《Chronicles of Sora: Ruler of Rules》Chapter 39.3 - The flaw of the universe (Part 1)

“Oye! You!” A human skeleton spoke out – quite irritated. “Didn’t you hear our questions? Which floor are you from?”
“Floor?” Sora asked as fixed his head on backwards and began rotating it front ways. He really wasn’t paying attention to what the skeletons were saying because there were plenty of other thoughts swirling in his mind.
“Yes Floor! Which floor are you from?”
“Me?” Sora asked. To the other skeletons it would appear Sora was retarted – and they were losing their cool.
“Yes! You!”
“What about me?” Sora asked bluntly.
The other four skeletons quietly stared at Sora – just who did this skeleton think himself to be? They were hesitant to attack him because of his cocky attitude.
Is he some young captain that they have never heard about?
It would be frightful if they barked up the wrong tree.
Sora was in a blissful state right now. He could not imagine his luck would be this good. This wasn’t just good it was too good!
Sora had always been the adventurer who only pillaged dungeons so it never crossed his mind that he could join the other side.
[This is something I must do in Royal Road] There was a devious light in Sora’s eyes.
Being a monster opened a new realm of possibilities that Sora had never considered; there were things Sora could now do which residents and players could never dream of. Sora’s were giving of a dim red light as he quickly began scheming.
The skeletons which were surrounding him shuddered – they got a feeling the skeleton in front of them was not ordinary. They all assumed that Sora was some big shot which normally never came to the upper levels.
Just as they were about to retreat, Sora looks up at them.

There were four skeletons surrounding him; 2 human, 1 shark-human, and 1 parrot-human.
There other skeletons were scared – was Sora planning to kill them? Monsters lived in a world which never deviated from the law: survival of the strongest. There were no morals or ethics, principles or trust, no friends nor family. Those who were strong ruled with impunity like tyrants and the weak were trodden upon like dirt.
If Sora killed them right now, he wouldn’t be in violation of any crime or at least Sora didn't believe that killing monsters was a crime. If Sora did kill them, it was certain there would be no monsters who would try to oppose him. However, killing small fries may grab unwanted attention and trigger some sort of commotion.
“Where are we?” Sora finally spoke. He asks this question with complete seriousness. Sora reveals not the slightest bit of remorse for causing his seniors trouble.
“5th floor…” the parrot stutters.
“No, I meant where? Are we still inside the worm?” Sora asks feeling slightly irritated. Mental note to self – monsters are pretty dumb.
The brow of the shark human skeleton twitches slightly – he quickly understood the situation - this brat is no captain! He is a complete newbie!
The skeletons begin surrounding Sora and cracking their knuckles.
*Eh?* Sora quickly grasps the situation – Did I offend them?
“You were tricking us.”
“You dare deceive us like that?”
“You think we stupid?”
“Let me rip off his only arm, brother.”
“I’ll make sure I grind him into bonemeal.”
Sora kept taking steps back as the four skeletons took steps closer to him.
“Acting all cocky like that…”
Sora was very much confused. One moment these skeletons are all nice and respectful and then the next moment they are abusing him for no reason.

“Deceive?” Sora asks.
“I’ll make sure you never raise your arrogant voice again!” Roared the shark skeleton as he leaped forth to punch Sora.
Compared to lightening from the slime jelly, the shark skeleton’s punch was much slower.
Sora simply side stepped to dodge.
The shark skeleton went tumbling forward and crashed into the ground.
*That was unexpected*
The Shark Man Skeleton gathered his strength and stood up; he was completely consumed in rage now. He charged at Sora from behind but Sora dodged him with great ease. In fact, Sora made it appear so effortless that he didn’t even turn around to see the attack. The Shark Man threw punches after punches but Sora kept taking steps back to avoid them. Sora’s timing was terrifyingly perfect that it made the Shark Man look like an idiot throwing wild punches.
The other three immediately pause ranting and some of the passer-bys turn to see the cause of the commotion.
“Help me teach him a lesson!” The Shark Man shouted at his comrades – his plea for help startled the other three.
Sora appeared weak…he gave off a weak aura….there was nothing particularly menacing about him, yet the strongest of their group was unable to land a hit on him. Without thinking about it further the remaining three join the attack.
The onlookers couldn’t help but be stunned at the spectacle. One skeleton was dodging the attacks of four others – with so much ease…that it looked like some sort of dance or a circus show. What made it particularly interesting to the onlookers was the way Sora dodged – he was slow yet not a single hit reached him. If it was someone who could move extremely fast the sight would not have been as interesting however Sora’s movements were dull. Yet with those dull movements he was able to dodge. This made the street brawl a were peculiar sight.
Sora’s technique had less to do with one’s own AGI and SPD and more to do with comprehension and logic of the attacker psyche – an advanced battle technique. As Sora lacked high AGI or SPD so the only way for him to dodge was based on his keen senses of perception. This meant that Sora was just quick enough to dodge the attack by a whisker.
As the Sora continued to dance about the four skeletons, the two human skeletons drew out their scimitars. They were clearly frustrated with Sora for making a fool out of them.
*Let’s see how you dodge this*
The attacks of the human skeletons became much sharper and faster. It were as if unleashing their weapons upgraded their attack powers. Sora took notice of the change and dodged accordingly. As long as the gap between their ATK SPD and his AGI was within reasonable range (as defined by Sora), Sora knew the probability of him dodging their attacks was 100%. Compared to the Jelly fish of the 65th Floor who shot bolts of lightning, the attack of these 5th Floor skeletons was a joke.
The four skeletons were emitting a bewildered feeling. Something is not right here. If there was a mistake in the laws of the universe, Sora’s incomparable dodging ability was one of them.

Ocean Attuned - A timeloop LitRPG
In the mids of industrialization, Liana, a girl of almost twelve, awakens her flow and follows her newly awakened calling, the ocean, and thus the path of the last remaining god. With the advent of industry, one's status and the accompanying skills slowly grow to be secondary as people choose more recreational skills and classes. The clear exception are flow bringers. Humans with an increased affinity towards flow and attunements are the only real remnants of the age of gods and mysticism. Terrors on the battlefield, saints in hospitals, saviours during drought, are just some examples of the wonderous abilities they display. As civilization grows less dangerous so does the stress that is often associated with the awakening of the flow reduce and only the real talents remain. Please be aware that this is a first draft at best. Tag/Genre analysis: Action: A theme that will appear in the story at some point (probably 15+ chapters in) Adventure: Yes Fantasy: Yes Magic, Beasts, and other fantastical elements are totally at home here. Tragedy: Life is not always fun. For what is fun when there are no downsides. I don't know how heavily I am going to lean into this genre. I want to but don't expect too much. Loop: Yes, though I will not divulge anything else. Just be aware that there isn't nearly as much looping as in MoL for example. Female Lead: Yes, Liana is female. Dungeon: Yes, there are dungeons. Yes, they will get explored. LitRPG: Yes, read the first chapter if you want an example. Magic: most definitely because who doesn't like calling lighting down from the heavens. (Disclaimer: No actual lightning will be called down from the heavens) Mythos: There are gods. So maybe, I don't know if that is enough to qualify? Progression: yes Slice of Life: There is plot, and the story will mostly be about that plot, but there will also be downtime because there can't always be action. The first "loop" especially the first 20-30 chapters will be heavily SoL. And afterward there will be a lot less. Profanity: The ocean (see title) includes sailors and we all know how the stereotypical sailor is. Gore: Hmmm, some but I will have it be not graphic at all.

Mark of the Lash
Born from a precarious relationship between a Drow and his prize, Serena Lash struggles to find her place, and herself, as she fights to persevere through the hardships life throws her way. A story born from a D&D game I am currently a part of. The narrative will follow the events of the campaign as closely as possible, with some events having been tweaked to better fit into a written story. A slow burn, the narrative does skip around a bit due to the nature of the campaign, considering that not everything in the game needs to be written about. This will begin to peter out the further the story progresses, but for the first parts, expect a bit of skipping!
