《Chronicles of Sora: Ruler of Rules》Chapter 9.2 - Intense Training

An explanation is in order.
“An explanation is in due order.” I told the Abbe as I finished piecing myself.
The Abbe only smiled.
“I mean this is Maylon, we are talking about? How on earth could she defeat me?”
“..”
“She’s the coward…”
“…”
“The one who always screams!!”
“…”
“She just owned me!”
“Sora-sama, I think you are underestimating your Guardian’s if you didn’t think we would be capable of this much. Maylon is also my grand-daughter, so it should not be surprising if she is at least this capable….the poor girl doesn’t have a violent bone in her body…but I did tell her it would be okay just this once if she goes all out against you….”
“And was she going all out?” I ask impatiently. I know he is taunting me here.
“No. She held back because she finds you repulsive…she doesn’t like touching you…”
I don’t think I heard the holding back part, the only thing I do remember hearing was repulsive…I am repulsive….she finds me repulsive….NOOOooooOOooooOOOooo!!!!
XXXXXXXXX
After my defeat, I spoke with the Abbe and he agreed to suspend my sparring sessions.
I am a competitive sort of person and I hate being defeated. This is the first time, I feel so humiliated. Many firsts in this game….none of which I wanted…
Right now, I am in my hole. The defeat stings. It’s the kind of pain that forces me to grow. No. I want to grow and become stronger…
I punched the wall of my closure…repeatedly….not even a scratch. I lack strength. I kept punching the wall…I am angry at myself…I am not sure how long I continue to do that for…but I only stopped when I saw the message:
Strength increased by 1 point. (+1 STR)

I would have cried seeing such a message but I have no tear ducts…
Heck, I began punching the wall, once, twice, thrice. My slimy hands were gradually getting accustomed to the toughness of the walls and the sense of punching.
I punched the wall for endless hours at a stretch. Even though it was so hot, I did not stop. The curtain rat fur robes were soaked in my sweat. I threw them off since I needed to maintain the water balance. If my clothes began competing for my water, I might be in trouble. I assumed a fighting stance as I had been taught and began to deal one blow after another without a second’s break.
Strength increased by 1 point. (+1 STR)
I am not sure how much time had gone by but I felt I was making progress. I checked outside and it was already late evening. I felt as if my slime muscles had become stronger. By late evening, I saw more messages:
Stamina increased by 1 point. (+1 STAM)
Strength increased by 1 point. (+1 STR)
Agility increased by 1 point. (+1 AGI)
I put on my garb and left hunting. Something that I realized in the last few hours was that unless I work really hard…there is no way in raising my stats.…I stopped in my tracks…why didn’t this happen before? I have been hunting, running, sparring….but this is the first time my base stats are increasing… I wonder…I instantly dissolve my muscles to turn back into a blob…
Strength decreased by -3 points. (- 3 STR)
Agility decreased by -1 point. (-1 AGI)
Ah…it seems I needed muscles for those stats…without muscles there is no strength or speed…
I recreate the muscles and thankfully, I gain back my stats.
Interesting
… that night I caught two rats before catching up with the others…

The next day, I followed the same regime. Punch punch punch. Unlike a human, my entire slime body grew stronger as I punched. I am still in awe of my own body, there is much I need to learn about it.
That day, I went all out in attacking my wall and only stopped when I gained the following:
Stamina increased by 1 point. (+1 STAM)
Strength increased by 1 point. (+1 STR)
Blood Thirst increased by 1 point. (+1 FSP)
***
It has been three months in this game, I have gotten over my heartache and trained myself night and day to fight Maylon.
I spent the last ten days, only focusing on stretching and durability. I am not sure what Maylon did but I don’t think it was an ordinary punch. Had I been a real human that kind of punch may have ruptured through me…
I spent even more time on stitching and layering. I have been able to reduce the layers to finger level thin and the compactness stands at nearly four times more than when I started. To put it into perspective, if I used to way 30 Kgs before (which I did with a slime body), I now weigh 120 Kgs. That is how much more slime I have added on to me. The extra weight does mean that I have slowed down but it isn’t to the extent that I need to be worried. Since I have been working on stitching I have been able to create slime muscle fibre which can take on the additional burden.
I have barely slept since my defeat, always practicing and practicing.
In all twenty days were spent in making my slime body more human like.
Memory Blob – level 45
Enhanced Memory Blob – level 27
Slime Elasticity - 98
Slime Durability – 99
Slime Conversion – 4 litre / hour
Layering – 86
Compactness - 190
Stitching - 45
Fusion - 225
STR: +15
STAM: +20
AGI: +15
VIT: +15
END: +10
Memory blob and enhanced memory, are greatly assisting me in creating shapes and structures for my body. I am able to get into finer details like ears or muscles.
Elasticity and Durability, have nearly doubled since my fight with Maylon. I think these are more human levels.
Layering and Compactness also reached good levels…I think, I have been focusing on using layering on my joints and as defensive muscle to take on blows. I am focusing on stitching to create utility muscles…like my calf muscles and biceps etc.
One of the interesting things that I learnt about this body was that I can increase my base stats based on the muscles I create. Lets say my base stats were 5STR and 5AGI, then by making muscles, these increase to 10 STR and 10AGI. The more complex and detailed muscles I make for myself, the greater the difference I can see…for example if I try to make an athletic type muscles, I reach something like 15 STR etc. Of course, my muscle creating skills are far from perfect and compared to a human I am probably still weaker but when I think from what I started with it…I feel it is a great improvement.
The undead skeleton has now become too small for my body size (it is about 6 six feet and I am 7 feet now..) So I am keeping it only as a structural reference…
After practicing a few more blows, I sleep. Tomorrow, I am going to crush Maylon….or maybe just touch her inappropriately in *places*
