Yun Ling watched the sky with narrowed eyes as he continued to fly upwards. Those nine bolts of lightning were the result of him trying to defend himself. The nine lightning bolts suddenly descended on Yun Ling.

Upon seeing that, Yun Ling increased his speed as he flew faster to the sky.

A golden spiral portal appeared right in front of him. Then from that same portal, a large crescent-shaped spiritual energy that had a huge golden dragon around it came surging out of the portal as it met the lightning bolts that were heading straight at Yun Ling.

That attack was none other than Yu Shan and the crown prince's combined final attack at Yun Ling back in the Golden Dragon Election. Yun Ling had absorbed their attack at that time and now, he finally unleashed it to help him stop some of the lightning bolts from hitting him.

It was able to stop three lightning bolts from hitting Yun Ling but as for the rest, it couldn't do anything about it.

Loud, powerful explosions could be heard in the entire capital and even far beyond that as each lightning bolt struck Yun Ling.

Yun Ling felt like he was dying as the lightning bolts struck him one by one. Never had he felt such pain in his life before.

When he saw the last and the strongest bolt about to hit him, Yun Ling's eyes bled as he yelled out, "Divine Authority!"

A golden spiral portal appeared once again in front of him, sucking that last lightning bolt inside.

Yun Ling tiredly checked the sky once again, only to see that it was finally clear. There were no signs of any lightning anymore.

He couldn't help but smile in relief.

His lightning tribulation was finally done!

The wounds in his body healed up in just a few seconds as Yun Ling slowly descended to the ground.

Everyone was surprised, especially his family when they saw Yun Ling's eyes when they got near him.

Instead of the usual black sclera with golden pupils that appeared every time he used his Divine Eyes, Yun Ling's eyes were pure white.

At that moment, Yun Ling started seeing some strange visions...

He found himself in a forest looking at a person who had a blurry face, standing in front of him.

"I see... so you're the Divine Being of the Divine Eyes in this generation," a person with a blurry face said.

Yun Ling looked at him and frowned.

"Who are you? How did you find out?" he asked. How did that person know who he was after just laying his eyes on him? He had put on a disguise so how was he able to recognize him instantly?

Yun Ling's eyes constricted.

"Who are you, really?"

Yun Ling couldn't see it but he felt that the person was smiling when he said, "I am nothing but a teacher."

The scene changed, and from a forest, Yun Ling found himself floating in space, being surrounded by numerous stars, planets, galaxies, and other heavenly bodies at the far distance.

"Oh? Someone is trying to peek into the future..."

Yun Ling heard an amused voice that made his entire body and even his soul go cold. He looked up and saw a huge figure made out of countless stars in the universe.

His throat went dry.

The figure seemed to hold the entire universe in his hand.

The stars in the far distance...

Blackholes... galaxies...

Everything that he laid his eyes on...

All of it belonged to that huge figure who was looking down on him.

Yun Ling couldn't find any words to say as he looked unmoving at the figure in front of him. His entire body was telling him not to move lest he made a wrong move and cause the figure to eliminate him.

"I brought you here because I felt that someone was trying to mess with time and peek into the future," the figure said with his words resonating in the entire universe. "So it was you... the Divine Being in the Celestial Emperor's Era."

"W-Who are you?" Yun Ling asked after a long while, his voice tinged with obvious fear.

"You will know in the future," the figure said.

"What?"

"I'll allow you to look into the future..." the figure said. "However, only from time to time. Sometimes, it's dangerous if one knows too much especially knowledge that involves the past or the future."

"I don't understand what you're talking about..."

"You should go back now, the man from the past," the figure said.

After he had finished speaking, Yun Ling's surroundings had started to vanish.

Yun Ling's eyes widened as he panted heavily.
