《Young Master Has a Daughter》Chapter 229 - Teacher of All

Of all things that came to Yun Ling's mind about the god that they were going to wake up, this wasn't certainly one of them.
He had thought that a god would be sleeping in some luxurious bed... or perhaps, coffin, as strange as that was. However, never did he think that he would see a god bounded in chains like a prisoner who had committed a grievous sin. That kind of thing should've been humiliating for someone of his stature. What was even more humiliating was the position he was currently in.
He was in an "X" position and was naked. Everything about him could be seen and there was no shred of dignity about him in his current display.
While looking at the god, bounded in chains, he finally asked the question he had been meaning to ask since earlier.
"Why is he suppressed like this? Who did this to him? Could it be a god?"
That must be so. No one could've suppressed a god in this way unless it was done by another god.
The boy looked at Yun Ling.
"You can say that a god did this to him," he said as he inspected the room.
"And we are going to awaken him? Is that a good idea?" Yun Ling asked.
The fact that this god had been chained down should be a clue already that this wasn't a god to be taken lightly about. Perhaps, this god was a criminal who had committed many sins, that was why he was in that state.
"You don't need to worry," the boy reassured him with a smile. "This god isn't what you think he is."
Yun Ling furrowed his brows but conceded. It wasn't like he could oppose him. The boy was most likely a god too, after all. If things went south, the boy was still with them and could fight the suppressed god on even grounds.

"Hold this," the boy said as he handed a khakkhara staff to Yun Ling. It was a staff that was topped with several metal rings.
Yun Ling had seen quite a few monks with staffs like that before. However, the one in the boy's hand was different from everybody else. Unlike the staffs in those monks' hands, his was radiating with divine energy that was totally not unlike that of his Divine Eyes.
He received the staff with his right hand.
"When I tell you to ring the staff, ring the staff, understood?" the boy instructed.
Yun Ling nodded, keeping his words in mind. He was wondering what the staff was going to be used for but he didn't ask since he felt he would know about it later.
"What about me?" Snow Fang asked.
"Just sit down and guard in case there are any invaders," the boy said.
Right after giving instructions to Yun Ling and Snow Fang, the boy took a large brush out of nowhere and started painting the ground and the walls white.
Nothing happened for the next few minutes or so but when six minutes had passed...
Yun Ling and Snow Fang felt themselves getting lightheaded as they heard a loud thump at the center of the room. The thump was similar to the sound of a heart that was beating.
The two couldn't help but be nervous at that. That was just a mere heartbeat yet they were already getting lightheaded. Gods truly were different from mortals. Although they were cultivators and not mortals, they might as well be one in front of a god.
"Ring the staff once," the boy said while painting.
Yun Ling did what he was told and shook the staff once. When he did so, the god's heartbeat was no longer making them lightheaded. They could still hear his loud heartbeat while feeling their heart beating together with the beat of the god's heart.

"Ring the staff three times."
CLANG CLANG CLANG
The boy finally finished painting the ground white and was now continuing his work on the walls he already put some paint on.
Suddenly, dark mist emerged from the god's body and separated into three entities as each went straight to Yun Ling, Snow Fang, and the boy.
"Ring the staff nine times."
CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG
Yun Ling immediately did what he was told and shook the staff nine times. A bright, golden light came out from the staff and met the dark mists.
Light and dark fought for a few seconds before the two forces disappeared into nothingness.
Yun Ling narrowed his eyes as he looked at the staff. The energy that came out from the staff was familiar to him. He had a feeling he knew who it belonged to but he might be mistaken.
"Don't be distracted. Ring the staff two times."
Yun Ling shook those thoughts out of his mind as he did what the boy told him to.
At this moment, the boy finally finished painting both the ground and the wall with white color. The tip of his brush turned into a black color as he wrote something on the wall.
Afterward, he put down his brush as he chanted something.
The words that the boy had written glowed with a golden light as the god bounded in chains in the middle of the room suddenly twitched.
.
.
.
.
.
A huge amount of dark mists suddenly exploded from the god's body as it flooded the room entirely.
Yun Ling and Snow Fang were alarmed as the two immediately put their guard up. They knew that their actions might be futile in front of a god, even so, they didn't want to go down without a fight.
"Ring the staff twelve times," the boy said calmly.
Yun Ling heard what the boy said and quickly rang the staff twelve times.
"Seal."
When the boy said that word, the word that he had written on the wall sucked up all the dark mist that escaped from the god's body, slowly returning the room to what it was before. While that was going on, the god's body spasmed with his chains ratting very annoyingly.
A few seconds had passed, the dark mist was finally gone and the god finally stopped twitching.
The boy came to the god and said, "It's time for you to wake up. The world needs your strength right now."
The god didn't say anything. When the dark mist was absorbed, he just stopped moving altogether as if he had died. With that said, Yun Ling and Snow Fang weren't sure whether the god heard the boy's words or not.
A huge amount of spiritual energy suddenly burst out from his body, nearly turning Yun Ling and Snow Fang into bloody mists if not for the boy's timely protection with his spiritual energy.
The god opened his eyes and saw the boy.
"Teacher?"
The boy nodded.
The god moved his hands a bit, breaking the chains in his wrists. Then, he did the same to his feet. The restrictions on him seemed like a joke as it snapped too easily from even just a single bit of movement of his.
When the god got out of his restrictions, he kneeled down in front of the boy.
"I pay my respect to the exalted teacher, the teacher among teacher, the teacher of gods, and the teacher of all cultivators alike."

The Due
Every sailor knows the tale of Davy Jones' Locker. That place drowned sailors are sent to, ever resting on sea's bed. Some tales recount of a ghostly ship, the Flying Dutchman. Many a story has spawned from these two tales. Countless retellings mixing in their own fictions. But all stories spawn with a kernel of truth to them, and the story of Davy Jones is no exception. Those who've met the legendary seaman and his ghostly ship might call him a ferryman, escorting the drowned to their respective afterlives. Others might call him a devil, meting punishment on those deserving. The true story is always slightly different. Davy Jones is a ferryman, but not one for the afterlife, as Walter finds out. No, Davy Jones manages those who die at sea while in debt, and Walter died with a lot of debt. Unable to pay, Davy puts Walter to work. The specter has just the job for the dead college graduate. Another god, Sod, needs an afterlife for his new world. Davy tasks Walter with the job. Suddenly, Walter finds himself having to run a fledgling underworld with little instruction from Sod. To top it off, the denizens of Sod's world have their own ambitions to achieve godhood, and they won't take kindly to Sod's newest employee shaking up the status quo. [Traumatizing Content tag is up just to let everyone know this will be a story that deals with different themes of death. Some of them won't be nice and so better to be safe than sorry.]
