《The One Luna》A Beautiful Deception

"Defend at all costs! Keep them at bay until morning!" Luna commanded all the troops stationed on top of the southeastern walls. Thanks to all the Mages, they at least were able to fend off these winged monsters. The main thing about these Manananggals was their long tongue and incredibly strong wings. Even stronger than what the legends described them. They would blow strong gusts of wind with their wings, and the moment someone was caught off-balance they would strike with their long tongues that they primarily used for sucking the blood out of their victims.
Thankfully, every Mage was usually paired up with a VIT-based soldier. It was thanks to this that the Manananggals were not able to find an opening. But the soldiers were worried. Once they were injured, these winged monsters would just back off and regenerate quickly while more would come forward.
Luna was on top of Angry Bakunawa as he decimated these monsters. He would burn them until they were nothing but ash, right after he'd cleave them in one swing, but he didn't get any EXP.
"Luna, I'm not getting any EXP, they're not truly dying, it seems." Sura noticed this fact as well, so she was wondering why he was still trying to kill so many when the soldiers were more than enough to fend them off.
"Don't worry, it's all part of the plan." He simply replied. Sura nodded, knowing that Luna would never do things for no reason. That statement alone was enough to
Even Elder Aran was quite confused. As a Mage, he was decimating these monsters even more efficiently than Luna. He also noticed that he wasn't receiving any EXP, but he still follow Luna's command and killed as many as he could.
"What could Lord Luna be thinking?" He asked.
Mabini, Hana, and Apple were stumped as well. But the three of them had the same attitude as Sura.
"Luna-sama would not do such things if it was meaningless." Hana said, as she continued to stab out towards the ones that got too close.
The battle continued until it was almost daytime. The Manananggals, sensing this, all swiftly retreated. All the troops finally heaved a sigh of relief, looking forward to being able to sleep. Despite their high levels, even the VIT-based soldiers were feeling tired. The stronger you got, the more energy you'd consume.

Even someone who invested in pure VIT, if he kept fighting at full strength the whole time would feel exhausted. Not to mention being buffeted by the strong winds caused by the Manananggal's wings. Not to mention that those things were much stronger than the current ETZs and EHZs yet they got no EXP from them, which made it even more depressing.
Just as they were preparing to rest.
"EVERYONE, MOVE OUT! To hell with formations, make haste to the Lazi Municipality!" Luna suddenly barked out his orders.
"What?" That was the question almost everybody instinctively asked in their heads. Regardless of their confusion, they obeyed right away. This was a sign of how much respect they held towards Luna. With that said, everybody besides the injured ones, moved out.
Siquijor wasn't a big island when compared to the Negros, Cebu, or Bohol islands, but it wasn't tiny either. It took them nearly an hour to get to their destination.
The Lazi Municipality was located on the southeastern end of Siquijor. Luckily the troops were used to this. The soldiers stationed on the southeastern walls would go out to this island to train all the time.
Right as they got near.
"Surround the whole municipality." Luna gave his next command. Everyone was about to start spreading out, when they heard someone call out.
"Look! A survivor!" One of the soldiers said. It was a woman who had beautiful features. She looked like she could be one of those cute Asian girls that you'd see in stock photos.
She was tall, slim, and lithe. Her appearance was even made more enticing due to her shirt being wet. This made the male soldiers absolutely enamored towards her. She looked absolutely out of place in this new world.
Why would a woman this beautiful be out here?
"Miss, are you a survivor? Where did you come from?" One of the squad captains asked.
"I... I just came from Cambugahay falls." Her soft, soothing voice could melt one's heart. Cambugahay falls was an absolutely beautiful sigh to see. It was also a popular spot where people would take baths in it's crystal clear waters. Prior to the new world, it was one of the top tourist spots in the Philippines, and it was beautifully maintained.
"We're from the Sovereign Nation, you should come with us! It's the safest place to be. We'll take care of you there." The squad captain promised. Just as he was trying to convince the woman to go with them, Luna suddenly walked towards her.

Luna held her face and looked at her in the eyes.
"Damn! It seems Lord Luna wants this woman. In that case, I can only give up on her. Sigh, I wanted to take her out on dates too." The squad captain thought.
Just then, Luna grabbed the woman's shirt, and ripped it off.
"L-lord Luna! You can't! You said that's against the rules! Punishable by death!" The squad captain who was already depressed after losing his potential future wife, was infuriated.
How could Lord Luna do this?! He's always been so respectful towards women! He never even took in multiple women and only ever had Lady Sura in his eyes. So why would he strip another woman right in front of not only her, but everybody else?
As if that wasn't infuriating enough, he saw Luna's hands go towards the woman's waist area, feeling it slowly with his fingertips.
"Your rate of healing truly is astounding." Luna said.
"Eh?"
"Rate of healing?"
"What does Lord Luna mean when he said that?"
Everyone was quite confused. Sura, Apple, Hana, Mabini, Elder Aran, and some of the higher ranking officials already caught on to the reasoning behind Luna's actions. This was also an indicator that he did indeed promote only the most capable people.
"Only level 30. You're much weaker in the day." Luna added. The woman's eyes widened, as she tried to struggle free. Unfortunately for her, Luna's arm didn't even budge.
She started banging on his chest as she begged the squad captain from earlier. "Please! Help me! He's going to defile my body! Please! I'll be your woman, just save me from this man!" Her pitiful expression could make almost anybody want to save her.
"This.. Lord Luna, please, she's an innocent woman!" The squad captain begged for her. He wanted to save her, but what the hell can he do against Luna? Going against him was a death wish.
Luna looked at the squad captain as he then held her waist with both hands, raised her up for all to see, as she struggled and kept banging on his arms.
Frowning, he said. "What a beautiful deception."
CRUNCH!
One could hear bones breaking.
As soon as he applied force, she split her in half. As her upper body was falling, he grabbed her by the mouth before she could recover from her shock and scream and crushed it as well.
Her upper body wriggled as her form changed, wings sprouted out, only to start burning. Her lower body was started to walk away as it started burning as well.
"This..." The squad captain from earlier and the other soldiers started vomiting. Not just from the gore, but the fact that the woman they were all so enamored with was actually one of the grotesque Manananggals they were fighting last night.
Pointing towards the squad captain's head, Luna said "Next time, think with this head and not with the small head down there." Luna reprimanded him. The squad leader, along with the other soldiers were quite ashamed. They actually got boners from the woman being stripped earlier as a natural reaction to seeing her perfect, naked body. Only for it to instantly disappear the moment they saw her squirming as a winged monster with a sharp, bloodsucking tongue.
If one was to think about it, what would a beautiful woman be doing alone out here? Especially with the Manananggal invasion last night. Not all of them were at the walls, some of them spread out as well. Whoever was still alive in this town before, died last night, for sure.
"Surround the Municipality!" After the live demonstration, everyone was even more wary. They definitely would not fall for such trickery again.
Unbeknownst to most, the reason Luna killed so many despite not getting EXP, was so he could tell where they were coming from. Even when you killed the upper half, as long as the lower half was still alive, they would regenerate at astonishing speeds as long as they weren't exposed to the sun.
Luna noticed that despite how many he killed, he would notice the amount he would kill would equal the amount of reinforcements coming from one direction. Sending Emergency Food to fly above the clouds, he scouted and eventually found out where they were coming from.
