Day 96
The sun was yet to rise but everyone was already ready.
The Abbe drew a hexagon today. I wonder, if these shapes have any meaning to them at all…
I stepped into the ring but Maylon seemed to be hesitant, she whispered something to the Abbe, who then went and rubbed the shape he had drawn.
“Aren’t we going to battle today?” I ask as I am getting impatient.
“Yes…give me a moment..” the Abbe replied.
He quickly drew a large octagon.
“Does this even mean anything?” I ask.
“Think of it as a power limiter, while we are not permitted to kill you, we can spar with you reducing our power…this is a spell that I have constructed to keep Maylon’s powers restricted so that she does not injure you…”
“You!...” I was pissed angry.
I think Maylon defeated me last time when it was a triangle…
“Are you adding restrictions when you change the shape? Or reducing them?” I am literally shouting out in anger.
“…Right now..” The Abbe looked somewhat guilty for manipulating me. “I am adding more restrictions on her…the basic rule is; the closer it is to the shape of a circle the more restrictions are imposed on the Guardian…”
So that would mean…Maylon was fighting me at fewer restrictions and now she is fighting me with more….they are underestimating me…this is getting me very angry…now that I think about it the day I defeated Gustav we fought in a circle…which would mean that his powers were like 99% sealed…In fact I don’t remember having ever won against him when the rings shape was a square…
I am anger has reached boiling point and I am a slight bit away from exploding.
“Remove the restraints.” I order them.

The Abbe looked up at me as if he was asking what’s wrong.
“You are seriously underestimating me, if you think that by restricting your powers you are evening out your powers…”
“But..”
“DO AS I SAY!” I am very angry. My pride has been hurt. I am not all that weak, I just haven’t been sparring them seriously.
The Abbe rubbed of all lines and then whispered “Dispel”.
I assume my fighting stance.
Targets acquired: 3
I haven’t used my monster senses even once while fighting with them. I brought out my dwarf hand there were claws protruding from its finger tips.
The Abbe could see I was serious.
A mini radar opened up in my vision line. I could see three dots; two in front represented Maylon and the Abbe, the one behind was Gustav.
I plan on defeating at least two out of three Guardians.
The Abbe claps his hand.
I was off, I dashed towards Gustav. Both Maylon and Gustav were caught unawares by my movements. Maylon didn’t expect me to run away from her and Gustav didn’t think I would come towards him.
I know this might sound like cheating, but this is me defeating them.
My radar showed me that Maylon was chasing behind me.
Heh. I turn an eye of mine the other way to keep track of her. She is slower than me in the sand since I can make leg designs optimized for running on sand.
In the blink of an eye, I kick Gustav who was completely defenseless and then turn around to do a roundabout house kick at Maylon who had just managed catching up to me. *Sorry Maylon, but right now I am not in the mood to feel you up*
I jumped back down and changed my slime arm into a blade and dashed towards the Abbe.

The Abbe was frowning.
I don’t think anyone expected me to act so violently. Am I being irrational?
Maybe I am.
Maybe I am going crazy that I have been locked up in a game for so long.
Maybe I am going crazy that I have been wandering a desert for 96 days.
Either ways, I am just so frustrated and angry right now, that I can just kill someone.
Incoming Projectile!
I quickly duck.
Maylon just threw Gustav’s dagger.
I clash with the Abbe, the Abbe it seems to have caught the dagger.
I am not sure if she had planned that but the Abbe had a weapon now.
We are engaged in a deadly duel…well deadly to the extent this one isn’t going to end with the Abbe simply saying match over but with some degree of injury…
The Abbe matched every blow I parried. He was simply too skillful.
No matter how I tried (and I am acquainted with the blade), the Abbe managed to meet me head on.
I am not sure whether he did this intentionally, but it felt like he wanted me to let go of my anger little by little…
Why was I angry again?
I am not sure…
Was it the pride of mine that had taken a beating?
Was it my frustrations of not being able to touch Maylon?
I don’t know, right now…there is the Abbe in front of me and he looks so delicious.
I am not sure what happened, but either I sped up or the Abbe slowed down.
My vision also changed over from normal view into heat vision.
I could see the Abbe’s tiny heart beating away.
Blood.
That is all I wanted.
I wanted blood.
At some point, the craving for the Abbe’s blood grew stronger and stronger in me.
Yes, I think I wanted to chop him into little bits….that kind of blood thirst.
Yes…chop him…and maybe….eat him a little…
The Abbe was on the back foot now. He was retreating and I was advancing.
Our blades clashed more often and with greater ferocity.
Maylon and Gustav raced to the Abbe’s side.
I am not sure what they were thinking of me right now, but I am only interested in the strong.
I want to eat!
Everything went black after that.
I am not sure what happened but when I woke up, I found the Abbe sitting next to me. There was a lot of blood everywhere…
The Abbe was missing an arm.

The Infinite Labyrinth
(Story complete - Book 1 "Shanghaied", 2 "Shortcuts", 3 "Secrets" and 4 "Sanctions") It is the 19th century, and war smoulders between England and France. Any hope for a quick end to Napoleon's rampage across Europe ended when the Great Gates opened in 1800. For a fortunate few, the strange world of the Infinite Labyrinth offers opportunities, strange descriptors popping in their minds, informing them of growth, and status beyond that of a mere mortal. The materials and power crystal they bring back foster a new age, both military and civilian. Aether-powered Skyships prowl the skies, as all the great nations blessed by the Gates try to turn the blessings of the Labyrinth into immediate advantages. But for Jonas, an apprentice leatherworker, his friend Ira, and so many Londoners, the fabled ones that walk the Labyrinth are distant heroes, seen from afar. They fell short when their Potential was measured, and they fill their mundane lives with distant dreams. One man wants to break the stalemate. The Tyrant of the Dominion of France, Napoleon Bonaparte, has a plan. Eighteen years after the world changed, he will force it to change again. And when civilians are caught in the fallout, the unthinkable happens. Six people, unqualified, forbidden to ever enter the Labyrinth, find themselves stranded in a distant zone, forcefully turned into Professionals. They know little of what that means, but they have to figure out the rules that are now their lot, for they have little hope to escape their predicament otherwise. They need to understand what the descriptors in their minds mean, what each of the strange piece of gear waiting in treasure chests behind terrible guardians can bring them. They have to become Professionals on their own and rejoin the Empire. They will figure out their new lives one way or another. But will there be an Empire waiting for them when the Gates re-open? Caught in a clash of empires and high tiers, they will do what little they can. They will step up and do their best. One way or another. The Infinite Labyrinth is a slice-of-life litRPG adventure set in a real historical setting. It's a hard, crunchy litrpg. Expect blue boxes everywhere, and the system itself is very mathy. It started life as a serial. I prepared some proper worldbuilding, with enough details and background for lots of different potential story arcs, but as I wrote, I realized the main story needs to have a definitive end. So, there are four books in total, for a bit under 1500 pages, plus additional side stories, and even maybe a sequel one day. The Gore tag was added as a precaution because there are a few scenes with some light gore.

Along for the Ride
Every child born on the continent of West Cartia is taught about the Great Goblin War but what the annals of history fail to mention is that the entirety of the conflict could be traced back to a group of four friends who stumbled into the currents of fate in search of a fantasy novel. This is the story of how a band of bookworms realized that when destiny pulled hard enough, struggling was futile; it was best to relax and go along for the ride. "A breezy, good time with all the trappings of high fantasy fun." - someone eventually (hopefully)
