《Sometime in Autumn: A Fallen Noble’s Journey to Immortality》92 Progress

“It takes a brilliant mind to build a house with a strong foundation.”
Immediately, Steward Fatty went to work.
What he did first was to acquire 2 more properties in the Rising Sun City in order to generate more Spirit Stones flow—and consequently revamped their management.
Steward Fatty actually bought an inn and an auction house.
His first step was to split the mission board up from the Teahouse as he thought it better that the teahouse and inn should be joined together which he later named ‘Precious Herb Pavilion.’
Also, he merged the shop and auction house together which was also renamed into ‘Hundred Treasures House.’
Lastly, the mission board became a single unique establishment which was called ‘Cultivator’s Guild’ as per Qai’s suggestion.
All in all, the Saints Hall had 3 different establishments accommodating to the varying needs of cultivators—and were now separately managed by the Fang, Yang, and Lin clans.
And to avoid insecurities among the 3 clans, Steward Fatty saw it fit that all the income of the 3 establishments should be centralized and that each clan shall receive equal remunerations from the Saints Hall.
In support of the idea, Qai then abolished the position of the outer official from the Fang clan and officially made the 3 patriarchs of the said clans as honorary elders of the Saints Hall.
It actually took more than a month to finish all the reconstructions which result in the properties becoming impressive establishments.
These changes definitely did not go unnoticed.
Many people in the city witnessed the unstoppable development and made their own different speculations.
Most of them already considered Saints Hall as the number 1 force in that area of the continent.
Since the Saints Hall now possessed 4 properties, Steward Fatty deemed it necessary to convert one of them as their main headquarters in the city.
Steward Fatty did not look elsewhere to hire more people to work for the much-improved establishments. Instead, as suggested by Qai, he put the people of the 3 clans.
It was actually a strategy that would make the 3 clans work together much cohesively and that, at the same time, it would make them feel even more indebted to the Saints Hall which should be the root of their loyalty to him.

Meanwhile, in the mountain peak, Steward Fatty only added a few other things—but most were for aesthetic purposes like trees and shrubs to surround the structures.
Of course, those were not ordinary trees, but trees that could potentially enhance the presence of spiritual Qi energy, even just a tiny bit.
Thankfully, Qai’s giant Ant Workers were there to uproot the trees from who knew where they originally were.
Also, he told Qai to study further about Array formations that would help converge the spiritual Qi energy of the immediate surroundings right into the mountain peak.
And Steward Fatty Liu was not stingy enough to lend some of his own Jade slips about Array formations which Qai gladly took.
Qai felt overwhelmed at how Steward Fatty did all the overhauling in his Saints Hall which obviously turned the mountain peak better than ever.
And while all of these were happening, Qai concentrated on training his Blood Knights and squire-servants who had all been advancing by leaps and bounds due to Qai’s harsh and brutal physical training.
Also, the 3 young cultivators that Steward Fatty brought together with the Yang and Lin clan’s pair of descendants had also been seriously cultivating in the mountain peak.
Apparently, they had been maximizing the medicinal pill resources that the Saints Hall had afforded them.
Of course, they didn't receive them for free—Steward Fatty had in fact given them responsibilities in the mountain peak which included the rearing of Blood Horses as well as taking care of the fields of grains and garden plots of precious herbs.
And like the 3 Fang clan disciples, they also took the opportunity to learn Pill alchemy and Talisman or Tool refinement from the Foundation Establishment stage seniors of the Saints Hall.
The days, weeks, and months went on smoothly and without any trouble for the Saints Hall.
In fact Qai even felt that life in the cultivation world had never been that easy.
But that was given since he decided to establish his own foothold in a backwater area of the continent where his own strength could be considered at the top of the food chain.

Soon the Fang disciples returned to the mountain peak and they were surprised to see all the development in just a matter of 2 years.
They were soon introduced to the new members of the Saints Hall.
However, even the 3 of them had brought a surprise of their own.
Unexpectedly, Fang Zhao returned with an aura in the great circle of the Qi Condensation stage—which not even Qai achieved when he was of the same age.
The young Fang genius was only 17 years of age.
While it was not really of an unprecedented accomplishment since many of the inner disciples of big sects reached the same cultivation base at an even earlier age, it was nevertheless unheard of among the cultivators in this part of the continent.
Of course, the happiest of all was the Fang clan Patriarch.
In fact, in his delight, he did not hesitate to immediately hand over his clan’s most treasured piece of Foundation Establishment Pill which he kept for decades.
Immediately, Qai gathered the 3 Fang disciples together with the Yang and Lin disciples.
In total there were 7 young cultivators who became the official disciples of the Saints Hall.
Obviously, the 3 cultivators that Steward Fatty brought were virtually Precious Tree Sect disciples so they weren't official members of the Saints Hall.
During the meeting, Qai looked at all of them meaningfully.
“All 7 of you will be the backbone of this Saints Hall. In the future, I want all of you to soar high and spread our name. So from this day forth, I will already personally call you the ‘7 Saints’ of this mountain peak.”
Thereafter, he opened the ‘Transformation Stone Lake’ for them—which now included the 3 Precious Tree Sect disciples—and allowed them to stay for 3 months.
Also, during this time, there were already signs that among the Blood Knights and squire-servants, few of them were already reaching the Gold rank—a development that was much earlier than Qai projected.
Once a Blood Knight attained such heights, Qai would immediately teach him or her the ‘Purple Blood Cultivation’ technique.
It was his way for the others to double their efforts since he believed that the children would be pushed by jealousy once they saw one of them stepping into becoming a cultivator.
The best part of the technique was that it didn't require too many medicinal pills because it was precisely a sinister technique—as it mainly uses one’s blood augmented by spiritual Qi energy to attain a breakthrough.
And that was why the speed of its progress was scaringly fast.
But then again the limit of the technique was that it denied its user to form his or her core—and therefore denied him or to achieve the Core Formation stage—and that every time the ’Bloodlust’ ability was used, it would burn the cultivator’s life force.
There was a lot to sacrifice in it. After all, there was really no perfect cultivation technique.
In Qai’s estimation, in the next couple of months, he would see a few of the Blood Knights already in the Qi Condensation stage.
As for the squire-knights, unfortunately becoming Gold rank Knights would be their limit. Whether they would be able to form their intent and make a further breakthrough would be up to their individual’s fate and effort.
However, he knew that the physical strength of Gold rank Knights was capable of defeating level 1 or 2 Spirit Beasts so it was already a great fortune for them as mortals to attain such heights.
In name, they were squire-servants but in truth their purpose was to be the patrol guards of the Saints Hall.
But as to the Blood Knights, they were Qai’s personal army.
‘I can't wait to see the Blood Knights ride on the Blood Horses and charge in a battle in a line formation.’

Outlook: The Stars (Consciousness Unbound Book 1)
The year is 2152. Rune Yahui is a nineteen-year-old failure, not having gained entrance to college or the military, with no significant prospects in life. Even worse, Rune is the poorest of the poor, hailing from the mega-slums of New Southern Chicago, the lowest pit of America. In a desperate last-ditch attempt to gain a future more lustrous than toiling the rest of his days away in abhorrent conditions in one of the near sweat-shop level factories that dot the megapolis, Rune signs up for the Virtual Citizen program, a program to cull the excessive world population by transferring just their brains into a video game. In a stroke of rare luck, Rune is admitted into the program and happily submits himself to the surgery and digitization process. Unfortunately for him, he wakes up several hundred years later than he expected... or does he? **Author's Note** This isn't a type of story typical to RRL. You may have noticed LitRPG in the tags, but it's a relatively minor element in the story until later. You may also notice Slice of Life is in the tags. This story is going to be slow and there won't be any power tripping until way later if at all. The focus will be on character development. That doesn't mean I won't still have action/excitement, however. I encourage you to give the story a try. Maybe it will be your thing, maybe it won't. Thanks for even taking the time to read this, and if you do give my fiction a try, I hope you enjoy it. If you don't, well, I hope you find something that you do enjoy. Happy reading!
