《Young Adversary》10th Adversary: Developing As A Fighter

The Dragna Empire is a very huge Empire with vast lands and numerous countries making it up. The Empire wasn’t always this powerful and vast though. There was once a time where it was a single country with a small population, it even had a different name back then.
What changed it was the arrival of a group of warriors that had no name, but was led by a man known as Augustus Dragna, who later became Tiamat’s husband. He was a very famous and powerful human when the war among the Higher Beings was its most intense.
He fought all of the big names like Zeus, Lucifer, Odin, Typhon and survived; even emerging victorious several times. He was someone who rose to the rank of God with his strength alone.
He took over the small kingdom and made it his base. He and his group of warriors then went to establish a powerful empire in a time when the Gods had their own.
This was how the Dragna Empire came to be.
However, Augustus and his descendants couldn’t maintain the country’s existence alone. They had help, and that help came in the form of his comrades. Augustus had several comrades and they all worked to protect his empire with him, but only two remained even after his passing.
These two went on to create their own clans in the form of the Flamehearts and Saevus Clans. These two clans along with Augustus and Tiamat’s descendants, the Dragna Clan, rule over the vast lands that is the Dragna Empire.
Currently, the highest ranking members of these three clans were all gathered together in one location. The purpose was to hold the annual gathering with the intention of strengthening their bonds. But not everyone had that intention.
There was a growing tension among the three clans since the last few decades, and these meetings usually have lots of conflict involved.
“Hahahaha!”
Despite the tension that should be there, Momo heard a joyful laugh coming from her phone that belonged to the one that should be the most tense.
“Gramps, you seem to be in a good mood. I heard that there was a lot of conflict on your end, is that okay?”
Momo asked.
“Ah, its fine. Just a few scuffles here and there. Nothing to worry about.”
The person answered.
He was the current emperor of the Dragna Empire, Gamiko Dragna aka Nero. Miko who was Gamiko Dragna the Third inherit his name from him.
“But more importantly, its great that grandma chose Miko to be her Proxy.”
Said Nero.
“What was everyone’s reaction over there?”
Momo asked.
“It was complete and utter chaos. It was pretty fun.”
Nero laughed again.
“Sasha got so excited that she shouted at the top of her lungs that her son was the best.”
He said.
“Everyone else had various reactions. Some were happy, sad, angry, surprised, and even indifferent. We almost canceled the meeting to return back home.”
“That wouldn’t be good. This meeting is tradition, it shouldn’t be broken that easily."

“That’s what Alexus said. So we were forced to carry on with this boring meeting.”
Nero sounded a bit upset.
“How long is the meeting this time?”
Momo asked.
“Three months. There’s a lot of things that’s need to discussed, and a lot of information that need to be shared.”
Nero said.
“Or so I have been told, I wasn’t paying attention.”
He laughed again.
Momo smiled wryly when she heard that.
“Oh, Gramps. Krow’s goons are beginning to make some bold moves.”
“Yeah, I figured as much. This is the longest meeting we’re having since Krow started to openly try to seize the throne.”
Nero responded.
“Sasha and Leon wanted to return and protect Miko from them, but Leon is a part of the Saevus Clan’s top brass and Sasha is my daughter, it would be rude for either of them to leave for selfish reasons, while everyone else has to stay.”
He said.
“As such, Miko will be on his own for a while.”
“Why do you sound so pleased?”
Momo asked.
“Because it will give him a chance to grow. I love it when my grandchildren gets stronger. It proves that my genes are superior.”
Nero started laughing again.
“But I think Miko will be fine, he has you and grandma to help him out of anything.”
He said.
“Oh, speaking of which. Where is Miko?”
“You want to talk to him?”
“Nah. I prefer to hear my cute granddaughter’s voice, rather than his.”
Momo sighed when she heard that.
“He’s in the middle of trying to grasp the Dragna techniques he couldn’t in the past. Since he’s been taught them since when he was a kid, I don’t need to teach him.”
“As I expected, he’s now able to use them.”
Nero said.
“Momo, Miko should be able to learn more advance magic techniques now, however don’t rush them. Treat him like a newborn and make him take one step at a time to build a solid foundation.”
Momo nodded.
“Yes, I understand.”
“Good. It’s hurts me but I have to go, Andreas looks like he’s about to fight with one of the Flameheart elders again.”
He said.
“Hey, Andreas! Put down the gun!”
Momo could suddenly hear gunshots in the background.
“Ah~. Well, I tried to stop him.”
Nero said.
“Anyway, I’ll call you later….. No, just leave them. If they die we can just bury them in the back.”
That was the last thing Momo heard along with several explosions. The call ended and Momo put away her phone.
“Sigh. Looks like it’s hell over there.”
She then turned her attention in Miko’s direction.
He was standing in the middle of the plains with his eyes closed. His breathing was calm and he looked unmovable like a statue. He stood there for a while, and then-
“!”
His eyes suddenly opened and an aggressive atmosphere surrounded him. He looked like a beast getting ready to attack. Momo then saw his body being surrounded by a purple aura. This aura was wild and beastly like it had a mind of its own. However, it soon disappeared. Even soon, Momo had a pleased look on her face.

“It wasn’t long, but he successfully activated Dragon Rage.”
She said as she approached him.
“Good job, Miko. You were able to activate Dragon Rage. You weren’t able to do that before.”
She pat him on the shoulder and said.
“Hm?”
However, she soon realized that Miko wasn’t the slightest pleased. In fact, there was a look of frustration on his face. It was as if he had fail big time.
“I was only able to activate it for a few seconds. What is there to celebrate about?”
He looked at Momo with an intense gaze and said.
“Everyone else in the clan can activate it by simply feeling anger, while I have to concentrate hard to activate it for a few seconds? To me, that’s a disgrace.”
He walked away from Momo.
“I’m trying again.”
He closed his eyes and said.
“Wait, Miko. Gramps said you shouldn’t rush it.”
Momo said.
Miko ignored her and continued to concentrate.
“Considering that you couldn’t do it all before, it’s ok if you get excited for being able to use it for even a second, you know?”
Momo said with a sigh.
“Now, now. Leave him be.”
Tia pat Momo’s shoulder and said.
“Him not being satisfied by a small achievement proves that he has the qualities needed to reach the top.”
She said.
“Miko is a very prideful person. He also doesn’t like to lose, so the idea that he can’t do something that everyone else can, is like a knife in chest. So you can understand his frustrations.”
“You really understand Miko, don’t you?”
“Hahahaha! I do have a mental connection with him after all.”
Momo shook her head.
“Even before that, you knew that Miko would choose to become your Proxy. You were even certain.”
“Well, I’ll admit that I have been watching him for a long time. So I think I understand how his mind works.”
Meanwhile, Miko was still in the middle of concentrating. Since Dragon’s Rage uses one’s anger as fuel, he needed to become angry at the drop of a pin. He had already mastered this a long time ago, since there were many things he could use to become angry. There was one problem though.
The Dark and sinister power that dwells within him also responded to anger.
It would always feed on the rage that was supposed to power Dragon’s Rage, and try to break out of Miko’s body and rampage about. This was the reason why he couldn’t use Dragon’s Rage before.
However, after becoming Tia’s Proxy his draconian abilities all strengthened, allowing him to finally bypass the sinister power inside him. Yet, he could only bypass it a little bit.
“……..”
His eyes were closed, he could feel the sinister power swirling inside him trying to break out. While the aura from Dragon’s Rage, was constantly fighting for its life against it.
‘Shit! It’s being devoured again!’
Miko shouted inside his mind.
His frustrations grew along with his anger, powering the sinister power within him.
“Looks like he’s really having a hard time controling his own power.”
Tia said as she observed him.
“There is a way how he can use Dragon’s Rage though.”
She looked at the struggling Miko.
“But will he figure it out?”
‘Shit! Shit! Shit!’
Miko cursed in his mind. He was losing more and more control over the powers dwelling inside him, causing his anger to grow. This continued for a while, and the girls could even see a dark mist emerging from his body.
“His power is starting to break free.”
Momo said.
“Yeah, it looks like his anger towards himself, has reached its limit.”
Tia was right. Miko’s anger was now at the point that it could explode at any minute. Strangely enough, instead of throwing a fit Miko started calm down.
‘I give up. I can’t use Dragon’s Rage like the others.’
He thought.
At that moment, the dark power inside him completely devoured the Dragon’s Rage aura.
“Since that’s the case, lets change it up a bit.”
He spoke out loud.
The power inside him started to change. It wasn’t completely dark as it once was, it had streaks of purple in it that belonged to Dragon’s Rage. The Black mist around Miko was soon replaced by a purple and black aura, that was both sinister and beastly at the same time.
“What’s that?!”
Momo asked in shock.
“That’s Miko’s own version of Dragon’s Rage. He finally figured out that if the two powers that used anger as a source of fuel was competing against each other, then he just needed to fuse them and let them work as one.”
Tia explained.
“Really? That’s insane. Then it can’t be considered Dragon’s Rage anymore. It’s something completely different.”
Momo said.
The aura around Miko started to mold itself into several shapes and sizes.
“The aura from Dragon’s Rage is an universally one. It can form into extra limbs and aid the user in battle, it can provide defense by acting as a shield around them, it can be molded into weapons, and it boosts the user’s overall abilities.”
Tia explains.
“Miko’s version has all these abilities and some even sinister ones that belonged to the dark power that he possessed.”
She smiled.
“With this, Miko has taken his first step towards developing as a warrior.”
She said.
“I can’t wait to see what he becomes.”

The Deathseeker [Under Revision]
NOTE: This story has dark elements, but it's neither grimdark nor particularly edgy. It's also currently being revised. Satan's Axe...Lord of High Honor...The Immortal Giant...The Black Maelstrom...Son of Thunderfield...The Gods' Retribution. Dalric had many names. None were as fitting as his last, Dalric the Deathseeker. Born from an unwanted mating between the greatest warriors of the time, death was his only true kin. It birthed him, molded him, and now standing in the middle of a lifeless battlefield, it drenched him. The blood of thousands of soldiers soaked his skin. Two hundred thousand men approached him that day. All of them sought his life, none of them left with theirs. But they would not die in vain, they had accomplished their mission. Hidden beneath a thousand layers of their blood, was Dalric's very own. Feeling his life fade, he gazed weakly at his work. A seemingly endless array of corpses laid battered and disfigured before him. Some bore faces of horror, most had no face at all. His most trusted companion floated in front of him, blocking the view. Waves of sorrow flowed between them. “My time has finally come. I’ve begged for death and it’s finally arrived. My work is done...and so is yours. You’re free to be who you were meant to.” With his contract with the gods fulfilled, they were truly free. The centuries of torment would end. No longer would they have to walk the path of a monster. Little did Dalric know, the devil was in the details. What To Expect: A good time. In a few more words than that, a cast of believable characters in a unique world dealing with conflicts and problems a little bit more complex than punching the big evil guy in the face. Witch Hunt. A Warhammer Fiction
The adventures of Adebar von Bolstedt continue!Adebar von Bolstedt, fugitive noble scion of the Empire, stuck in the Great Forest of Talabecland, is gravely wounded by the bestial denizens of the dark wintery woods, only surviving due to the timely arrival of aid and relief in the form of the masters of this land. What begins as a pleasant stay with the wild noblemen of Talabecland soon becomes a matter of faith and tradition as old as the Empire itself, when he finds himself trying to root out a coven of witches from a society that prides itself on rural living and knowledge of the mysteries of the wild. This quest will either see von Bolstedt's shaken faith in his own god reforged into an intolerant blade, or shattered like ice. Word from the AuthorGreetings! Witch Hunt plays out in the much beloved Warhammer Fantasy setting (owned, of course, by Games Workshop). Do not fret, however, as I've made it a point to make the story digestible even to the uninitiated, and maybe even be a good introduction to the setting. This is the second part of the adventures of Adebar von Bolstedt, as such I recommend reading part one, titled "The Hand of Sigmar" first. While I cannot claim the places, concepts and gods etc. mentioned within as my own, the story and all characters flowed from my own fingers.
