《Young Master Has a Daughter》Chapter 60 - The Best Aide

“What are you doing, Young Master?” Yun Yi asked when he saw Yun Ling writing on a scroll on the table. He had just changed into new clothes and came out of his room to see Yun Ling writing with a serious expression on his face, making him curious.
Yun Ling took his eyes of the scroll as he looked at his cousin.
“Oh, Yun Yi… it’s a new supreme art I’ve learned from someone. I’m writing it down so that the other clan members could take a look at it and learn it,” he said as he continued writing the specifics of the supreme art to the scroll.
“For someone like you who has a high standard when it comes to supreme arts, it must be quite something. What kind of supreme art is it?”
With a mysterious smile, Yun Ling said, “Why don’t you take a look?”
Yun Yi merely raised a brow at him. Judging by the way his young master was acting, it must have been a really good supreme art.
He went beside Yun Ling and looked at what he had written. Yun Ling was not done writing yet but just by seeing bits of it, he knew what kind of supreme art it was right away.
“This is a body movement supreme art? Wait… isn’t this one of the Thunder God Sect’s supreme arts? If I remember it right, it’s the Thunder God Flash Supreme Art!” Yun Yi exclaimed. How was Yun Ling able to get his hands on this supreme art? Sects were really strict and possessive of their supreme arts. There was no way they’d teach an outsider their supreme arts.
Yun Ling smiled. As expected of his cousin, Yun Yi. Other people wouldn’t be able to recognize that it was the Thunder God Supreme Art he was writing on the scroll but Yun Yi did in just a glance. Even though he had never seen the Thunder God Supreme Art being used before, from what little he had heard, he was able to figure it out right away.

“That’s right. It is none other than the Thunder God Flash Supreme Art. I fought someone using this supreme art back in the Thousand Mountain Valley and was able to learn it from that fight,” Yun Ling explained nonchalantly.
“Oh, so that’s why…” Yun Yi nodded in understanding. He was one of the select few who knew of Yun Ling’s special ability so he really shouldn’t have been too surprised that he was able to get his hands on this kind of supreme art.
“It’s really a good supreme art but it has its own weaknesses.”
“Such as?” Yun Yi asked. Although he had heard of the Thunder God Flash Supreme Art, he didn’t know its weaknesses since he had never seen it in action nor used it himself. Only someone like Yun Ling who could use the supreme art would know of its weaknesses. However, Yun Yi was confident that if he was able to see the supreme art being used in front of him, he would also be able to realize the supreme art’s weaknesses.
Yun Ling let out a frown as he thought back to his own experience and fight against Wen Baishi. Then, he started, “First of all, this supreme art is too noisy. This weakness doesn’t matter too much when it comes to a fight because the user has a speed faster than sound. Before the enemy can hear the sound, it will be too late for them already. However, it is no good when it comes to escaping because the enemy can hear them. It is a body movement supreme art good only for a fight.”
Yun Yi nodded. That was indeed a big weakness of the Thunder God Supreme Art. If they were to confront an opponent they couldn’t beat, the only thing they could do was to escape. Even though the Thunder God Flash supreme art was one of the best supreme arts, one couldn’t use it to escape unless their speed was so much greater than the enemy's that they would be unable to chase after them even if they knew where they were heading to.

“It is also too taxing to the body. Most people will break their bodies if they use this supreme art for an extended amount of time. The spiritual energy consumed is also too much for an ordinary person. Now I understand why the Thunder God Sect doesn’t just teach any of their disciples this technique but only to the most exceptional ones. Aside from privacy reasons, not just anyone can use this technique. They would only hurt themselves if their body isn’t prepared for it. Worst case scenario, they might die.”
Yun Ling wasn’t really too concerned about this weakness for himself since his body could fully handle the strain this supreme art could do to his body. His father, grandfather, uncle, and Yun Yi also didn’t have to be concerned since their foundations were good. They could handle it. What he was most concerned about were his clansmen. Ideally, he wanted everyone to learn it so that the Yun Clan would get much stronger than it was before but that was a tall order since not only was this supreme art difficult to use, it was also dangerous.
“If Young Master is worried about our fellow clansmen, then there’s one thing you can do. You can order every great mind and powerful cultivators in the clan to work together and modify this supreme art so the others could use it safely,” Yun Yi suggested.
Yun Ling glanced at him to see if he was joking but he saw that Yun Yi had a serious countenance as he looked him in the eye. He let out an amused smile as he focused his gaze on Yun Yi.
“Gather everyone to modify this supreme art, huh? You make it sound like it’s easy, Yun Yi. Even if I managed to make everyone participate in modifying this technique, there’s no telling it will make the supreme art safer and easier to use. In fact, we may possibly change it for the worse.”
“Of course, changing the supreme art of this caliber is nothing easy. It has its own risk and benefits. However, if you don’t do anything about it, then you can forget imparting this supreme art to our clansmen.”
Yun Ling fell deep in thought as he contemplated Yun Yi’s suggestion. Certainly, he could do what he said if he used his father and grandfather’s authority over the clan. Still, changing a supreme art like the Thunder God Flash Supreme Art would certainly be a tall order. It was a supreme art that came from a god after all. They were just mortals. If other people heard what Yun Yi said, they would surely call him out for blaspheming a god’s supreme art.
Suddenly, Yun Ling smirked.
“Very well. Though it might be difficult, what you said made sense. I’ll gather the most capable cultivators in the clan to modify this technique later,” Yun Ling said as he looked at Yun Yi appreciatively. Yun Yi was indeed the best aide he could ever have.

Knight’s Fate: Knight and Princess
When war finally ended, the Arcadians sought retribution from the nightmares they had suffered from demonkind. A noble Princess had taken her mother's mantle in order to uphold peace between the two races so humanity could co-exist with their fellow demons in a kingdom without strife, but war paved the road to peace in blood and such path is but a fragile thread awaiting to be ignited by the flames of hatred. Another great war awaits, but will she be able to avert it?Second iteration of the Knight's Fate saga chronologically speaking. Yes I'm starting from the second because the first was an utter failure when I tried to write it, it just didn't fit the mood of a fantasy novel unlike this one. Though don't worry this doesn't mean you can't enjoy this one before I write the first. This is the first story I've actually published so I appreciate any feedback, be it good or bad just let me know what you think.
