《Another Day》Chapter 2

I try to slow down my breathing as much as I can.
Too much energy spent. Too much.
Breath. Converse. Heal.
Ha… Like that can be called heal. A bit or improvement of normal human healing. As a bit of strength returns to my limbs I look around.
Few goblins screaming and crawling away from me.
A blind troll running around. Shit forgot this one.
I slowly start walking in their direction.
Scanning around with my eyes I find what is left of my sword, of course in the same location where I left it.
I slowly wobble to pair of dead trolls.
I plug out what is left of my sword, which is only lower half of it, from the eye socket of the dead trolls
There is no way to glue to half of word. Shit an eye came out with it. I don't want to touch it so I clean it against the nearby wolf corpse.
Slowly I go around and finish anyone still breathing or moving.
One thing I learned through experience is that when one limb is lost everyone loses about 50%-80% of their offensive capabilities.
With trolls it is a bit harder. Fucking troll hide.
You can't simple kill a troll. 3 meters tall with 400 kilograms of muscles, thick hide and pure retardness.
After finishing everyone around the blind troll is the only one left. The blind troll is about 15 meters away and is searching for me.
Taking a deep breath of fresh air I stop. Shit, I smell like hell.
Looking around I find a severed leg of goblin. I grab it and throw it few meters away from me.
Troll instantly turns around and jump exactly where the leg landed. It's back is turned to me. I proceed to do the most logical thing, which is to explore how deep trolls asshole is. A pity I have such a short tool.

After that I quickly jump back and roll out of enraged troll way. Come on. Die faster. It should have been dead a long time ago with that amount of blood loss.
His voice change a “tiny” bit after my action. He continues to search around for me. That's when it hits me, its not a he but she… well “it” would be fine too.
Not into anal?
A pity.
I should end this faster. She is coming closer.
Taking another limb lying around I throw it directly on troll. She instinctively catches it with both hands and jaws.
But is too late. I am directly under her. I stab my circumcised sword into her neck. She tries to catch me but I am already out of her reach.
She makes several gurgling noises that resemble coughs and falls down into snow.
Finally.
Now…
I don't have much energy left. I wont reach the base in current state. I need food. Whatever is left from my ration is already useless. I need meat. Looking around I have 3 choices. Goblins barely have meat even when they are adult. Wolf meat will require some carving. Trolls is too hard to chew.
I sigh. I look around in search for the goblin leg that I threw before. A small snack will give me enough energy to carve some decent meat out of a wolf.
Life goes on huh.

The Solipsist
Every novel needs a main character, and in this case, it's a young man named Jacob Bates. Jacob is your average guy who likes books, television, and long walks on the beach. One day, Jacob was diagnosed with a condition that made his body frail and weak. This drove Jacob to focus solely on his studies, ending up becoming a fairly capable guy, despite his condition. The road ahead was looking great! That's when a little scene occurred between Jacob's girlfriend and one of his male classmates. Jacob's mood was a little lower than dirt from thereon. His motivation to pursue his studies, gone. This event caused Jacob to fall into the death grip that is a job in retail. One day, while Jacob was mopping the cold floors of the grocery store he worked in, a strange blue screen appeared in front of him, notifying him that the world was going through a change. Now if this change was a good or bad thing, he didn't know. But there was one thing Jacob knew for certain. He didn't have to mop the floors anymore. Author's Note: (This is my first story, and I would be very thankful if grammatical errors were pointed out. I could also take a few suggestions in the comments if you would. This is less a planned production, and more a little project that I'm winging as it goes. I will try and be consistent with at least 2 chapters a week. Also, as I am a completely new author, the number of words per chapter may fluctuate. The minimum will be around 1000 words, while other chapters may be 2000-3000. It will hopefully only get better with time.)

The Ingress Estate
Jonathon Eucole. Soldier. Scholar. Now an Initiate, the dedication without dedication, he finds himself both prisoner and master of an arcane edifice, the Ingress Estate, which can neither be escaped, nor controlled; only diverted, maintained, and pacified. This is a gothic fantasy story, set in a world in which gods and the afterlife are not only real and known, but were both established in living memory of some of the inhabitants after millennia of arcane warfare with the being who constructed the mundane reality the humans occupy. But this isn't the story of those who colonized the afterlife at the cost of their own humanity, but a somewhat more ordinary man, in somewhat extraordinary circumstances. This is also a LitRPG-lite, which means there's a system of sorts, fragments of which can be observed through Jonathon's eyes. Don't expect level-up screens, or statistics, or indeed numbers much at all, beyond those the inhabitants of the world itself apply to understanding their own reality. It pretty much doesn't matter to the story, I mention it so those who don't want to read LitRPG at all can successfully avoid it here. I don't have any particular plan here, just some ideas inherent in the genre. This is a character concept I toyed with some years ago; an old man, bright of mind but weighed down into apathy, both by his past and his responsibilities for a terrible estate that cannot be left without stewardship. Don't expect any kind of overarching plot or story, because that's really not what this is about. Also don't expect much dialogue. Or character development. Or much of anything, really, because I've planned nothing in the way of an actual book, here. Other relevant information, if you've read this far for some reason: The MC isn't super-powerful to begin with, and probably never will be. He's a veteran with some useful skills, and the insight on how to use them, so can deal with the world's ordinary threats reasonably well, but not too much beyond that. --- Currently on hiatus, as currently the story has a rather poor ratio of effort-to-personal-payoff. I may return to this once I have a clear idea of how to get the stories where I want them. I've started a more standard LitRPG using the same system. But if you like intelligence characters who cleverly min-max their classes, it probably isn't the story for you; it's the story of a rather ordinary guy who winds up in a very similar universe.
