After 30 minutes into the final hour of torture, I had read through all of the Windows that appeared before me. Every time I finished reading a Window, it magically disappeared; and then whatever the Window had shown would come into effect.

(Author’s Note: This basically means whatever he gains won’t be put into effect until he verifies it. Last Chapter, I only showed the MC gaining the Endurance Stat and +4 Endurance (He gains an extra stat because he gained the skill) but in fact, his gains were more than this. I just didn’t want to make a chapter with 50 million Windows, which would have been pretty annoying.)

Each time I read a Window telling me about an Endurance gain, the pain lessened; which was a blessing to me. Now that I think about it, this would have helped a whole shitload if I opened these Windows while being tortured by the wolf; but then again, I wasn’t even able to think straight at the time.

Now, if we just have a quick look at my gains…

Endurance +1

I received this Window 128 times; after looking more into the Endurance Stat, I discovered that each point in the Stat reduces physical damage by .02. This will definitely help in the future…

Skill: Pain Tolerance

Has been Acquired

Reading this box made me somewhat happy; it showed me I won’t have to go through this hell for every skill Iearn. The skill made me feel less pain, and correlated with the Endurance Stat. Each point in Endurance is multiplied by .02 again, just like with my new Stat

Acid Resistance Acquired

Truthfully, I’m not really sure if this will be useful in the future or not… I mean, hopefully I won’t end up swallowed by a beast again in the future, but I guess you never know?

You Have Leveled Up

And to wrap things up, I also received the classic Level Up Window. I received this a total of 7 times, which increases all stats by 1, and also gives me 5 Bonus Points. Now, I can finally show my new Status Window…

At this point, I had to think long and hard (That’s What She Said!) about what I should do with my Bonus Points. While I couldn’t add them to Endurance which I would have loved to do, I can put them in any other Stat (besides Luck). While I was considering dumping all of my points in Charm, I knew it wouldn’t help me survive; plus I could always do that in the future.

I assumed Strength and Agility would be the most important to me, so I put most of my points in there. I also put a great amount of points into Vitality to increase my Health (Gotta love video game mechanics). I put less points in Intelligence and Wisdom, but I assumed I will need it for Abilities in the future; especially for the Demonic Regeneration.

After I finished allocating my Bonus Points, 2 Windows popped up before my eyes. The first Window…
