《KEY to ABUSING the SYSTEM》Chapter 27 – the last battle?
The final fight for anyone trying to clear the system supported training dungeon would happen on the thirtieth floor. While floors beyond this existed, descending up to them would remove the restrictions of the system. From that point on the dungeon would fight for its own survival, deploying a full-scale army led by an Archlich. It was this grand army that prevented even the vast powers of the magical college from exploiting the dungeon's resources or defeating it outright.
As such the thirtieth floor acted as both a test and a warning. It housed a miniaturised version of the grand army, comprised of already encountered undead lead by a greater lich. This 'graduation army' was normally the end goal of an entire course of students. Passing graduation was separated into four sections. Firstly was a written test involving subjects such as history followed by compleating a multi-elemental or high-affinity spell before a panel of judges. Then came the danger, students would be placed in climbing groups of ten with an overseeing teacher and have to make it to the twenty-ninth floor on a deadline. Lastly, They would gather all the students that succeeded before assaulting the final task.
All this preparation was to give the students a chance to fight and survive this final struggle but every year there were casualties. Yet here we were about to face this same army as a duo. However, as with the original lich encounter I had a plan and it relied on the fact that the entire thirtieth floor would become a safe room after defeating the army.
Walking through the grand golden gates and onto an elevated platform let us view the army from a safe location before the war began. It was like the dungeon was attempting to show off its grandeur, displaying its army and wealth for all to see. A lone grand lich stood on an equally elevated and ornate platform at the other end of the massive circular room. The visual difference was minimal with only a few added chains hanging from its wrists but the monster eclipsed the normal lich's mana pool when viewed with mana sense. He was surrounded by eight death knights, vastly superior versions of the regular knight, and twenty normal liches. Each of these liches were guarded by eight regular zombie knights and six mages while commanding four squads. While the squads were lead once more by a general, but these generals were armoured and their soldiers had enchanted equipment.
The sheer might on display was incredible, with just the shield wall alone containing eight hundred undead and spanning the entire room. This was truly an army of death and would have been more than capable of destroying a single mortal kingdom. Unlike the armies of the living world, every member of this group was an elite having experienced war and death multiple times. Fortunately, even if they gained their freedom and could leave the tower, they would still lose in the end. This was due to the system limiting the grand lich's level to fifty and the fact their power would be vastly restricted outside the tower due to sunlight. As a task for a mere group of two however this was an almost impossible fight. Unless we cheated.
Looking over the enemies, I withdrew tens of fully charged high-level large mana crystals and chugged a temporary stat increasing potion and a numbness potion made by the princess. Once I started to feel their effects, I summoned my bed. That’s right I was going to fight an army on a bed! Knowing what I was about to do would put me out of commission for a week or more, I made sure I was comfortable and the princess had enough supplies before attempting this insanity.

Taking a deep breath, I activated Berserker mode driving my already 20% boosted strength stat to almost five hundred and twenty. After adjusting to the ballooning feeling for a few seconds, I activated the Titan Transformation. My body was screaming through the numbing effects as it hit just shy of a thousand and forty. At this point, I knew I had drawn the attention of both the grater lich and the dungeon itself, but the protection remained. You see the system had marked us as untouchable until we made the first move and I was going to abuse the shit out of that.
Activating my last card, I used Magical Might and the world went white. My body deflated as I went from having the strength to tear apart the world, to being unable to even sustain my own weight. With a healing affinity of just over 1669, I drew mana from the prepared gems and cast the most powerful healing based offensive spell I could “Heavens Descent”. The spells effects were simple, over a vast area it would heal and purify anything that was deemed an ally while inflicting 'holy' damage on all enemies. The best part is because it's both a buff and an attack, magical shielding didn't know how to react allowing it to bypass it completely The healing from this spell also affected the caster and stopped my mind from destroying itself as it purified the entire undead army. The sheer power of this fifth layer spell cast in the seventh layer twisted the fabric of reality, forever blessing this place with lingering healing energies. My last thought before I drifted into unconscious was, “The dungeon is going to be pissed!”
Protected by the system enforced safe floor and guarded by the princess, a week passed before I regained consciousness. Even with the healing, I awoke with a massive migraine as my brain tried to process what the hell I had actually done. This was the equivalent to designing a program for a supercomputer, then trying to run it on a twenty-year-old brick. I looked down and luckily, the prepared cleaning ritual had worked. Since I don't think the princess would have ever taken care of my bodily waste. After resting for an hour with the princess nowhere in sight, I decided to get up and find her. I stumbled off the bed and landed face-first on the floor due to my weakened legs. Running a few cycles of Ki through them solved the problem, so I continued my journey.
It was a relatively easy task, as she was playing chess with an Archlich... I honestly had to do a double-take, but she was indeed playing chess with an Archlich. This undead was the pinnacle of mid-tier, dressed in flowing white robes and wearing a crown. It could have been mistaken for a pale human if it was not floating and you didn't notice the purple flames contained within its eyes. Noticing my appearance the princess walked over and explained the situation. Apparently, after my display of power, the dungeon had sent a representative to the safe zone. This level 99 Archlich was unable to harm us but was to act as a deterrent if we tried to climb any higher. According to its lieutenant, a skeleton that like to talk in puns, the entire greater army was waiting for us on the next floor.

Deciding not to piss off the dungeon any more than we had, I proceeded to the white light in the centre of the floor to collect my reward. The princess had collected hers earlier but refused to tell me what it was. Only commenting that one of her items was a life pearl and that she could not synthesise them. Entering the light was like walking into a warm misty rain and three orbs formed in front of me.
The first glowing light dissipated revealing three small white marbles with a green glowing core, life pearls. The next one likewise dimmed while becoming a black rock that unnaturally absorbed light while the third turned into a golden metal. These two items actually exceeded my expectations with the first being a void core which would work as a good item for my class advancement in the next layer and the second being a small amount of orichalcum a metal with the equivalent value of Mythril. It was always debated between which of these metals was better. Mythril had magical propertied making it perfect for artefacts while orichalcum had anti-magic propertied making it perfect for armour, so while Mythril had more uses orichalcum was more practical. Taking my gifts I said goodbye to the lich and opened a gate to the town. The princess and lich just stared at me. Asking if we could go after she had won the game. Several hours later, we arrived back in the house with the princess sporting a shit-eating grin, leaving a sad and confused undead behind.
Free from the eyes of the dungeon, I decided it was time to crack level fifty. Opening my stats I saw a bright red message informing me that a third violation of the layer laws would result in me being returned to my original layer. Considering this was the original layer for this body I had no idea what would happen if I surpassed a thousand again. So I decided to play it safe and lock the all-or-nothing technique away for the time being. Having dismissed the message, it became apparent I had hit my stored level limit allowing me to jump directly to level sixty-three. This would gain me two new skills, twelve skill points, a new affinity and a new statistic so I decided to conduct a sacrificial ritual and exchange my new statistic and my new affinity for a pair of fusions. This ritual was another 'easy to set up but painful to use' model and I began the levelling process immediately after its completion lest I change my mind.

Forced ascension in 713 days
The changes were drastic but understandable with the only worry coming from the two-year countdown till forced ascension brought about by the Realm Breaker 2 title. With the newly gained Energy Sense, I could now detect multiple new types of energy. This included radiation, which will be useful for my trip into space. While Total Resistance would allow me to reduce the damage from the soul-based attacks I will likely encounter when fighting the king of the wild lands. I had chosen 'Child of Mana Control' and 'Mana Condensation' as well as invested in Energy Drain to enhance my magical abilities. Using the advanced pheonixian spells such as heavens descent, while effective was costly. I had been using a large number of mana crystals to offset this expense and I needed to move towards a more permanent solution.
Looking over my stats, it became obvious that I would find anything weaker than the 'graduation army' trivial. It was time to take back the princesses kingdom and get this annoyance back on the throne and out of my hair.

Tower of Somnus
When humanity first encountered alien life, we were judged and found wanting. The Galactic Consensus interviewed our leaders and subjected us to a battery of psychological tests to determine our progress as a society. They found us to be selfish, wasteful, impulsive, and boorish neighbors. Earth was blockaded and our collective encounter with our extrasolar neighbors rapidly faded from memory. All they left behind was a hypercomm relay and a handful of subscriptions to a massively multiplayer game that participants played in their sleep. The Consensus said that it would let us interact with our neighbors in a controlled setting. That it would teach us to be better members of the galactic community. The megacorporations that controlled Earth ignored the game until they learned that the powers earned from clearing dungeons were just as real when day broke. Magic, supernatural abilities and rumors exploded from nothing and a subscription to The Tower of Somnus became a status symbol. Katherine ‘Kat’ Debs doesn’t have much, but it could be worse. Born in an arcology, she was assigned a job in the megacorporation that raised her almost as soon as she could work. Despite the stability of her corporate life, she wanted something more. A chance to claw her way up the rigid social and financial ladder to make something of herself. A chance that wouldn’t come naturally to someone as familiar with dark alleyways and the glint of steel as she was with office work and corporate niceties.Book One is up on Kindle Unlimited as of 7/6/22 - https://www.royalroad.com/amazon/B0B2X3L8H5
