《Young Master Has a Daughter》Chapter 262

The world was illuminated once again with a bright, golden light as every cultivator in the Thousand Mountain Valley fell down on the ground when a shockwave of Divine Energy came busting out from the child on top of the World Turtle. Even the boy staggered a few steps backward as he looked at the child in disbelief.
Now, standing on top of the World Turtle was a child with a pair of black and white wings with a glowing golden halo floating on top of his head. There was also a pair of black horns that encircled his head which strangely resembled that of a crown. The child was releasing an oppressive feeling to everyone in the place unintentionally tapping into the primal fear within each and every single one of them.
The surviving cultivators in the Thousand Mountain Valley looked at the figure on top of the World Turtle. They didn't know who he was but they felt that the immortal was far, far tiny in comparison to him even if the figure was a lot smaller than the Immortal Willow Tree physically speaking.
"A Nephilim," the boy said gravely after seeing the child's form.
"Nephilim?"
Yun Ling turned to the boy in curiosity whereas the woman just gasped after hearing the boy's words. Yun Ling then shifted his attention to the woman who seemed to have some idea what the boy was saying.
"What's a Nephilim?" he asked.
"A Nephilim"—the boy started speaking, gaining Yun Ling's attention—"is a result of a union between two of the strongest races in the Ethereal Realm, the Daemons, and the Seraphims."
Yun Ling didn't understand much from the boy's explanation. He wanted him to elaborate more. What were the Daemons? What were the Seraphims? What exactly was a Nephilim? He had a small knowledge regarding the first two but this was the first time he had heard of a Nephilim.

The Daemons and the Seraphims were said to be the strongest races in the whole universe not including the Ancient Gods and the Primordial Gods. The Daemons could be identified by a pair of black wings on their backs, and horns on their head; while the Seraphims had a pair of white wings on their backs, and a halo of varying colors floating on top of their head. Each of the two races possessed powers unique only to their races.
That was everything that Yun Ling knew about them.
"It can't be... a Nephilim..." the woman muttered with a shaky breath.
"What do you know about them?" Yun Ling asked.
The woman's lips quivered a bit before saying, "I have only heard of some legends. There aren't many people that know of this legend even in the Ethereal Realm. The Nephilims are said to be creatures that go against the rules of nature. Just their mere existence alone is something that already defies nature. A union between a Seraphim and a Daemon would normally result in either a Seraphim or a Daemon but in the rarest cases, a child would be born with the trait and unique power of the two races. The moment they are born, they could already rival gods!"
Yun Ling's looked at her in shock.
The woman gave him a deep look and said, "However, the likelihood of a Nephilim being born between a Seraphim and a Daemon is extremely small. In fact, Divine Beings like you are far more common than Nephilims. In the past millions of years, there were no known Nephilims being born in the universe."
"Maybe there's one but you just didn't know?"
Although that was possible, that was highly unlikely.
With how strong Nephilims were, it would be impossible for them not to attract any attention and be hidden for entire millions of years. They were creatures said to be on par with the Ancient Gods, and in some rarest of rare cases, even Primordial Gods. These beings would usually unintentionally find themselves in the spotlight with just the slightest show of strength.

Yun Ling looked at the child carefully. With his Divine Eyes, he could see far better than everyone. He ignored the girl as he focused his attention on the Nephilim. He, however, found out that he couldn't see the child's face. It was covered by a bright light, blocking the child's face from his view. He forced himself to look but seconds later, his eyes hurt and started bleeding.
The boy saw what he was doing and immediately told him, "Stop. Don't look at him. You're not strong enough to look directly at a god."
Yun Ling looked at him, confused. Not strong enough to look at a god? He had been in the presence of a god the whole time before those asteroids came down and yet he was perfectly fine looking at him.
"But the god who was with me before..."
"The God of Shadows... he might be a god but his strength had gone down considerably after sealing himself for a long time. If he was at full strength, you also wouldn't have been able to see his face," the boy explained.
While Yun Ling and the boy were speaking, the child slowly floated to the air as he met the ancient god's descending hand.
"About that... why did he and the other gods seal themselves in this world?"
The boy had an emotionless look on his face as he answered, "Because they are hiding. Hiding from someone very powerful. Hiding from a race that can erase an era... the Nephilims."
The world suddenly turned white for a few seconds, blinding Yun Ling and even the boy that he had been speaking to. When the white light subsided, they heard a loud crashing sound in the distance while the ground shook violently.
Every single person in the Thousand Mountain Valley had a look of disbelief on their face.
The Ancient God's hand had been lopped off!

Big fantasy worlds. Multiple cultures, lots of characters, many different types of magic--this story is expansive rather than closely focused on a narrow storyline. Fragments from the Wildlands
“Your first death is always the hardest.” Miguela was the third-born child of a well-off merchant family and knew from around the time she could speak that her life’s path was already decided. She was to become an Orator, as was Xandran tradition. However, Miguela had an affinity with the magikal arts and somehow found herself studying at the Academy. She did just enough to keep up with her studies but never found the motivation to apply herself and “reach her potential,” as her instructors often said. It was not that Miguela was uninterested in the arts. Rather, she knew her time at the Academy ultimately did not matter. Whenever Miguela returned home, she would become an Orator, and that would be that. Or so she believed until, one day, an opportunity appeared that would change her life. Miguela was offered the chance to join a research team tasked with a mission of the utmost importance to the future of the Five Kingdoms. She could not turn down the prospect of regaining control of her life and finally finding a purpose for herself. Of course, Miguela might soon discover that offers that appear too good to be true are usually fraught with lies. Welcome to Five Kingdoms of Cordizal! Question: What is the Five Kingdoms of Cordizal? I often get asked this type of question about my stories by friends, bloggers, and potential readers. The Five Kingdoms of Cordizal is a high-fantasy epic universe that is the setting for most of my stories. The foundation of the universe is its multicultural, multiracial setting with several sentient races attempting to carve their legacy and survive. The world is fully fleshed out and vibrant with a rich and mysterious history not based on Tolkien mythology. This brings me to magic. To me, magic is an essential part of the fantasy genre, so, of course, there is magic in the Five Kingdoms universe. However, one critical part of the Five Kingdoms universe is that magic is an abundant commodity that is a part of everyday life and not some plot device used to drive the story. In short, the Five Kingdoms universe is the setting of epic fantasy stories with deep characters and world-building. I try to tell as many different types of stories as possible in the universe, and hopefully, you can find something for you in it.
