《Re:Direction The Peak (Cultivation Tale)》CH. 381

Not long later, Nightmare left.
There were no reasons to remain in that shithole filled with greedy fucks. At least, in his opinion.
The Sword of endless resentment that he placed as a bet was one of his supreme items. A rank 7 item. It was something of immense value. No, it was something with no value as it was not something you could even ever buy.
Then again, he did not bet it casually.
It was worth it to get those two to agree to a deal.
He chuckled.
He moved at top speeds towards Vrislorin.
And then, he reached the continent. As soon as his feet touched the ground, he felt the impressive restriction placed on him and his cultivation.
“We should never have let this happen…” He thought.
Then, he grabbed the space in front of him and tore it open as if it was paper. A total darkness was uncovered and from within, countless red eyes.
In moments, shapes began to escape the darkness until there were hundreds covering the grounds in front of him.
They were all cultivators. They were. Past tense.
They were dead yet alive. No more than tools.
Preserved soul and body through evil forbidden and forgotten knowledge. They would have looked like any regular cultivator if not for their lack of eyeballs and empty sockets.
More and more kept coming out of the torn void.
Nightmare spoke. His voice was not loud but heard by all those poor captured souls: “Go forward, kill everything on your path except my disciple”
He laughed as he watched thousands and thousands of cultivators that he enslaved start running.
Sending five people? Sure! He would not even send one! After all, all of these ones were dead beyond dead!
Taking his disciple away? Search and rescue? No way!

Either he managed to escape himself or he died here!
He laughed as more of the living dead left the void.
…
Alexander called out to one of his aides: “Send the debtors to Vrislorin. Give them Jin’s details and tell them that whoever brings him back, alive, will be free from his debt. Teamplay is allowed”
Alexia added: “Of course, we are not sending them there ourselves, they are choosing to go there of their own volition, drop them a little off coast”
Alexander pondered for a moment before he also added: “And whoever of the employees wishes to go are allowed. I shall grant a wish to whoever gets him”
The aide’s eyes sparkled.
Alexander chuckled as he stated: “You can go as well once you’ve organized all this”
The aide nodded before bowing and then departing to take care of these things.
Alexia grinned: “It can’t be helped if so many are choosing to go there by themselves, now can it?”
Alexander laughed: “Of course not, my dear. It is beyond us.”
They kissed.
…
Meanwhile, far away, somewhere in the middle of the ocean.
Fumes stood on top of the water as waves hundred of meters tall crashed around him and lightning came down from the heavens.
To call this place a dangerous area was an understatement.
It was a forbidden area created by the ocean dwellers. The entrance to a jail. A jail that contained a single being.
A few moments later, the ocean stilled as the clouds stopped moving.
Ripples began to spread gently over the surface with the epicenter a few meters away from Fumes. He looked at it with a slight smile.
Slowly but surely, something came out of the water to stand upon it in front of him. It was a humanoid with the head of a seahorse.

Fumes greeted him with a cunning smile: “If it ain’t the mighty stallion of the ocean~”
The seahorse humanoid frowned as he coldly spat: “What are you here for, Fumes?”
Fumes grinned. Then, he continued: “How’s the queen doing? Last I heard, she was quite fond of horse riding~”
The seahorse glared angrily at Fumes without adding another word. Fumes laughed wholeheartedly.
This seahorse was an expert much like himself. However, instead of being free to roam around, he was stuck guarding the jail here.
For the foolish reason that he entered one of the very few holes he should never have entered.
When Fumes first learnt of it, it took him many hours before he stopped laughing. It took great courage to do what this horse did. It also took a whole new level of idiocy.
Fucking the Queen of the oceans while the King was away…yet still getting caught.
What a legend!
The seahorse was not able to contain his anger as he screamed at Fumes: “I asked you what you think you’re doing here?!”
The sky thundered along with his voice.
Fumes chuckled before he stated simply: “What do you think? It’s obviously not to see your ugly horse face”
The seahorse took a stance as a fishing rod appeared within his hands.
Fumes kept his hands behind his back as he asked: “Is the door down there?”
The seahorse did not respond nor move, staring intently at Fumes. Fumes nodded before he was slowly swallowed down by the water, diving for the deep feet first.
The seahorse did the same.
As they flowed down to the depths, Fumes asked: “You’re not going to stop me?”
The seahorse grinned: “What do you think I am doing right now?”
They both laughed.
Soon, they reached the very depth of the ocean. A gigantic door fifity meters tall stood on top of the sand. Hundreds and hundreds of spiritual algae clung to it and the chains that held it down and locked.
It was quite an impressive sight. Yet neither Fumes nor the seahorse cared.
Fumes looked deeply at the door before he said slowly: “Time to play, Clowny~”
The door shook once.
Then twice.
Then the chains began to rattle as the doors began to crack.
The seahorse moved to the side while Fumes stood there with a smile.
Then, the entire architecture exploded in many small pieces and out of the void, a being came out.
A little fish no longer than six centimeters remained there. It was mostly orange with a few black and white here and there.
What made it different from any ordinary fish was that it wore golden sunglasses and a golden chain hung from his ‘neck’.
As his face turned to Fumes, his mouth opened to reveal a row of golden teeth.

Legends of Balarel - A Leisurely LitRPG
Glenn Redwood has longed to become an Adventurer since he was a young boy, and has focused every waking moment on that goal since turning 14. Answering the challenge of the Gods of Balarel, he has fought Monsters, Leveled, and grown stronger. Yet the day before his 16th birthday, the day he will earn his dream or lose it forever ... the Gods have made a wager. And no mere mortal wishes to draw the attention of the Gods. ***** This is my crack at writing a leisurely LitRPG. My focus is more on telling interesting stories set in a world where people live under a MMORPG-like ruleset enforced by the Gods, and less on writing another story where the MC gets massive stat boosts every chapter before heading off to wreck the world. There will be plenty of blue tables (it’s LitRPG!) but my Adventurers are just starting out. This fic is about the journey, not the destination, so expect everyone to Level ... leisurely. Updates: M-T-W-Th. I’ll post 3000-4000 words a day, or 12000-15000 words a week. If this posting pace ends up being too much for me, I reserve the right to slow posts down a bit. Inspirations: Blessed Time (Royal Road) Is It Wrong To Try To Pick Up Girls In a Dungeon? (Anime) Trails in the Sky (JRPG Series) MC: My MC is a genuinely good person who’s both a talented warrior and tactically savvy. He prefers to solve problems without violence but will resort to force if necessary to protect his friends or innocent people. I’m tired of stories starring anti-hero MCs facing endless doom and gloom, so I wanted to write a nice guy with an adventurous spirit who helps people in a thriving fantasy world. That’s all.

Rage: Crisis / Consequence / ???
Its been ten years since Seth was given his powers, ten years since his town was driven mad by that very same power, and ten years since its source was shunted into his head. A species of energy beings, a people filled with regret for what their entrance onto this world caused. Regret for the deaths that town perpetuated, the devastation they brought, the blow they served to the once proud heroes of this world. Heroes Seth now hopes to join, hopes to heal and atone to for what transpired. But their wounds run deep, their ire sharp, and their acceptance thin. And to top it all off... Seth's power is run far deeper than he knows, and sees his world in a light all its own. This series is my first foray into authoring, with two parts out of at best four if the readership stands. But part three will still book end nicely otherwise. And I'm not stopping till then. It is action heavy with varied and ramping up fight scenes through out. (Book 1 is heavy / Book 2 a little lighter) It is bloody in places, mildly gory in others, and heavily gory in simulated places. Nothing truly horrifying, I think, but be warned. It has trauma. PTSD is a major part of the story, but I will never trust that I got it completely right, so your mileage may vary on how believable or impactful it is. Lastly it has language. Swearing ebbs and flows as the story progresses and attitudes harden or soften. Sometimes bleeding through into the narration... somehow.
