Riverspan Sect Territory - Thousand Mountain Valley’s Entrance
Once a week, the Riverspan Sect would regularly send some of its disciples into the Thousand Mountain Valley to temper themselves. Of course, they won't send just anyone. Many considerations were made by the sect before sending a disciple into the Thousand Mountain Valley. The Riverspan Sect disciples would have to undergo some sort of test inside their sect before they were deemed suitable to be sent into the Thousand Mountain Valley. This is to minimize the casualties resulting from lack of preparation or lack of skill from the disciples.
The Riverspan Sect didn't want to lose any of its disciples if they could help it since they had spent a lot of resources on them. It would be irresponsible for them to send any unprepared disciple into a dangerous place such as the Thousand Mountain Valley as that would only be sending them to their deaths. That would be a waste of resources and manpower. They had nothing to gain but something to lose.
To avoid this, the Riverspan Sect had made a lot of precautions to increase the survival rate of its disciples. Aside from having their disciples take some tests, they were also put into groups with an elder from the sect presiding over them. The elder would usually just stay at the side while leaving the disciples onto their own devices as he observed them. Only when they got into a dangerous situation which the disciples couldn’t handle would the elder lend a hand to them.
In this way, the disciples could temper themselves without putting their lives at too much risk. This was the norm for the Riverspan Sect disciples.
This is why these disciples were surprised when they saw a beautiful young woman with a noble air around her walking towards the entrance of the Thousand Mountain Valley on her own. They didn’t see anyone besides her, no companions, not even an elder. She was alone.

Seeing this, a certain group of men decided to approach her.
“Hey there, beautiful. Are you going to enter the Thousand Mountain Valley on your own?” a quite handsome man walked towards her and asked.
“That’s no good, it’s dangerous on your own. Why don’t you come with us? I guarantee you it will be much safer if you follow us,” one of the handsome man’s companions added as he discreetly ogled her body and licked his lips.
Most of the male population at the entrance of the Thousand Mountain Valley started paying attention to her. The young woman was too beautiful so she’s bound to attract some attention to her, but her, being on her lonesome only made her stand out even more. Not only did she gain the men’s attention, even some of the women in the area were looking at her in awe while the others were simply jealous of her beauty.
However, all these people here were mistaken about something. This beautiful young woman was in fact, a man and not a woman. It was none other than the second son of the Yun Clan, Yun Ling.
Yun Ling coldly looked at the two who approached him. His gaze went even colder at the second man. He thought he didn’t notice it but Yun Ling’s eyes were much better than other people's. He could clearly see how the second man looked at him lecherously, making him incredibly disgusted. Yun Ling wanted nothing more to do right now than to poke his eyes and gouge it out for blaspheming him by looking at him with such intention. However, he suppressed such desire since this wasn’t his territory but theirs. Not to mention, there were even more Riverspan Sect disciples here than in Shenlan City. He would surely face the onslaught of the other sect disciples if he gives in to his desire.

When the second man noticed that Yun Ling was looking at him as if he was nothing more than an insect, he suddenly got furious.
“Are you deaf? Say something!” he yelled as he grabbed Yun Ling’s shoulder forcefully.
Before his right hand made contact with Yun Ling’s shoulder, Yun Ling quickly grasped his hand with his left one and spun around, placing his back against the man. Then he pulled him forward and hardly threw him down the ground over his shoulder.
A long, spiderweb-like crack was formed in the ground.
Everything happened so fast. They just watched the man about to put his hand on the beautiful woman’s shoulder and then the next thing they knew, he was already on the ground, groaning in pain. Not a single one of them was able to react.
The man looked at Yun Ling hatefully as he pointed his trembling fingers at him.
“You… you…!!”
Yun Ling scoffed as he looked at him in disdain.
“Keep your filthy hands off me, trash.”
The man coughed out a mouthful of blood and promptly fainted upon hearing that.
The area was filled with silence as they stared at Yun Ling warily. Some of the disciples secretly exchanged glances with each other, thinking whether to take action against him or not. Some already drew their weapons, preparing to engage in a fight.
The man who approached Yun Ling first quickly took a few steps back as he drew his sword and pointed it towards Yun Ling in hostility.
“How dare you harm a disciple of the Riverspan Sect?! Even if you’re a woman, I’ll show no mercy!” the man declared while glaring at him.
The rest of the disciples followed his example and took out their weapons as they surrounded Yun Ling.
“Tsk, this has gotten quite troublesome,” Yun Ling clicked his tongue in annoyance. After all the irritation he endured so far just to avoid getting into a confrontation with these disciples, ultimately, it ended like this.
Well, he had no one to blame but himself for this. He lost his cool when that pathetic excuse of a man tried to touch him.
“Very well,” Yun Ling sighed.
He might as well get this over with.
“Come at me,” he beckoned them with his left, index finger, provoking them as he faced them off fearlessly.
