《A Slip Of The Force》Chapter 3 - A Job Well Done - Part 1

You know killing can actually get somewhat monotonous if you don’t change it up every now and then. I mean sneaking around and ambushing people is amusing but it loses the overall thrill from when you first do it.
The reason I have reached this conclusion is because I have just finished killing my 157th target and 449th victim, within the sixth city and am left with a further three to go. I have spent the last four and a half months killing my way through the Hutt’s associates.
What started out as a thrill has become a chore. Stalk prey, wait, ambush, move to next target. Though with this last group I will be done with this city. Which leaves me with two mountain fortresses to assault. Then follow that with the final biggest hit, against the Hutt Kajidic itself, at there fortress like compound filled to the brim with the nastiest bastards in the system.
Though the Hutts haven’t been sitting idle, they actually put a bounty out on my head, 75,000 credits. Though with the fact that I haven’t left any survivors behind, they don’t know who I am, hindering them greatly. And only one individual has managed to find me, but due to my special eyes I caught him before he got away. Leaving me to move around as if I were a ghost.
This has lead me to the conclusion of my wraith like activities, as I am currently stood in an alley to the side of a rundown house. It acts as the topside cover for the underground brothel, where no doubt many decadent activities take place. I climb up the wall stabbing my claws into it to move around. I crawl around the corner and find a guard out front. 'Hhaaaahhhhhh' for some reason I let out a sort of hiss as I close in on my unsuspecting victim, as he turns to find the noise I lunge and tear into his neck killing him quickly and mostly quietly.
After cleaning myself a little I walk past the worn curtains, throwing my knife at the guard by the basement door, before he manages to get out a word. Then I knock on the door and wait for the eye slot to open, as it does I see some surprised eyes. With this chance I fit a thermal detonator through the gap and jump away. Seconds later the door is disintegrated and I make way down.
The stairs lead to a hallway with a door at the end and with five further guards. Not giving them chance to take aim, I start charging and close the distance in seconds, weaving between blaster shots.
I get up close and redirect the gun of ’One’ to the leg of ’Two’ just before ‘One’ shot, pushing ‘Two’ down I thrust my elbow into the throat of ‘One’ knocking him down. I roll to the right, swinging out a kick into the leg of ’Three’ unbalancing him, I take the opportunity to slap aside his gun hand and lay into him like Donnie Yen, fists flying allowing for his head to bounce back off the ground into my waiting fists.

Seeing all this ’Four’ is taken aback but ’Five’ comes charging at me with a vibro-sword. I jump around avoiding his wild slashes, seeing an opening I throw my vibro-knife at number ’Four’, hitting him in the throat. Now with my full attention on ‘Five’, I follow my training easily disarming him and breaking his wrist simultaneously, then with a flourish I spin round and decapitate him. I look at the scene before me, all are dead except ‘Two’ but he’s crawling towards the door. Grabbing my knife I walk on over, pin him down with my knee on his back and drive my knife into the back of his skull.
I search their bodies for their access key to the door and pick up one of their rifles. Opening the door I am shown a large hall with a centre stage where multiple girls are dancing, many scantily clad with collars, while men below are hollering and drinking with more girls in their laps. I guess it’s some sort of auction.
To the side there are areas partitioned with silk curtains, likely where the men take the women for private sessions. There’s a strong musky smell in the air that’s getting me a little riled up, I want to do something but I don’t know what. Though it seems to be dulled somewhat, If I get the chance I’ll look into it.
Seeing as I’m unnoticed I take the opportunity to fire into the crowd of men, this causes many to scream and dive to the floor or run. Those behind the curtains come out to see me pointing a gun their way and begin to run to the back door. Many of the women crouch and huddle in fear.
These men are not my primary targets, the ones I want are the ones that run this place. As I make my way to the back, the musky smell gets stronger and I’m drawn to one of the women, she’s pink skinned, I think her race is known as Zeltron. Pulling her to myself I drink her scent, rubbing her lower back and groping her arse, compelled almost.
But then I’m interrupted by guards that have come along from the back and opened fire, I push the woman away and fire at the guards getting behind the cover of the stage and throw a thermal detonator over. Seconds later theres the tell tale sound of vaporisation and death as bodies drop to the floor. I jump over the stage and hurtle towards the back door and smash through it
Immediately afterwards a vibro-axe swings around and hits me straight in the chest, tearing a massive gash in it and I’m knocked down breathless and dazed, as another comes down going for my neck, but I roll out of the way at the cost of my right arm below the elbow. With little time to take in my surroundings I run at the wall to run its length in an effort to get my bearings. I find seven guards with various vibro-blades in the room.

I launch off the wall, roll, grab the leg of ’One’ with my hair tendrils and fling them into the air, then I redirect an overhead slash with my left arm, lean back and kick ’Two’ in the gut. Then proceed to jump and spin over a horizontal slash landing on my hand and feet, lunging up with a palm strike to the chin of ‘Three‘. I take their wrist and twist around it and smash my knee to their elbow.
Picking up the vibro-sword I parry another slash of a vibro-axe from ‘Four‘, get inside of their guard and stab them through the gut. Once more rolling forward I stab ‘Three’ in the heart. Then exchange three strikes with ’Five’ cutting his arm off. ‘Six’ takes advantage of this and comes in from behind ’Five’ with quick jabs of his vibro-sword forcing me back up against the wall, without much choice I decide to fall on his sword, to close in and stab him.
All I had left were the first two. They came at me as one ’Two‘ acting as the vanguard to give ‘One’ an opening. Parrying and dodging I’m stumbling over the bodies under the constant assault, until I grab ‘Ones’ sword arm with my own newly re-grown arm and redirect it to ’Twos’ leg and then slash my own sword across ’Ones’ chest and then kick aside ‘Twos’ sword and run him through.
‘Hah hah goddamn that was tough lost my bloody arm even, damn good thrill though. Wait wasn’t there a seventh?’
I quickly duck as a blade flies overhead, and I cartwheel away to gain some distance, picking up my trusty knife and get in a ready stance. What was before me was the seventh guard with a big grin on his face, pupils dilated and veins bulging around his face. If I had to guess he’s taken some spice and gotten himself into a mad rage. Add on top of that he seems to hold some skill with his sword, he’ll be bothersome.
We began circling one another stepping over the bodies and then when we had covered half of the circle, we charge at one another knife against sword he manages to keep me at a distance and struggling to parry his swings, feeling the vibrations from his hits travel all up my arms. I roll to the left and my tendrils pick up an arm and throw it towards him, I quickly follow after diving in close and stabbing him in the heart. I had thought that was it but he swung back staggering, he flailed around a little longer in an attempt to get me but ultimately fell down lifeless.
With the fight over I lean back against the wall to catch my breath and take in the scene. I’d dare say that this was my toughest fight to date. But given I’ve two moutain fortresses to take and a Hutt stronghold to take, I’m pretty sure this will be out done.
With my rest over I push onward and go to the final door, use a plasma cutter to make a small circle, then I punch it making a hole. Shots fire off but don’t make it through the door; once they calm down I chuck a thermal detonator in and wait for it to go off. Then I take a look in and find them all dead. With that I make my departure and head back to base.
Upon getting back I go to the bosses office and give him a list of things I need and when I need them, for the up coming mountain forts. After all a knife and grenade aren’t going to cut it.
This time I will need a cloaking device, explosive charges, poison gas to add to the ventilation, a computer interface machine, fusion cutter, speeder bike and my ever trusty thermal detonators. As I leave his office I hear one of his guards by his side whisper about me.
“Man she is so hot, and that whole quiet beauty thing she’s got going on makes it all the better.” - Guard 1
“Really I find it kind of off putting why doesn’t she speak? All she does is nod or shake her head.” - Guard 2
“I heard about her from the other bosses, she never spoke to any of them and came in and out just to pick things up, paying no one any attention. From what the higher ups let slip she is genetically engineered. And they put her through ten years of non stop rigorous training, that would kill a normal person. So there’s likely some sort of trauma going on in her head, like a mind trapped within a mind. I also heard that those Kaminoan were involved and knowing them they probably messed with her mind something nasty. Made her like a robot and juding by how efficient her work is I’m inclined to agree with the assumption.” - Boss
“Wow do you think I’ve got a chance with her? I mean she shouldn’t have any experience of dealing with guys right.” - Guard 1
“Pahaha! You’re nuts she’d kill you in an instant I’d stake money on it.” - Guard 2
“Hah… I wonder if I’ll ever find a nice gal to settle down with.” - Guard 1

A Prose of Years
For decades, spiritualist Evert Kallstrom and his team have joined in humanity’s millennia-long fight against the beasts. Wielding their weapons and their ki, they fought and killed these great threats to civilization. And yet, despite their efforts, humanity was losing traction in the war. In the last fifty years alone, more cities had been overrun than in all of known history. While most thought the great beasts natural, a few knew the terrible truth. They were the product of a dark lord, who desired neither fame nor wealth nor power. Instead, his sole purpose was the genocide of humanity. While their peers dithered, a small faction of the strongest mankind had to offer—including Evert Kallstrom and his team—set out towards the Deadlands to find and confront this dark lord. After weeks of travel, twenty-one spiritualists found themselves approaching an ancient fortress wherein rested a being known only as the Eastern Guardian. All they found was death. But death has other plans for Evert. Evert bolts awake in his 16 year old body near his hometown, decades in the past. He is confused, poor and weak. But with grit, sweat, and years of experience, he won't let the future repeat itself. That level of strength won't be enough by itself (it wasn’t last time) and victory is hardly assured (he’ll need to reach farther and higher than he ever did), but Evert refuses to squander a second chance. [Other tags: First Person POV, Hard Magic, Faulty Memory] Volume 1 is complete and has been fully released. My current intention is not to write any sequel volumes. That said, I have also released appendices (SPOILERS) that cover the worldbuilding and future story-that-never-was. Comments suggesting fixes for grammar, misspellings, etc. appreciated. Note: If you came here from Candlelit Lives, these stories have nothing in common.

The time counts down as Cain fights against the remains of a fallen world in order to complete a mysterious mission. Where did all the people go? What is Cain's goal? Find out in "A City of One." Author recommendation: This story is best read slowly with sad music playing in your ears. (The Interstellar soundtrack and the song Undaunted, by Audio Machine, are some excellent tone-setters for this tale.)

Hi I don't know if this is satire/ironic or not, all I know is that I've been on a Total Drama kick and I spent the last half hour sending crappy Cody fanart to my friend.
