《Re:Direction The Peak (Cultivation Tale)》CH. 256

Things did not solely happen outside the secret realm though.
After the trial, the Saints stayed in the castle. They mostly lived in it to cultivate after severing their secular desires. Not all of them did though. Saint Shalonna did not but stayed at the castle from time to time as if she was on holidays. It was her right though. This castle was supposed to exist to house the Saints and provide them a safe place to cultivate.
Aside from that, only the Saint Patron truly had work. And the retiring ones who needed to teach the new ones. This was the case this time with Saint Alvaro leaving his position and handing it over to Saint Bôrakos. Something quite special happened during this trial that they had to investigate though.
Only the Saint Patron had the rights to open the Remnant's Crypt where all the remnants sojourned, awaiting for successors to teach. He opened it twice per century. One for the trial of The Peak and one for the hopeful new geniuses. However, he had, in theory, the right to open it any time though entrance would be restricted only to himself. However, why would a Saint Patron do so? They were even stronger than the remnants left there and whatever legacies were there would not mean much to them. Their power, after crossing the 70th stage boundary, was far too much different from before it.
Would a dragon need to learn how to hunt like a wolf?
As to the possibilities of being a middle-man to share the things with the next generations...No one was that selfless, especially the Saints. They came this far pursuing a distant goal that pushed them towards indulging in many sins. They were selfish individuals.
Though they held their face and honor high, they remained humans like anyone else. At least, in their pursuits and desires.

They were still forced to follow certain rules placed by their predecessors. After all, no one wanted the planet to die along with everyone on it. This was why the Trial existed and the whole secret realm was built back in the days.
It was a shame that the founders had yet to comprehend the required runes to engrave arrays and formations able to stock the remnants... The oldest one in there shouldn't be older than three hundred thousands. It was a shame but couldn't be helped.
Regardless, the two Saints, Alvaro and Bôrakos, did not come here to be enlightened or taught. They had to know which dumbass remnant was trying to escape. This crypt was the greatest library of techniques in the entire world, containing teachers instead of books. Its value couldn't be described. They were protectors of the secret realm and, as a part of it, protectors of this library.
As they entered the grand hall filled with giant statues, they both lacked the respect one might expect to see from the younger ones. As they walked, the statues all began to turn towards them and welcomed them as equals. Everyone here, remnant or not...They were all pinnacle experts.
Their own statues containing their remnants also came up to greet them. They were both mocking them for still not having crossed over the End Point. They did not come here to chat and entertain the remnants though.
Saint Alvaro moved forward, taking the lead, since Bôrakos wasn't used to this. He stated: "One of you remnants gave a soul channel to a champion. We have come here in order to know who dared to do so"
The remnants all fell silent as their gazes turned cold. Be they from the good or the bad factions, they were all reacting in the same way. But they weren't glaring at each other or being suspicious of one another. Instead, they were furiously looking at the two living Saints.

One of the older remnants moved forward, towering over the two who weren't intimated in the least, and asked: "Are you trying to humiliate us, little Alvaro?"
Another statue added: "Everyone here knows that such actions could impact our living selves, which one would be dumb enough to do so?!"
A third one added: "Fuck off, young one, while we remain gentle and cordial"
Saint Alvaro chuckled as his spiritual energy began to revolve. Every remnant calmed down. They all frowned. The truth was that they weren't at the level where they could act upon the threats they stated. Due to being mere remnants, their abilities capped under the 70th stage. They were close to it but not there. And anyone at the 70th stage was a calamity with no opponents. If Alvaro wanted, he could eliminate all of the remnants alone without being injured once.
Seeing as they all calmed down, he spoke once more: "Which one of you tutored the champion named Jin?"
As they heard the name, many had different reactions but one in particular couldn't help but laugh aloud. It was Cheng. Amidst laughter, he couldn't help screaming: "You really couldn't hold it in, uh?! You just had to go and fuck yourself?! And in such a way?! Dumb bitch! Pwahahah!"
Sarina Sempress walked out as she glared at him. She hated him since day one. It had not changed. It became even worse than before. Still, even his insults and gloating could not do anything to dampen her mood. If the two of them came here to speak about this, it meant that Jin did escape.
He succeeded.
As she walked forward, she was all smiles.
Saint Alvaro saw her walk up and sighed. He asked: "Sarina, how could you do this? Are you renouncing on all the beliefs you ever held dear?"
Sarina looked him in the eyes and stated: "I learnt is all, Alvaro"
One of his eyebrow went up as he got curious and inquired: "What did you learn?"
She smiled as she said: "Freedom is the only thing that matters"
Many statues were offended by her words, a few cursed at her and Cheng kept laughing. He never expected the day would come when this justice-filled whore would stoop so low.
What a great day today was!

Through Mist, Veil, and Summer
Anna Lawrence is a quiet girl who'd rather sit and write poetry than bustle about with her peers. After an incident resulting in a panic attack and a trip to the hospital, Anna's foster mother sends her to stay with her aunt and uncle for the summer. Upon arriving in the small mountain town of Glenwood, Anna finds herself caught in the machinations of another world on the other side of the fog: warring witches, animal-headed skypirates, and the boldest, bravest, most interesting girl Anna has ever met. THROUGH MIST, VEIL, AND SUMMER is my homage to Studio Ghibli films. It's a fantasy romance with a dash of adventure and a sprinkling of self-contemplation. It's a story that moves a little slower, a little quieter. It is my fourth novel, written between October 1, 2017 and January 6, 2019.

Conquest Of Mortem
*NOTE* This novel is a war of attrition. To say anything less is a disservice to its demand. While comparable to other such works as Ulysses or Moby Dick, each sentence in Conquest is an enemy to be tackled. Not in the ways of difficulty but in absurd density that wishes nothing more than to destroy what patience you may have. Do not tackle chapters as you would ordinary chapters in an ordinary book. Tackle each chapter as a book unto itself. A foe to be vanquished, a period of life to leave behind. Seek to be master of this work. Seek to overcome. For in its design is the willpower, and the perseverance, and the strength of someone who sought meaning in struggle. As I discovered these in times of ultimate desperation, so I hope for you to discover these things. This novel is a love letter to your trials. May you overcome them. May you master them. May you become conquerer.- SeedSagaA literary epic for logophiles, philosophers, and poets alike. A journey into zeitgeist, the impact of media on culture, and the endurance of morality against an onslaught of hatred. These vague descriptions do little to compact Conquest's density into a bite-size summary. They do however relate the basest themes found within. A plot, if such can be surmised, is strung thinly across multiple perspectives, weaving together these concepts into a seemingly distorted tapestry of indecipherable events. Inspired by early 20th century modernism, Conquest will challenge the reader, and provide critique on the medium upon which all great stories are derived. Further interpretation is up to you now; an explorer among a sea of words. Venture on and discover what lies ahead, in...CONQUEST OF MORTEM
