles exploded and turned the area into a sea of fire. However, Tia frowned and quickly jumped back while grabbing onto Miko and Momo.
She instantly heard an explosion and saw a car forcibly sent flying after something crashed into it.
“We have trouble.”
Tia released Miko and Momo and said. They turned around and saw someone walking through the sea of fire, holding a cannon-like gun.
This person was dressed in full brown leather, had their bandana tied around their nose and mouth and wore goggles and a helmet. It was impossible to see their facial features.
“This guy looks strong.”
Momo said.
“Yeah. Look at the gun that he’s holding. That’s a modified Revolver Cannon. It’s powerful enough to shoot aircrafts out of the sky. It’s very hard to get.”
Tia said.
“If anyone would have it, then that would be a pro gamer.”
Momo and Miko’s eyebrows raised when they heard that.
“Then this is……”
Tia nodded.
“There’s a high possibility that this is Ace.”
She said.
“Seriously? He actually came?”
Momo was a bit shocked.
“……..”
Miko looked at Ace with a silent but intense glare. It was as if a predator had spotted its prey.
Meanwhile, Ace-
‘Where is she?! She is damnit?! Where is that beautiful goddess?!’
He shouted in his mind while desperately searching for Tia.
“Hina said she was among them, but I don’t see her. Maybe she isn’t logged in today? Or maybe she’s one of them, but only using a different looking avatar?”
He then started to look at them. His eyes landed on Momo.
‘I recognize her. She’s the Midnight Witch. Her avatar is pretty much identical to hers.”
He then looked at Miko’s.
“This might be hers.”
He then looked at Tia.
“Nope.”
He immediately denied the possibility.
“No matter how strange she is, there’s no way someone that beautiful would want to be a middle age macho man.”
He continued to deny it.
“Then it got to be that one.”
He looked at Miko again.
“Hm?”
He then noticed Miko’s intense glare.
“What a beastly look….”
He muttered.
After realizing he couldn’t tell who was who from their avatar alone, Ace spoke.
“Um, is anyone of you as beautiful as a thousand sunsets over a flower garden?”
He asked.
In response the trio looked at each other and then rose each other’s arms.
“Wha?!”
This naturally came to a shock to Ace.
“Could it be that I mistakenly attack a group of women by mistaken?”
He asked himself.
He wouldn’t expect that although he was male, Miko was far more beautiful than most women. So Momo raising his arm wasn’t wrong.
“Wait, get it together. Hina said that they were searching the entire game for me, this group is the only that has done so. Also, there are the same people I killed some time back.”

Ace immediately calmed himself down.
“So you’re Ace?”
While he was lost in his thoughts, Miko called out to him.
“Hm? Yeah. I heard you guys were looking for me, so I came to see what you wanted.”
Ace answered.
“My name is Miko. I’m from the Dragna Empire.”
Miko said.
“Miko huh?”
‘So that’s him.’
Ace thought.
‘Wait, then doesn’t that mean that Tiamat really is that discount Rambo looking guy?!’
He screamed in his head.
“I see. You’re from the Dragna Empire aren’t you?”
Miko suddenly asked.
“Why you say that?”
Ace asked.
“Body language. Even though I can’t see your face, your body language showed that you reacted when I mentioned my nickname. Only those from the Empire would recognize it.”
He said.
‘Did he reveal his name just to see if I would react or not?’
Ace frowned behind his helmet and bandana.
‘This kid is a bit dangerous.’
He thought to himself.
“Anyway, what I want from you is simple.”
Miko said.
“Fight me.”
“I refuse.”
Ace immediately said.
“I’m a pro, I play purely for money and to boost my rep. I don’t play for fun.”
He said.
“I think you’re lying.”
Momo said.
“While searching for you we checked out your history as a pro gamer.”
“So? That’s available everywhere.”
Ace said.
“True, but we also know what games you play and how long you played them. This is the game you play the most and the longest.”
Momo said.
“So? The tournaments and quests in this game earn me a lot of money. I can also make some extra cash from players who want to hire me to complete jobs for them. It isn’t odd for me to play as much as I did.”
Ace answered.
“True, but this game is only your second highest source of income. Of all the games you play, a game called Reaper’s Quest pays its players the most. In fact, it pays almost double as much as this one. If you prioritize that game above all I’m sure you would make far more money than in this one.”
Momo answered.
“And yet, this is where you spent most of your time. Doesn’t that mean that you especially like this game?”
Ace didn’t answer.
“If that’s the case then it means that you’re still a true gamer. Which means that you should still get excitement from hard challenges, and seek them out.”
She added.
“You should still have your pride as a gamer.”
“….Even if that’s true, how would fighting someone who’s only been play a few weeks be a challenge?”
Ace asked.
“Hm?”
He suddenly saw Miko draw his swords and rushed towards him.
“He’s fast.”
Ace casually pointed his Revolver Cannon at him.
“However, you’re pretty slow for a pro gamer!”
The moment he was going to pull the trigger, Miko threw one of his swords at him, which Ace dodged by moving to the side.
“Didn’t work.”
Miko was now less than a meter from Ace, but Ace’s finger was already on the trigger.
“Goodbye.”
Ace pulled the trigger.
*Click!*
However, all heard was a clicking sound.
“Huh?”
Ace was confused. He couldn’t understand why his cannon didn’t fire. Miko on the other hand already had Ace in his strike zone.
Miko poured power into his step and sped forward and cut through the cannon with his sword. His sword cut right through and was aiming for Ace himself.

“Tsk.”
Ace clicked his tongue and leaped back and pulled two guns from his waist. Miko once again accelerated and chased after him.
‘Why didn’t the cannon fire?’
While he was getting ready to engage Miko, Ace’s brain started working at a lightning speed.
“Hm?”
That’s when he looked at the cannon that was cut in two. He saw that there was something lodged in the side of it.
“A sword?”
He looked at the sword and saw that there was a chain attached to it. He traced where the chain originated from and saw that Miko was holding it.
‘Don’t tell me that when he threw his sword earlier it was a diversion, and used himself attacking me to add to authenticity of that diversion, while he controlled his sword with a chain to damage my weapon?’
Ace quickly figured out what Miko did to prevent him from using his cannon.
‘To do that in such a tense situation requires a lot of skill and balls.’
By this time, Miko once again had Ace in his attack range. He swung his sword at Ace’s neck, which Ace blocked with the spine of his gun. He then pointed his other gun at Miko’s head.
*Bam!*
He fired the shot, but Miko managed to move his head mostly out of the way and got off with only a graze on his temple.
“Such fast reaction speed!”
Ace was once again surprised.
That’s when something came flying at him from behind Miko. It was a piece of the cannon that was cut in two. Miko’s sword was still attached to it, so Miko dragged it with his chain and turned it into a weapon.
*Bam!*
Ace kicked it up in the air, and immediately saw Miko approaching him with his sword. When he stared in his eyes, Miko looked like a beast pouncing on his prey.
“This brat!”
Ace tried to fire at Miko, but Miko was faster. He swung his sword to cleave Ace in two.
*Bam!*
“?!”
However Miko wasn’t able to slash him, and was instead shot in the shoulder. He looked and saw that there was a conceal gun in Ace’s jacket.
He saw that the gun was aimed at his head and immediately moved back.
“Counterattack!”
Ace suddenly shed his jacket and reveal six gun nozzles attached to his sides. He pressed a button on his side and the guns all started firing at once.
Miko started to desperately deflect them with his swords, but their was a limit to how much he could deflect. He was beginning to take damage. If this continues he would die.
Thinking such, he leaped to the side to get out of the way for even a second and pulled some grenades from his pouch attached to his side and threw them.
They exploded before they reached Ace.
“A smokescreen?”
Ace started to look around and then saw that the air flow in the smoke caused by the explosion, was a bit odd.
“There!”
He fired at that direction.
At that moment, Miko suddenly jumped out of the smoke from the opposite direction holding his chain. Ace looked towards him with a sharp gaze. Suddenly a sword that was attached to a chain started flying towards him from his blind spot, which was where he was looking before Miko jumped out.
“You’re incredibly smart and possess impressive battle sense.”
Ace pointed two guns in two different directions. One at Miko and one at the sword flying towards him.
*Bam!* *Bam!*
He fired both guns at once and caused Miko to dodge, while changing the trajectory of the sword.
“But I have more experience than you.”
Ace guns transformed into two grenade launchers.
“Junior, greet your senior!”
*Bam!* *Bam!* *Bam!*
The grenade launchers started firing grenades on rapid, causing Miko to retreat while trying his best to not get blown up.
“Don’t run. Let’s fight!”
Ace said with a laugh.
*Bam!*
At that moment a bullet hit him and caused his helmet to crack open. His face was revealed to be similar to his real one. He was bleeding from a small wound on his forehead.
“Hahahaha!”
Even so, Ace laughed as he remained down grenades on Miko.
“Tsk. I can’t reach him like this. I also lost a sword because I had to release the chain while running.”
Miko grumbled to himself.
“If it continues like this, I’ll lose.”
Miko clenched his sword.
“That’s unacceptable!”
He suddenly stopped and charged towards Ace, and pulled out two guns while holding his sword with his mouth.
He started firing at the grenades that were coming at him, causing them to explode before reaching him.
“Whoa! He’s shooting the ones that are closest to him, while dodging the ones furthest and forcing through the explosions they caused. That’s a desperate but somehow effective tactic.”
Ace praised. At that moment, he was shot in the hand got his finger destroyed. He could no longer hold one of his grenade launchers. With the number of grenades decreasing, Miko had an easier time advancing towards Miko.
“This is so fun!”
Ace shouted and switched to a shotgun, waiting for Miko to enter his range. The moment that happened, Ace would also be in Miko’s range.
“Let’s go, Miko!”
“Ohhh!”
Miko jumped in the air and causing the two to be in each other’s range.
*Bam!*
Ace fired his shotgun and tore one of Miko’s arm and shoulder. Miko now only one gun and a sword.
*Bam!*
Ace fired again, Miko purposely flung his other arm and a leg in the way, and allowed them to be blown off.
He then started to fall towards Ace was getting ready to finish him off.
“Ahhh!”
To Ace’s surprised Miko suddenly became lively with a loud roar which made him delay for a second.
Miko swung his head and the sword in his mouth stabbed into Ace’s neck. However, before it could kill him Ace pulled the trigger and blew a hole through Miko’s torso, thus killing him.
However-
“Guh?!”
Ace’s neck was sliced open. Miko’s may have only stabbed into his neck by an inch, but Miko clenched his sword tightly with his teeth; so when Ace’s last shot blew him back killing him, the sword was blown back with him and slicing though Ace’s arteries.
This would cause a large amount of blood to spray from his neck.
“Shit!”
Ace held the world and looked down on Miko. He saw that his corpse was smiling. That’s when Ace realized something.
“That bastard! He planned this! Everything from the suicidal charge into the grenades to his death! He was planning to take me down with him!”
Ace suddenly collapsed to the ground. He was losing too much blood and this was the game’s way of telling him that he was going to die.
“To die of blood loss….To think that someone could use the realistic gameplay to such an extent.”
Ace muttered. That’s when he saw two pairs and feet stand beside him. He looked up and saw that Momo and Tia were looking down at him.
“Well, well. Looks like a rookie with two weeks experience took you down, Mr. Pro Gamer.”
Tia said.
“You shouldn’t have underestimated Miko. He’s the man we’ve chosen after all.”
Said Momo.
“Hahahaha!”
Ace laughed when he heard those words.
“You’re right. You’re completely right.”
He said.
“But I gotta say, I haven’t had that much fun in a long time. I’m starting to remember what it feels like to be a true gamer again.”
He said.
“Even when you didn’t use all of your weapons? As Pro you must have some catastrophic weapons, but you didn’t use them against Miko. Why?”
Tia asked.
“I might’ve been focusing on money lately, but I still have my pride as a gamer. There’s no way that I’ll using premium weapons when fighting a rookie.”
Ace said.
“I see. Either way, this battle was very beneficial to Miko. I appreciate it.”
Tia pulled out a gun a pointed at Ace.
“Miko killed you, but I’m still upset about that time you killed me. So I’m going to finish you off.”
She said.
“Tell Hina I said hi.”
After she said that Tia emptied a magazine in Ace’s head finishing off. She then lifted her hand in the air.
“I finally got my revenge!”
Her laughter resounded in the area.
